There was nothing to see. It was pitch black all over the surroundings. Even if there were imaginary crevices hiding within some previously conceived corners, darkness engulfed everything.
And then, there was light at what was assumed the end of an incomprehensible pathway. A small flame lit the way of what seemed to be a tunnel headed towards the presumed other side. Instinctively, one would rush towards the minute blaze, but Shirogane hesitated.
A look of great reluctance shrouded the "King of the Jihonian Underworld's" face as the fire instantaneously transformed into the massive head of a living, breathing fiery monster, which was about to devour him into its massive jaws full of razor sharp teeth.
All of a sudden, there was complete silence, and only the sweet tunes of the innocent chirps of the crickets outside came afterwards to fill the senses. It was peaceful once again.
