Chapter 5 - 05|Demoness?Lunch.

At the top floor of an office building, a man sat in front of a desk filled with documents waiting to be signed. Eris loosened his neck tie and adjusted his glasses to focus on the workload.

The Rockefeller conglomerate was becoming wider by each day and it had remained at the leading enterprise in the business world.

The company is owned by Orman Rockefeller, a business mogul, albeit powerful, he laid low for year and controlled the business world on his own without coming into limelight.

After so many years of being CEO, he decided to handover the company to his son who had spent years under his tutelage learning how the business world run.

The shareholders in the company in an annual board meeting refused to accept Orman Rockefeller's handing over of the company to anyone else just like that.

Although Eris being the only son of Orman is the rightful heir, the shareholders came to conclusion that to prove his competence, Eris needed to manage and coordinate a newly opened branch of the company at West side city.

Eris flipped through documents, signing, accepting and rejecting some offers. It was obvious that with the years he trained under his father, he will do extremely well.

The newly opened branch in West Side city under his leadership grew rapidly within the span of less than a year. With this development, he was able to gain the interest of top shareholders in the company.

In the middle of work, a knock was heard before the door pushed open. Taylor, Eris' personal assistant walked in.

"What is it?" Eris questioned coldly without raising his head that was engulfed in work.

"You should see this Eris" Taylor said. He was not only an assistant to Eris but also his best friend. They had known each other since they were in diapers.

Eris paused and took the tablet Taylor held in front of him. It showed pictures of a particular lady in different occasions and with different men.

Her face had her signature seductive smile.

Although there were no much closeness between the lady and the men, the pictures were quite suggestive.

"What are you going to do about her?" Taylor asked the expressionless Eris.

"You still have your men following her?" Eris said, his face devoid of any emotion.

"Sure I am, with how smooth we are scaling and now that we have most of the shareholder's support I don't want just anyone to sabotage your hard work. I trust no one around you".

"She is only a college student" he said still emotionless.

"So she is not harmful, her family owns the business world here in this City, but now that we extended our branch here, don't you think we are a threat" Taylor explained.

Eris dropped his pen and looked up at his friend.

"A threat? Let's see about that" he smirked. "Let her be for the moment"

"I see no reason why it's her you choose out of all pretty girls in the city" Taylor said obviously not satisfied with his friend's decision.

"The body have wants and she is doing good enough".

"Even if she is cheating and squandering your money" Taylor mumbled underneath his breath.

"What did you say?" Eris raised a questioning brow.

"Just know that the Amelia girl has a damned reputation... don't say I didn't tell" Taylor chided. Eris gave him a hard look.

"You have no work?" Eris said. Taylor snorted and walked out of the office. He bumped into someone who was about to enter the office.

"Watch where you're going!" the overly high pitched voice snapped. Surprised, Taylor looked up and his gaze fell on Amelia's face dolled with all kinds of cosmetics. He sneered. Talk of the demoness.

"What do you want?" Taylor snapped back at her. He had no reason to acknowledge her presence.

"What right does a secretary have to ask me that! You rude thing, I'm here to see your boss!" she retorted rudely.

"Well this secretary says my boss is unavailable so off you go" he flicked his wrist like he was chasing an annoying fly.

"You ...you... you—" Amelia muttered turning tomato red in anger.

"Are handsome" he said

"Crazy... audacious.. stupid secretary" she yelled pointing her fingers at his face.

"Well, you can leave now. Shoo" He said nonchalantly.

"Step aside!" she said as she took a step closer to the door but Taylor stood blocking her.

"No way" he snorted. She reach for the door knob but Taylor quickly grab her hand.

"Let go!" She struggled to get out of his tight grip but to no avail.

"What's going on here" Eris who just opened the door said. He looked at his best friend who still held Amelia in tight grip. Immediately, Taylor let go of Amelia's hand and she lost her balance falling unto the ground with a thud.

"Ouch.." She cried looking up to Eris hoping he would help her back to her feet but the latter looked at his friend as if demanding explanation.

"Er... actually boss, she came barging into your office but as I saw you were busy, I quickly explained to her you won't be seeing anyone of no importance at the moment" Taylor said throwing subtle insults at Amelia.

Angrily, Amelia jumped up and charged towards Taylor. She expected Eris to help her deal with the disrespectful secretary but instead, Eris held her hand up in front of her stopping her.

"Why are you here?" Eris asked looking at Amelia expressionlessly. Seeing his expression, Taylor sneered loudly causing Amelia to glare at him.

She turned to Eris and a blinding flashy smile graced her lips. She smiled so widely that one would think her face will split. Eris remained expressionless.

"We are having lunch later in the day. Did you forget?" She said with a flash of frown that left as soon as it came.

"I know but you are not supposed to be here" Eris said.

"Can't I keep my man in company?" She said in a small voice.

"Boss is busy as you can see" Taylor chipped in before Eris could answer. Amelia glared at Taylor and pouted to Eris.

"Taylor, you have unfinished work, go back to your office. Make sure to clear my schedule for the day" Eris instructed.

"But..." Taylor started.

"Clear my schedule for the day" Eris cut him off before Taylor could argue.

'foolish' Taylor thought before walking away not caring about the lady glaring daggers at him.

"So are you still up for lunch?" Amelia asked as soon as Taylor was out of sight.

"You came here unannounced already so we can as well leave" Eris said. He walked back into his office and grabbed his suit jacket. The two used the presidential elevator down the building.

"You are late again" Derek said to Rhea with a frown. Although he was not angry at her, he still felt it was the right thing to correct her since she was not always like that.

"I am really sorry Derek, something came up" Rhea muttered with her head hanging low.

"Stop the innocent act already, I believe you. Just go and change, customers are impatient today" Derek said telling her off. She flashed him a smile before walking out of his office.

She went into the changing room and wore her uniform. She worked part time as a waitress in a five star restaurant.

She took the job at first to help with finance in the house but she continued with the work since it was fun and had no problem.

Everyone thought being a waitress could be stressful especially when waiting on rich folks but at Highlands Bar and Grills where she worked, they have been specially trained on how to patiently wait on customers.

As she walked out of the dressing room, she overheard some waitress gossipping.

"I heard a major big boss is here" waitress 1 said.

"Yeah, he is so young and cute" number 2 fawned.

"He is just a cold guy" number 3 snorted.

"Who cares, he has money and he is handsome... He should just spare me a glance" number 2 continued in her fantasy.

"Dream on, he came with his woman" number 3 said.

"How can you tell..."

They went on and on arguing. Rhea shook her head and walked away. She went into one of the private reserved room that was just occupied to take their orders.

Rhea raised her head and saw two individuals in the room, an overly handsome man that could pass off as a model and a lady. The man blocked her sight of the lady.

The man stared at her for a while and she also stared back like she was hypnotized.

She was stunned for a moment.

"What are you doing?" The lady said causing Rhea to quickly retract her gaze. Then her gaze fell on Amelia.

'The fuck! She is here too?' Rhea groaned inwardly. She regretted entering the room immediately.

She returned Amelia's glare totally forgetting the presence of a godly third party in the room.

Rhea could not afford to lose to Amelia in their glaring contest. Amelia looked like she really wanted to skin Rhea alive. She remembered the embarrassment she had suffered and dug her nails into her palm imagining it as Rhea's neck.

"Ain't you taking our orders?" Eris said bringing the two women back to their senses.

Although the two women were back to normal, it won't take a genius to know they don't get along. Apart from their class difference, there was unsaid enmity between them.

Eris subconsciously looked at Rhea's face much to Amelia's despair. Eris never gazed at her for so long. Her heart ached because she could tell why Eris was still looking at Rhea.

Unknown to Amelia, Eris thought he had seen Rhea somewhere but he couldn't tell. Her face looked like it had imprinted itself in his mind but he still thought she looked familiar and this was not the first time of seeing her.

Since he could put a finger on where he had seen her, he shrugged it off. She was only a waitress after all. Amelia felt so angry that Eris kept on looking at Rhea and the latter did the same, she hit the table hard.

"Bam!"

Rhea jumped and Eris raised a questioning brow.

"You damned waitress! take our orders already and get out!"
