Chapter 46 - Feeling lonely at breakfast

At the Zhu Residence, Breakfast was served by the maids. Zhu Yunqing sat down and slowly started eating as she dressed to set out. She glanced at the empty seats beside her and in front of her.

She felt like she had been living in a fantasy for too long and was finally back to reality. For the past few days being able to dine with Li Qingling had been a wonderful experience, one that she once forgot she had experience in her past life. Having to eat happily with her family was not something she was privileged to have after becoming the empress. So, she thought this was a second chance to experience that. But looking at the situation now, it seemed her actualizing that dream would be farfetched.

Zhu Yunqing swept her gaze across the empty seats once again. She could feel a bit of loneliness as it sets in. She clenched her fists and made a resolve to find a means to help Zhu Yusheng as soon as possible.

She was insecure about the closure of her family. She once had it but her being the empress took everything away from her. She couldn't help but wonder if it was all worth it back then. After all, all she got back was pain, loneliness, and regret.

She was going to make sure that all the bad things that happened to her during her life as an empress was not going to taint this new life. She was going to create a harmonious and happy environment for her and this family. They might not be her real family but now that she was their daughter she was going to take them as her real family.

She kept sighing in between meals and the various thoughts popping up in her head. The maids behind her were busy worried that she did not like the meal as she was sighing and sparsely eating. One of them finally voiced out their thoughts.

"Miss, is the meal not to your liking? Shall we get a different meal for you?" one of the maids asked.

"No, it's fine. I don't have much of an appetite," Zhu Yunqing answered with a smile.

Suddenly she heard Wei Chujiu's voice from the door inquiring about Zhu Yunqing being ready or not from Aunty Zhang.

"I am full! I will be heading to school now!" Zhu Yunqing said, dropping her cutlery and picking up her bag, which she had brought with her earlier. She walked towards Wei Chujiu's voice.

"Good morning! Thought you were going to wake up late like always!" Wei Chujiu cheerfully said as soon as she saw Zhu Yunqing coming out with her bag.

"Good morning! Let's go!" Zhu Yunqing didn't want to comment on what Wei Chujiu said, as she knew that the original Zhu Yunqing had never been a morning person. Most times it was Wei Chujiu who had to come over early to wake her up or Li Qingling who had to force her to wake up early in the mornings.

Just as Zhu Yunqing was about to follow Wei Chujiu, who was heading to her car, she turned back and informed, "Aunty Zhang, I'll also be coming back with Chujiu later on. So, there will be no need to send the car."

"Okay, Little Miss," Aunty Zhang responded.

After she had said her piece, she walked towards the car and sat at the back seat with Chujiu. This time around, Wei Chujiu was not driving. So with an average speed, it took them forty-five minutes to get from the Zhu Residence to their destination, Zhi Shi University.

Zhi Shi University was a renowned school known for its high standards in teaching. It was one of the most popular and highly enrolled University in H City.

Zhu Yunqing had initially been good at studying but her grades began to lag a few paces behind when she started dating Tang Chonglin. Not that she ever came last, but she never spent her time to study anymore. Her young teenage heart was misled by Tang Chonglin and deceived by Zhu Yanyu and Yu An Qiao.

Though the study time of the original Zhu Yunqing was not something to write home about, she was determined to make it work out. After all, she did not become the empress without proper education. She was also one of the best students during her timeline as she never got a failing grade and her grade were always either the highest or second best. She was quite knowledgeable in various areas. Though some may seem archaic now, she was a fast learner and believed she could catch up in no time. She just had to develop a strong will.

Since she and Wei Chujiu were in their first year of University, she felt she would be able to cope. She only needed to adjust well to her new environment and study hard for the rest of her University years.

It seems she has a lot of work cut out for her. This new life was definitely not going to be a smooth sailing journey with her scheming cousin and her dirt bag family lurking around.
