Elaine POV
It has been a few days and the week will end soon and another sleepless night came, ever since I met Nick it has been hard on my life I can't eat, can't sleep, and can't concentrate on my work at school or at home. I laid in bed wide awake, I gave a heavy sigh as I sat up in bed. I didn't know what to do, so I got up and went downstairs to get a cup of water; I poured some cold water in a cup and drank the cool water within a few gulps. I headed back upstairs when went into my room, I decided to read since I couldn't sleep so I lit a candle, I turned to where Liebchen would sleep by her space was empty, I looked around my room and there was no sign of her. The strange thing of the matter is that I have notice she has been gone during the night or sometimes when we would get home from school she would leave before I came into our room. I didn't want to worry, she was a smart cat, I grabbed a book and started to read. I read for about an hour and there was still no sign of Liebchen; I closed the book and decided to go outside for some fresh air, I left my foot wear in the house and went barefoot. I started to walk into the forest, the moon was high in the night sky and I knew it would have been just a few hours left before the moon would set and the sun would rise. As I walked the cold grass and dirt seemed to relaxed me, I came to a spot that I came across many years ago, it was a very peaceful place; trees surrounding a small pond and with the moon and fireflies to light the surrounding area. On many occasions I would come here when I wanted to empty my mind and dip my feet into he water. When I arrived I sat at the edge of the pond and put my feet one by one into the water, I paddled my feet back and forth to cool my legs, I breathed in and out taking in the smell of the pond swamp smell to it, I could even smell the lotus flowers scent that grew in the pond; it was a beautiful place. It was quiet for quite awhile till I heard a rustle in one of the bushes, I got up about to go in defense mode to cast a spell if it was a hungry animal, but a small figure came out of the bushes and Liebchen walked towards me. I let out a breath of relief and sat back down. Liebchen sat down next to me, "where have you been Liebchen?" Liebchen didn't say anything, she stayed quiet for a few minutes. "I was out with someone." "Who Liebchen?" She didn't say anything else after that so I didn't ask again; but if this keeps happening I will ask again and should have to eventually tell me everything. We stayed there for awhile longer before deciding to get back to the house and get whatever sleep I could get left.
Nick POV
I stayed awake in my dark room thinking of Elaine again, we have been getting to know each other for almost two weeks and I'm quit happy with the relationship we are starting to have; I started to get hot and stuffy in my room just thinking about her, so I thought a walk would be nice to cool off for a bit. I walked through the trees to wherever my feet took me, I can easily find my way back home. As I walked in the distance I saw some tiny lights , for sure they were fireflies, I wanted to catch a few but as I approached into the clearing I saw a body movement near a small pond, I stopped in my tracks, I quietly went behind a thick tree and I saw Elaine sitting were the pond was dipping her legs into the water. With the light of the moon and the fireflies around her made a beautiful sight to see, I stayed where I was just taking in the sight before the moment ended. I felt movement next to me and I looked in the direction of non other than Liebchen, we made eye contact for about a few seconds, then I signaled a finger over my mouth so she wouldn't tell Elaine I was here. I guess Liebchen got the hint and continued walking towards Elaine. I stayed hidden watching them, wishing I was beside her, my arm around her waist and her head leaning against my shoulder. When she started getting up and walking away, I'm sure she was heading home; I did the same as well when Elaine was out of my sight. I quietly went back upstairs to my room when I entered the house, when I got in I notice that Kara was wide awake, "where have you been?" "I was out for a walk Kara... Now go back to sleep." She did as she was told and I climbed into bed. I closed my eyes and wondered how come Elaine was out this late at night too.
