Alfonso's guess turned out to be right, they weren't far from Dortmund when he sensed 18 Assassins hiding between the trees, waiting to ambush them.
He lifted his fist, signaling them to stop. "There is an ambush in front of us. I will draw them out while you guys retreat, get ready to fight if they ignore me and aim for you guys."
The others looked at him in surprise before staring to the direction he pointed at, they saw nothing but trees.
Alfonso took a deep breath, his pitch black eyes only looking ahead while he took aim with his Kar 98k...
He perceived through his Vibration and Seismic Senses how the Assassins were hiding behind trees, looking in their general direction.
Alfonso changed his target, 'Using a Kar 98k isn't that bad after getting used to it. It is different from a G36 Rifle I once used but I like it...Let's hope that they give up when I go all out, no need to hold back!'
The bone bullet inside the barrel was vibrating at a high frequency but not strong enough to spoil his accuracy, he pulled the trigger, watching with anticipation how fast it traveled through the air.
'I don't need a scope when I have Seismic and Vibration Senses to lock on them!'
Nik and the others behind him watched with wide opened eyes and mouths how he shot with his Kar 98k. What shocked them wasn't the incredible speed at which the bone bullet was traveling but the fact that there was no sound. There was no sharp sound coming from the shot...
This was the second Skill Alfonso created, Silent Shot. He used his Seismokinesis to manipulate the vibration of his bone bullets. Its high frequency vibration prevented the bone bullet from producing any sound while flying through the air. A deadly shot that could barely be seen and not heard. Alfonso accidentally created the Silent Shot Skill, his initial plan was to manipulate the vibration of the bone bullets to give it a higher penetrating power which it did, the silent effect was the icing on the cake...
A second shot was fired right after the cooldown was over, that shot was even faster than the first...
A sharp sound broke the silence in the forest as the second shot was faster than the first...The second shot slammed into a tree where one Assassin was hiding behind. The Assassin heard the second shot beforehand, crouching down, thinking that his cover was enough but...
The tree was violently blasted apart when the second bone bullet slammed into it. An intense shockwave erupted upon contact, sending the unlucky Assassin flying while spurting blood...
Four Assassins near him were shocked when they saw their companion sent flying. They stood frozen behind the trees when suddenly another Assassin cried out in horror, looking down at the hole in his chest where his heart was supposed to be. The Silent Shot had penetrated the tree and the Assassin without creating a single sound...
Alfonso's second shot was the first skill he created, Shock Shot. He used his Shockwave Manipulation to store a shockwave inside the bone bullet. It was a good way to improve his control over his Seismokinesis. He didn't stop there, shooting out Silent Shots and Shock Shots one after another everytime the cooldown of his Kar 98k was over.
Another intense shockwave blasted another Assassin behind a tree away who spurted out blood under his hood. The other Assassins finally recovered from their shock and acted immediately. Alfonso sensed them coming out behind the trees, rushing towards them...
'I really need to buy holsters for my Guns...' Thought Alfonso while taking out a Desert Eagle and keeping shooting.
More and more Assassins either died or were injured under his intense fire. They were only 40 meters away from him when they suddenly stopped their advance. Alfonso sensed them retreating while picking up the corpses and injured companions.
He sighed in delight while wiping away the sweat from his forehead. Shooting so many times and using his Seismokinesis in such a delicate fashion drained his stamina quickly.
Alfonso had been aiming for that result, he knew that the Assassins couldn't let themselves be captured or leave any evidence behind. That was how the Main Clans of Dortmund acted to not clash against the A.S.U...
He signaled the others that it was alright to continue their way back to Dortmund. They looked at him with respect and gratitude when they passed the place where some of the assassins died. The blood on the ground revealed that he wasn't lying when he said that there were people ahead and it was the evidence that he did fight them. They didn't even see a glimpse of the enemies but Alfonso managed to detect them and even forced them to retreat in defeat...
They didn't meet any other people till finally reaching Dortmund's walls. When the Slayers guarding the entrance heard of their encounter with Assassins and that 5 Slayers were killed...They were outraged, giving them three jeeps and some Senior Slayers escorted them to the A.S.U branch...
The higher ups launched an investigation after they reported what happened and dispatched some high ranking Slayers to burn the corpses from the deceased Slayers. That had to be done because animals would mutate if they ate them and that was dangerous as the mutations would spread like fire in a forest.
Jonas was fine but the two survivors who were injured were immediately tended to by the A.S.U while Nik and Alfonso had to answer more questions...
Nik followed Alfonso to his room where Alfonso took out a bottle of whiskey from the fridge, pouring it into their glasses.
"You know what this means right?" Alfonso asked Nik while taking a sip.
Nik looked down at the whiskey in his glass without answering. Alfonso looked at his brother and sighed, "We crossed paths with the Kruse Clan, I killed some of their people. We interfered in their business and are now their targets too..."
Nik didn't look up, taking a large gulp of the whiskey, he nodded slowly.
Alfonso stared at him and his brown eyes met Nik's hazel eyes when he looked up. He tapped his finger on the table for a moment, "You will stay with me from now on, I will train you until I think that you are strong enough. All the missions will be done by us together, have you been promoted yet?"
"Not yet.." Answered Nik, Alfonso nodded, taking another sip.
The two of them talked for a few hours until it became dark outside.
Alfonso stood alone on the roof of the building watching the city coming into life at night. His gaze turned towards the direction of District 1 where the Main Clans lived, his eyes pitch black...
He wasn't worried about the Kruse Clan or others thinking that he had a kinetic ability because of him using his two skills. They would just think that he was a very talented Slayer as many Senior Slayers developed their own unique tricks. He heard of a Slayer that used a bow as his main weapon, he could also shoot completely silent arrows without relying on a fancy kinetic ability like him. There was another one who could control the movement of the arrows after firing them, or a Berserker that could shake the earth beneath him just by walking...
'We have to grow stronger and go on some missions...'
Alfonso bought a few things the next day like new sets of military clothes, a quiver and rented a jeep for one month.
There was a change of plans as Jonas joined them, the two other Slayers avoided Jonas after knowing that someone was after his life which Alfonso thought was idiotic. "Do they think that the Kruse Clan will leave them simply alone?"
Nik shrugged while putting the reserve petrol into the trunk of the jeep. Jonas also stored his bag in the trunk, "Are you really sure about going to Bochum? That city is infested with zombies."
Alfonso nodded, "It's good, we can use them to distract people if they come after us. I already accepted the scout mission for that region and you guys need to become stronger." Explained Alfonso while lighting up a cigarette.
"You talk like you are stronger than us..." Commented Jonas a bit annoyed to which made Alfonso smirk, "Because I am stronger, now get into the car we are leaving."
Jonas looked a bit offended at Alfonso, Nik smiled while shaking his head, "He is right Jonas, you have already seen him in action."
Jonas thought back how Alfonso handled the Assassins, saving them and couldn't refute. Nik and Alfonso were the only ones willing to team up with him, a Slayer from a different city that was being targeted by Main Clans. He sighed, sitting on the backseat of the jeep.
Alfonso started the engine, driving out from the A.S.U branch...Many pairs of eyes were watching them from the shadows...
