Shen's P.O.V
I waited for General Chen to react strongly but instead, he only broke his chopsticks and heaved a sigh. It took me off guard. I guarded myself. I wanted to be able to defend myself if he ever launches an attack or probably assault me whenever. But nothing came.
"We're still figuring it out." I choked with Lady Chen's reply. I looked at General Chen's reaction and again, he only broke his chopsticks and then proceeded. He spared me no glance and he kept it that way until the end of supper.
Thankfully, no one said anything after that. I managed to eat unscathed. It was great. But I wonder later. Just the thought of the rest of my evening ending on a bad note made me shiver. I turn to look at Lady Chen and she blushed before looking away.
What was that?
Later that evening, Klein and General Chen approached me at the garden where we are currently at. Somehow, they seemed serious. I took in Klein's body gesture and General Chen's serious face. They were about to discuss something serious with me.
"Shen, I have yet to ask you."
"What is it, General Chen. Why so formal?"
"It's about your parents, kid."
"M-my parents?"
"Apparently so. This fine man asks who and where your parents are."
Oh, General Chen didn't ask about what they do. That's a relief. He doesn't care about my financial status. Which is nothing. And I have nothing.
"Klein told me that I better ask you."
"Ah, I believe my parents will have the pleasure in meeting you."
General Chen takes a glance at Klein who only nodded his head.
"When would that be?"
"Ah, well, they said they want to visit here before we go back to the Island."
General Chen sighs before nodding. They excused themselves and left me alone. I guess it's better to meet the parents before actually tying the knot with the couple. I apologize, General Chen, I do not know when exactly do my parents plan on visiting. Those people are as busy as they can get.
As the evening deepen, the more I feel anxious. I was anxious to lay in bed with Lady Chen. Afraid that I might actually become a wolf and devour the maiden. She was too much for me to handle. I can't seem to control myself. Though she felt insecure too, that I didn't touch her. I wonder. Lady Chen is such a precious gem to me, what am I to her? Am I as important to her as she is to me?
"Goodness. This is all bringing me a headache. Thinking is not for me."
I wander around the enormous manor, hoping to actually get lost but I somehow memorized the structure, the hallways and where they lead to. As I walk, I suddenly have the urge to find something. The problem was that, I don't know what it was. My feet drag me to every room, my eyes search for something and my heart anticipating. What was it that I was trying to find? I heard it call me.
Shen.
It was calling my name. What was it? It felt strange to me how familiar the voice seemed. It was a voice of passion and so much warmth it had ignited in my very core. It shook me. My ears tingled, as if it was breathed on. My heart thumping louder with every step.
Shen.
My head swiftly turns to my right, as if it was there. My feet drag me again, room to room, until there was only Lady Chen's room. I reach out for the handle but stopped when I already touched handle. I froze. Was she the one calling me? Who was I expecting if it wasn't her? Who was calling me? Now that I feel like it isn't Lady Chen, I felt guilty for some reason.
But I wasn't sure yet.
I had my hopes up high. The voice that called me was sweet and alluring that it made me search the whole manor. If that wasn't Lady Chen, then I wonder who had given me the drive to search for the owner of that voice.
I opened the door and there stood Lady Chen in all her graciousness. She looked heavenly. The winds gently stroke her hair. Her eyelashes seemed like stars, shining, and so long at that. Her pale complexion complimenting her silver hair. My heart dropped again. It was truly Lady Chen. I heard her thoughts. But how?
"You came," she says every so sweetly.
She was already in her undergarments and she looked divine. Was this the night? Is this the supposed night? A lot of her skin was showing and I don't know if I should be happy or not.
"It was your voice," she makes her way towards me. Giving me the eyes that she was feasting upon me.
"Yes," she was hungry and she wasn't hiding it.
"How," she pushes me down the bed and climbed on top of me.
"It's a secret," she removes the tie on my waist and slowly yet seductively pushes my clothes down.
She was a godsend. I was entirely trapped. She had successfully trapped me.
"Lady Chen,"
"You were late so I had to catch you."
She transformed into something so dangerous. No amount of power can restrain this woman nor is comparable to even repel against her. Like a magnet, my hand found her thighs and massaged me softly.
She leans in and whispered,
"Stop fighting your inner demon."
I bit my lip, trying to stay focus. She nibbles on my earlobe, trying to add fuel to the fire. I groan, not wanting to pull myself together. I want to devour her but I don't know, something is stopping me.
"Lady Chen,"
"Shen,"
"M-"
"M?"
"Marry me?"
Lady Chen stopped in her tracks and shifted herself so she can look at me. It made me embarrass. What was that about? What did I say.
"Are you guilty that I might not want this?"
"N-no, Lady Chen."
Crap.
"Then what is it?"
"I want to marry you."
"Didn't I already say yes?"
"Yeah, you did."
"Do you not want me, Shen?"
My eyes shot wide at her words. She told me this and I already said I wouldn't hold back. The more I avoid this topic, the more Lady Chen will get frustrated and I don't want that. I should face this like a man. I shouldn't be like this.
I grab Lady Chen's night gown and pulled it down, revealing her beautiful twins.
"You have the most gorgeous skin." I kiss her shoulders to her collarbone.
"You're the prettiest in my eyes."
I grab her left breast and massaged it.
"Mhm, your hands are warm."
Using my right hand, I tuck her chin in between my fingers and angled her face so that we can kiss. Since she was sitting on top of me and seeing that we're just the same height, my lap gave her additional height, which is hard for me to kiss her.
"Lady Chen, I love you."
"I-"
"Hey, brat!"
Klein suddenly barges in on us. Me and Lady Chen stared at him blankly. He stood there dumbfounded, as if he saw something that he shouldn't.
I immediately crafted my black flames and sent it to him as did Lady Chen with an ice dagger.
"Fuck!" he mutters before running for his life.
I closed the door using my wind element and sighed. I looked at Lady Chen who was really red and had her face down. I chuckled.
"Lady Chen, are you alright?"
"Uh, yes, I'm quite fine. Are you?" I shrug,
"Could be worse."
She nods and gets of off me. I grab her hand and kisses it before slipping in my clothing. She smiles a little to me, quite a bit warmly, before changing into another clothing, appropriate to go outside with.
"I'll kill him." Lady Chen mutters under her breath which made me chuckle even more.
"Sure, Princess."
We knew that when he barged in here, he had something to say but we were too 'occupied' and too 'threatened' to actually hear it. Lady Chen and I proceeded the living area where everyone was at and my parents. My parents are already here? This fast? I look at General Chen and he was actually sweating in this cold weather. Lady Chen and I exchanged looks and proceeded to sit at the vacant chairs.
"I thought you'd take a few more days." my mother embraced me before kissing my forehead with a smile.
"We've missed you so we sped it up a little."
"Yeah, brat. I heard you let your flame chase Klein." the old hug smiles and laughs at the burnt Klein.
"Heh." was all Klein could say.
"My, my, you look more lovely every time I see you, dear." mother turned to Lady Chen and hugged her. Lady Chen hugged her back and gave a small smile before smiling to the old hag.
"As do you."
"Ehem" General Chen cleared his throat.
Now that the greeting was done, well for us, General Chen wants answers. My parents knew that that's why they came prepared.
"So-" General Chen started but was cut off by the old hag.
"Look, General Chen, if you let my daughter marry yours, we will be working with you for free."
"Oh?" General Chen seemed confused and interested. He still doesn't know who they are so I guess that's why he's still a bit skeptical.
"Here," mother unfolded a long silk containing MANY weapons that she had forged in the past. Two were actually glowing which signifies that it was quite a powerful weapon.
General Chen's jaws dropped to the ground at the very treasure that my mother was letting his eyes feast upon. When I chuckled and he noticed, he cleared his throat again and kept his composure. As he talks, his eyes kept glancing on the treasures.
"Who are you really?"
"Does the General really wanna know?" Klein asks.
"Yes. For these two to actually own such high-end weapons and their daughter fighting like she's way powerful than me, how can I not. I want to know who my daughter's in-laws are and what they do and that she's not in danger."
"Father," Lady Chen was touched and we all know that.
"Well, well, looks like you really love your daughter."
"Of course."
I look at Lady Chen who had a small smile on her lips as she looks at her father. I smiled a little felt warm as I feel their love for one another. I look at the old hag and my face scrunched. Gods, why does she look like she's planning something.
"Your daughter knows who we are."
General Chen looks at Lady Chen and Lady Chen only nodded.
"They're the ones who saved us before, Father."
"Which one?"
"Three hundred years ago."
General Chen couldn't say anything, only looked at the both of them. My mother went to sit on the old hag's lap, snaked her arms on the old hag's shoulder and neck. I still can't understand how they are so affectionate even with people watching. Am I adopted or what?
"Can I test it out?"
After General Chen said that, the old hag and him had a duel which didn't even last for five seconds. General Chen was already in bruises and he couldn't see the old hag's movements. Nor can I. Did she advance again? What tier is she already? Goodness.
After that, General Chen watches as how mother could forge such high-ranking weapons. After the demonstration was done, General Chen kneeled down.
"But you cannot tell anyone that we have been lurking around."
"Yes, Master."
"What? Stop with that. If it weren't for my daughter finding yours, we wouldn't have met." the old hag patted General Chen's shoulder like it's nothing.
"We're connected through our off springs. No need to be formal." mother inserts and also pats General Chen's shoulder.
"No wonder you're so powerful." Lady Chen's sister suddenly showed up out of nowhere which surprised me.
"You're going to kill me someday."
"I'm going to kill you tomorrow." she laughs a little and looks at our parents.
"My sister found a gem, huh?"
Now that I think about it, I wonder if they ever get compared. I shouldn't be running off with my mouth open if I want to leave a good impression. And I still don't know her name though I want to know. It's a bit late to ask for her name if we'd already dined together.
Somehow, our parents had an agreement regarding our marriage which was a little too soon.
