A tall man came in, he's slimmer than the king but still well built. He looks to be about 30 something, he had no beard on his face, a clean man. He bows to the king and nods at me. His eyes say nothing but that tells me that this man is loyal to his King as well as his other subjects. Otherwise, he would have judged me therefore questioning his king's decision. What kind of King decided to make his enemy's general his queen. A crazy one.
The man looks around the messy tent and the king's hands, remaining expressionless, and looks back to the king. They held their eyes for a while before the man says.
"Good evening my King, lady Valeryie. I am Manuel, the King's attendant" he bowed and looked at me with his grey eyes. I wondered what he thought about what we were doing a few minutes ago. Would he ever thought that his King was suckling me and then it comes all back, I got to stop thinking about it? As if the King knows what I was thinking, he looks at me and smirked.
"Hi" it turned my gaze back at Manuel. He wore an armor underneath that cloak, so this man is also a warrior, sworn to protect his King.
"We are ready for your departure to the capital city. I'm here to escort you, my lady"
Lady? Ugh, it sounds so girly. And the capital city?
"Don't call me that" I said to him
He looked at his King for approval but Orion remained the same "Apologies my lady, as I serve the King and obey his wishes"
I glared at Orion but he just smirked back
"Capital city? I thought we were going tomorrow, o mighty King" I said sarcastically. I went to get my sword, wiped the blood on it.
Manuel tried to look undisturbed or maybe he is undisturbed, gosh are all of his men stone or something.
The king looks back at me, narrowing his eyes, with a deep voice that sounds so commanding he said "Change of plans, we're going now"
I raised one of my eyebrows and crossed my arms, questioning him "Why the change of plans?"
He sighs "let's just say there are lots of people who want you dead" he nods at Manuel and he went out of the tent.
"Figures, why not let them try"I sheath my sword, I'm actually itching for some fight, to pent out my frustration. I put all my belongings back in the duffle bag, mostly tools for sharpening my weapons.
"As much as I'd like to see you fight, I'd rather not see my future queen hurt" he went to one of the dressers, pulling out a sword and tucked it at his hips.
"For one, I never said I'll be your queen" I took my left boot and put it on and then another "Two, i can take care of myself"
"I'm sure you can general but you will be my queen whether you want to or not"
I scoffed as I put on my arm braces.
"Or what? you'll march my country and destroy them? Classic"
"I will if I have to" he leaned to a pole in the tent and crossed his arms, determination on his face.
"Right, you should try that 'cause you'll probably be dead before you can do that. By me" i put my body armor next, I've been alone all this time so I don't really need help dressing up.
"Aren't you witty, perfect for a queen" he remarks? "Don't worry darlin', I'll make sure my will goes on, a King never goes back on his word, a good one at least"
I don't doubt that seeing how loyal his subjects are, but killing him could be worth it. Maybe.
"And what word are you willing to give me, your unwilling future Queen"
"Didn't think you had a price"
I stopped and looked at him right in the eyes.
"Everything has a price"
I stood upright, the King remained silent as he watched me intently, making me uncomfortable with his gaze, like I'm still naked when in fact I'm already covered in 20 pounds worth of armor, I pick my spear and put it on my back when he broke the silence
"And what is your price general?"
I pick my bag and walked up to him towards the tent's entrance, looked at him briefly, and smirked "Guess you'll find out" and walked out of the tent.
