Things had finally settled. The boys got Bo all moved in and everything put into place. School mornings were interesting with one more body to get ready and there was now one more pick up in the driveway. Bo had jumped into doing the farm chores like he'd been born into it and so far Melody was still being treated like a little kid. He even called her baby girl! Melody had taken extra time putting on makeup, more time on her hair, stressed over what to wear but nothing would give this boy a hint.
Melody was just coming out of the bathroom in her towel as she was thinking of new ways to get his attention and she ran straight into a brick wall named Bo.
"Oof" Melody put her hands up as Bo's went around her to keep her upright. "You're like a rock." Melody laughed as she looked up at Bo.
Bo's gaze went from her eyes to her mouth and she swore she felt his hands tighten on her towel. "Yeah, everywhere" Bo mumbled as he let go of her and continued to the bathroom.
Melody walked into her room feeling flustered. That look and the way he stared at her lips, she really thought he was going to kiss her. She wanted him to so much but still he turned her away. She'd heard the stories at school, it wasn't like he didn't like his ladies. Melody would just have to try harder.
"But Bo," Hank said as Melody came down the stairs "it'll be faster if you learn how to ride."
" I can just keep using my truck" Bo said as she walked into the kitchen. The three boys turned to look at her.
"You got a hot date?" Billy asked as he loaded his plate with French toast.
"He got a name?" Hank sized her up as he sat down at the table.
Bob didnt say anything but his eyes checked her over from her head to her feet. She was wearing a plaid shirt unbuttoned to play peek a boo with a black bra. She left it untucked and not buttoned all the way down so different ways she moved you could see the cutest of belly buttons. Her black jeans looked painted on and her toenails were painted blood red. Bo felt all the blood rush to the lower part of his body as he thought of the things he wanted to do to her. This morning with the towel that he so badly wanted to pull off and now to the shirt he wanted to rip open. His jeans were definitely tighter in a certain area. And he just finished a cold shower.
"I'm going to school you nitwits," Melody threw at them as she speared a slice of French toast onto her plate. "Besides I can't get a date with footballers as brothers" Melody complained as she poured syrup on her toast. "Oh just wait until next year when you guys are all gone to college..I'll have pick of the boys" Melody laughed and popped a piece of toast into her mouth.
Bo watched as her pink tongue darted out to lick the syrup off her lips. Ugh he was dying over here. He wanted to taste the syrup on her lips, feel her tongue against his. Yup gonna need another cold shower.
"Dad'll beat them away then" Hank laughed and turned his attention to Bo. "So Bo it'll be faster if you ride and Melody is the best teacher around."
"Wait, what?" Melody looked between everyone for some guidance in the conversation.
"Hank you can't just tell Bo he's gotta and then volunteer Melody" their dad leaned forward in his chair. "Hank is right though. Where we've moved the cows would be faster and easier to get to on horses. If it's ok with Bo and Melody," Carl looked at Hank, "maybe she could teach him to ride. She is the best one I know. "
Bo looked at my dad then towards me. He had that look like before but I still couldn't read it. "If Melody is up for it, I'll try to learn." Bo said as he just signed his own death at having to spend more time with her. He grimaced at the thought of more cold showers.
Melody saw the pained look and thought it was over him having to spend time with her. That look squashed her excitement of alone time with him. She guessed he just wasn't into her and that was it. "Yeah it's no problem we can start after school." Melody got up to put her empty plate in the sink. "Thanks mom, see you after school." Melody headed for the door.
"You can jump in the truck with me if you want instead of the bus. " Bo offered as she picked up her backpack.
" Nah, I'm good. Wouldn't want any of the cheerleaders thinking they got competition." Melody sniped as she walked out of the house.
"Bo," Billy warned "there something going on?"
Bo looked at the four faces looking at him and he bust out laughing. "Are you kidding? She's your kid sister!"
The boys started laughing with him but Carl only smiled and Sally looked to where her daughter had just left.
Melody heard Bo's words as she headed off the porch. Kid sister! She was a woman, ok a young one but still a woman. She wanted him to see her so badly but nothing she did would change how he saw her. Her best friend Jenny told her that she heard Bo only dated older girls. He didn't even date in his grade, not that the cheerleaders aren't trying, but he likes them mature.
Melody didn't know how to grow older any faster then she was, so how would she ever get him to see her.
