Justin's POV
My feet wouldn't move. I was expecting to see Vincent standing there, but instead, someone else stood in his place. "Justin, who is that?" Shifting, I stood up, pulling Melanie with me. I moved to keep her behind me while turning back towards the figure. "My brother." I put as much venom as humanly possible into my words. "What? You never told me you had a brother." Keeping my eye on my brother, I reached back and grabbed Melanie's hand. "I don't tell anyone about him because he betrayed my pack. He's the reason my parents are dead. He's the reason I had to become Alpha so young. He's the reason for everything!" By the end of my sentence, I was shouting. My parents would still be here if it weren't for him. My brother ruined everything. "What, Justin? You didn't like the fact that I was going to become Alpha?" I sneered at him and took a step forward, but Melanie held me back. "Justin, what does he mean?" My brother laughed and leaned up against a tree. "Oh, I take it you didn't tell her? Well, Melanie. I rejected my mate and claimed another woman to be my Luna. But this idiot here ran to dear old dad and told on me. My father took away my title and banished me from the pack." I could feel the anger building in Melanie. I attempted to calm her through our bond, but it was no use. "Wow, I guess rejecting your mate runs through your family. But you especially! Why in the hell would you claim someone else as your Luna? Don't you know what that does to your mate?" Melanie tried to push past me, but I wouldn't budge. Looking up, I watched my brother's face turn from cockiness to anger. "Don't shout at me? Who do you think you are?" I could tell he tried to use Melanie's Alpha tone, but she just laughed at him. "Did you just try to use your Alpha tone on me? That won't work, buddy." Instead of retorting back, my brother smiled and started walking towards us. I moved fully back in front of Melanie and growled at him. "Stay the hell away from her and stay the hell away from my territory. As far as I know, you are rouge and are banished from this pack." My brother just smiled and turned around. While he was walking away, he shouted out in a sing-song voice. "She will be mine, Justin. I will have your mate in my arms, and I will make her my Luna. She will be the best Luna ever." I watched as my brother faded into the darkness before mind linking Dillion.
'Dillion get the trackers now.' 'Yes, Alpha, who are we tracking?' Sighing, I pulled Melanie back towards the house. 'My brother, he threatened to take Melanie away. I am taking her to the books.' I felt caution through the mind link. 'The books Alpha? The White Wolf?' Melanie looks up at me in confusion, and I just shake my head. 'Yes, Dillion, it's time she learned what the White Wolf means.' 'Yes, Alpha, we will begin tracking your brother.' Turning towards Melanie, I held her close as we made our way back to the packhouse. "Justin, why keep your brother a secret from me, and what does the White Wolf mean?" I avoided eye contact while moving quickly. "My father disowned him after he tried to take another as his Luna. The White Wolf is something you need to read. I cannot explain it here." Melanie got quiet and followed me into the house, we reached my office, and I shut both doors and lock them. Walking over, I grabbed a book that is pushed out further than the others. It was a switch that opened the bookcase to a secret room. I held out my hand to Melanie and brought her into the room. There sat five books containing all the information people have collected over hundreds of years about the White Wolf. "My father found out you were the White Wolf and told me to watch over you and to make sure you never use your powers unless it was life or death." Melanie nodded and walked over to the books. "In the books, we found out that you were the last surviving White pure-bred wolf. That is the reason so many people want you." Melanie looked up at me, her eyes wide. "I'm the last one? Why?" I shook my head, looking down. "No one knows. It's not in any of the books." Melanie sat down and opened the first one. Meanwhile, I stepped back and contacted Dillion. 'Dillion any news about the whereabouts of my Brother or how he got in?' I looked over at Melanie and watched as she flipped through the pages. 'No Alpha, we found a bag that contained scent coverage spray. He hid his scent and walked in.' Cursing, I punched the wall next to me, creating a crater in the stone wall. 'Collect it and head back to the packhouse.' 'Yes, Alpha.' I took a couple of deep breaths and then looked back over at Melanie. To my surprise, she almost finished reading the finale book. Walking over to the table, I sat down. Melanie closed the fifth book and sighed. "So, from what I read, correct me if I'm wrong. No one knows how the other White Wolf's died. But people did know some information about each one that came into existence. Like Kendra unknown last name had the power of weather manipulation. Sedric unknown last name had the power of levitation. Sandra unknown last name had the power to change her appearance into any person human or supernatural creature. The last one, though, no one knows anything about, no appearance, no name, nothing except the ability. They could control nature. Just like me. The one difference is I was able to control the trees, and I could create a storm. Maybe I have a hybrid of abilities? Also, it says that none of the White Wolves were ever related. They would just appear, weird, right?"
I listened to Melanie. She found out more than I have even after scanning the books. "That all sounds right, except I did know the last White Wolf." Melanie looked up at me in surprise. "Who were they?" I looked down and fiddled with my hands. "His name was Frank Harrison. Your father was a White Wolf. He possessed the ability to control nature. Just like you. Except no other White Wolves had ever been related. You are the first one. So I believe that means you will have mixed abilities. So far, we know that you can control nature and manipulate the weather. Maybe you can use other abilities as well." Melanie sat there staring at me, still trying to process what I just said. I placed a hand on her shoulder, but she stood up and shrugged it off. "My father was a White Wolf?" Tears started building up in her eyes. I stood up and pulled her to my chest. She tried to break free but eventually let me hold her. "He never let me shift in front of the others. I thought he just hated the way my wolf looked. He always told me to make sure no one saw my wolf. I just felt that he was strict. I called him a terrible father." Tears started pouring down Melanie's face. She buried her face into my chest. "The last night I saw him, I said I hated him. I didn't know." A sob cut off her sentence. Her knees gave out not soon after. I caught her and picked Melanie up. Walking out of the room, I headed to our bedroom. Placing her down on the bed, I brushed her hair out of her face cupping her cheek in the process. "Melanie, you didn't know because your father was protecting you. He didn't want you to know. He knew that you loved him. Even in his last moments, he knew." Melanie sniffed and looked up at me. "How do you know?" Sighing, I wiped away the stray tears that fell from her eyes. "I know because that was the last thing he had said to me."
*Flashback*
I ran over to Frank, his chest exposed and bleeding fast. Frank had marks all over, too many to count. Each wound was bleeding profusely. I knew nothing I did could save him, so I picked his head up and rested it on my legs. He reached up and pulled my head down to his mouth. "Tell Melanie, I love her. I never stopped loving her, and I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't tell her." Soon the grip that Frank had on my neck disappeared as his heart stopped beating. "Frank, you need to tell her yourself. No, you can't die like this. You are a White Wolf. You were supposed to teach her. Frank! NO! Get up!" I shook his still body until my father arrived and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Justin, Frank's gone." I pushed away his hand and clutched onto what is left of Frank's shirt.
*End Flashback*
Melanie sat up and looked at me. "You. Were you the boy, my father was always talking about? He always talked about one boy that made him smile." Now it was my turn for my eyes to start watering. "Yea, he looked after me anytime my father had to leave. He always made sure I was okay." Melanie hugged me as one tear escaped my eye. "He loved us both. I'm glad you were there for his last moments." Smiling, I hugged her back and nuzzled my head into her neck, breathing in her scent.
After a few moments of sitting there, Melanie pulled away, wiping her face. She sat cross-legged and looked me in the eyes. "I need to figure out my other abilities. If your brother is threatening to take me away, I have to be prepared for anything." Nodding, I got up and held out my hand. "You ready to find your abilities?" Melanie nodded, smiling; she took my hand, and I pulled her up. "Then let's go figure these powers out." We headed out the door, not knowing what was coming.

Unknown POV
"Prepare for a war." As soon as I stepped into my packhouse, I greeted by my Beta. "Yes, Alpha." He hurried away, alerting the rest of the pack that a war was coming. I need that White Wolf. When I have her in my arms, I will mate her and keep going until I create another White Wolf. I will be unstoppable. That White Wolf will be mine. "Jason!" A figure appeared behind me the moment I finished shouting. "Yes, Alpha?" I looked at him, grinning. "Get me, Cindy." Jason nodded and rushed away.
I could hear his footsteps moving fast through the halls. I waited until I heard Cindy's heels clicking against the floorboards. "You called for me, Alpha. What do you need?" Cindy stood a few feet from me wearing the shortest skirt I had ever seen. "I did. I need you to satisfy me till I get the White Wolf." Cindy nodded and stretched out her hand. "We can use my room to make sure yours stays pure for the White Wolf." I smiled like the intelligence in this girl. "Keep up that attitude, and you will be able to move up from Omega rank." Cindy smiled and pulled me towards her room. Closing the door, I thought about the White Wolf. Oh, I can't wait to have her in my clutches.
