Chapter 8 - Chapter 7: Phone

Prof. Guligs stares at the class before him with his cold eyes. The cloak covered his face as for only he knew what it means. His eyes remained darken as he stares at the students before him as the candles lights flicker off of his cloak. Engulfing it into a warm embrace, but it was quickly turning cold against Prof. Guligs' skin as he stands still. Letting the students stare at him with confusion as they entered the classroom while trying not to bump into any of the candles.

His eyes shown to be dead inside as he stares at them without emotions. His voice was rasp as he begins, "Take a seat kids..." It was as though he was voicing for someone else, preferably a demon.

The students cautiously takes a seat in their assigned seats as they all kept their eyes on him as they all begin to sit down in their cold seats. Noticing that each desk either has 1 or 2 candles. The only desk who has 3 candles is an empty desk at the front of the room.

All of the candles were either red or white. Signifying something that Edward nor his friends could figure out. The only desk that has a different color candle was the empty desk; the candle was pale blue and the flame was much bigger then any of the other flames.

The board was wiped clean from anything that involves history, the only thing that it did show was Rebecca's lifeless body in pictures that Prof. Guligs was able to get. Each picture was a different angle that has shown the wounds that has been inflicted onto Rebecca as the overhead revealed each picture in a slideshow that continued on showing the students each picture of Rebecca's body. Her head lying down next to her feet as her eyes remained opened. The pictures gave each of the students a bad feeling of what is bound to happen in Prof. Guligs class.

Prof. Guligs walks over to the desk that has the 3 candles. His fingers glazing over it as he stops fully next to it. He turns his head to where his eyes were looking onto the students before him. No emotions were shown into the gaze as his eyes lands onto Edward who was looking at the pictures before him. Trying to study them as he turns his head away. He clears his voice as he stands up straight, "Students... Tomorrow we WILL be having our field trip. No other questions." He turns around to face the students as he stares at them all before walking out of the classroom. The door slammed shut as the students wait in the classroom. Not sure whether to answer or not.

Jordan turns his head over to his friends. His expression looks as though he was not sure in what to say or anything.

Edward puts a hand onto Jordan's head, "We aren't sure what is going on."

Rosy gets up from her seat and she walks over to the empty desk before her. Trying to see why there is 3 candles instead of 1 or 2. She notices that the pale blue candle is in the center between the red and white candles. It's longer then the other 2 candles as it stuck out the most. Her eyes looks down onto the desk to see that Rebecca's phone was on it. Her right hand covers her mouth as she turns her head over to Edward. Her eyes screamed out horror as she watches her brother get up from his seat and walk over to her.

Edward walks up to Rosy's right side as he looks down to see Rebecca's phone on the desk. His eyebrows narrows as he begins to question as why Prof. Guligs has her phone. His eyes looks up to see Prof. Guligs reentering the class. His eyes are bloodshot as he stares at Rosy and Edward.

Rosy stares at her teacher before being dragged behind Edward's back. Her head pokes out as she stares Prof. Guligs stares at them.

Prof. Guligs turns on the lights as he walks over to the desk and picks up the phone. His eyes turns onto the 2 students, "Go sit down... I didn't tell you both to stand up..." His voice starting to become unrecognizable. It is starting to sound more and more as though someone was speaking through him, a demon to be more precise.

Edward grabs onto Rosy and walks back over to their desks. He was no longer sure if Prof. Guligs is Prof. Guligs or not. The voice was creeping him out, but he now needs answers. It was no longer in debate if they have to avoid the church. He knows that he needs to go to the church...

Prof. Guligs blew out all of the candles and brought them over to his desk. After he blew out the candles and bringing them over to his desk, he took off the cloak to reveal his normal clothes and puts the cloak over his desk chair. His eyes wondered onto the students before him as he doesn't say a word. It wasn't that he can't say a word, but it is rather he does not want to. He believes that the students are getting onto something. His legs forced him to walk to the empty desk with the broke phone on it and picks it up with his left hand. He holds it a bit above his head, "Do any of you know what this is?"

Markil says with a snarky remark, "Rebecca's phone."

Prof. Guligs looks over at Markil before looking back at the class, "It is Rebecca's phone." He begins to walk around the students, "This phone was given to me by the police so that I can show you all what happens when you guys come across an occult."

Li takes out a piece of paper and begins writing down on it with his black pen before he folds it up and hands it over to Edward.

Edward grabs the folded paper and unfolds it to see what Li written down:

I don't think that the police has given Prof. Guligs the phone...

Edward looks over at Li and mouths, "We will talk about it after school."

Li gives Edward a thumbs up before watching his friend hide the paper in his bookbag. Not listening that Prof. Guligs was talking about the field trip again.

None of the students know why Prof. Guligs is so obsessed with going on the field trip. It was the only thing that he would talk about, even when Rebecca was alive, he would still talk about it. This was a never ending cycle which has to be broken.

The bell went off for lunch as all of the students began to get up from their seats, but before Edward could leave the room, he felt Prof. Guligs grab onto his arm. Edward turns his head over to Prof. Guligs who pulled him back inside of the classroom while closing the classroom door.

Prof. Guligs forced Edward into the desk chair behind him. He places his hands onto the arm rests as his eyes stares deeply into Edward's soul, "You saw it, didn't you?"

Edward looks around before looking into Prof. Guligs' eyes, "Saw what?"

"DON'T LIE TO ME BOY!" Prof. Guligs almost yells at the top of his lungs. The room almost shook, but it didn't.

Edward realizes what Prof. Guligs means, the skull. He looks deeper into Prof. Guligs' eyes, "Do you mean the skull?"

Prof. Guligs backs away from Edward. Letting the student get situated in the chair before him, "Finally... you figured it out and yes, that is what I mean." He walks over to the door. His breath is hard with a quick pacing.

"What about the skull?" Edward almost wants to take back the question.

Prof. Guligs looks back at Edward with only half of his head turning. Not saying a word until he broke the empty silence after a short few seconds, "Go eat." He walks out of the room and leaves the door open.

Edward looks around the desk and sees a newspaper underneath the desk. He bends down and grabs onto it to read:

70 people dead at Old St. Carry's Church

Edward folds up the newspaper and hides in his pants before getting up from the desk chair. Never has he felt his legs quiver in that much fear until now, his legs forced him to run out of the classroom and into the cafeteria where his friends are at.
