Sara's POV
Dylan looked like someone choked his neck... "Oh shit..." he whispered. I turned around to see a really beautiful girl with a not so beautiful exprssion advancing towards us.
Why was Dylan even taking notice of her? Did they know each other? Maybe its his girlfriend? Maybe that's the reason why he panicked...
I shook my head to stop myself from overthinking. Its a bad habit i had. He suddenly stood up.
"Ho... You're approaching me..." he said in a weird tone. He looked really funny trying to imiate someone tough with an appearance so petite...
"Then what the hell does this look like to you?!" she yelled. Dylan looked really dissapointed for a moment.
"What a normie, she doesn't get the reference." he murmmered. Then he looked at me. "Sorry Sara, It was really awesome! Honestly i wouldve finished it all in any other situation. But i gotta hustle now!"
He ran off...
"WAIT UP SHRIMP!!!" The girl yelled before giving up. What an annoyance... it was going so well...
Then she looked at me. "What's so good about him?" she asked. I had no clue what she was talking about.
"What are you talking about?"
"I mean you were enjoying spoonfeeding him so much, after all"
SHE WAS WATCHING!
"That... was ..." I couldn't find the right words!
"Awwww look at you going all red from something like that!" She teased me. "My name is Christine. I'm from Grade 12!"
"I'm Sara. Nice to meet you."
"So. Do you like him?" She got up in my face.
"Im just trying to make him my friend. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less." i replied. That was too close.
And its not i like him that way! I just think he's good to me. And I dont feel as uncomfortable around me... so he would be a really good friend... and...
Christine was looking at me, dumbstruck.
Wait.
I wasn't thinking... I WAS SAYING IT OUT LOUD!
she started giggling a little "a really good friend..." she teased me again. I lifted up my lunch box to hide her out of view.
"Don't look at me like that..." i murmmered.
"Well I'll tell you this. Don't be so moved when a guy is a bit nice to you. I dont know about Dylan. But there are plenty of boys who hide a shitty personality behind smiles even better than his." What was she trying to tell me? That Dylan wasn't such a good person?
"That's not true. Dylan doesn't think that way. The way he looks at me when we're talking. Its not lustful. Its just different." I told her back.
"Yup. You like him alright. Because only someone as delusional as him can like him." Why was she being so mean?!
"What has Dylan done to you for you to talk that way! And i dont like him that way!" I said back.
"Listen Sara" she put her haand on my shoulder. "I'm not saying that Dylan's a bad guy or anything like that. I dont know much about him either. Because he's only shown me his good sides. Maybe you know him better. Maybe not. But please dont go trusting guys like that. Or they take advantage of you." she walked off with those last words.
What did she mean by that? Why qas she acting as if she knew Dylan so well?
I couldn't explain this feeling. Whenever i thought of her talking about Dylan... i just felt annoyed...
Its not like i hate her or anything. Nothing of that sort. Its just.
I really have no idea... I looked up at the sky, which was darker and cloudier than before. It was cloudy. Just like this. When i was almost robbed of something precious. Chills ran down my spine. I didnt want to even think of then. The shadow of that man scares me to this very day.
I got up and thought of the second plan i had in mind to become friends with Dylan. Get closer... just like the drama i watched. And today looked perfect for it.
ITS NOT LIKE I WANT TO BE UNDER THE SAME UMBRELLA...

The last period was about to be over. I called a toilet break and ran over to Dylan's locker. I took the umbrella from it and hid it under the lockers. I wouldnt want him to think i was lying...
And this wasnt stealing... not in slightest. Because i hid it under his locker. I didnt take it or antything, right!
The bell rang just in time, as i returned to class and and made all the preparations.
"Ok what the fuck? Where did it go?" I could hear him whispering.
Wait. It didnt start raining yet.
I DIDNT THINK ABOUT THAT!
He kept searching for like 5 more minutes.
Still no rain...
Oh no... he was gonna have to go walk home alone! What if it rained in between? He would get wet and if he becomes sick again, i would be responsible! I had to do something!
But there was no way i could make him find the umbrella without making it appear suspicous! Oh no...
There was only one way. I swallowed the lump in my throat and walked over to him.
"H..hey... Dylan..." i managed to say. He took notice of me. I needed to say the rest of it. But the words didnt come out!
He looked at me cluelessly. Now i was gonna look like an idiot. Why was it so hard to say it?
"So umm... I'm in a real pinch now... Its gonna rain most probably... if i get sick again its gonna be really bad, dont you think? So... this might sound stupid, but do you happen to have an extra umbrella?"
This was my chance!
"I don't have another one... but we can share one... if you're fine with it..."
He looked suprised. "But if the others see, its gonna look... how do i say.... weird."
It was embarassing even for me. But there was no backing down now.
"I know how you feel, but if you fall sick again, I'll feel guilty of not giving you any help..."
I said it.
There was a moment of silence between us.
"You really are a nice girl, Sara... It's amazing to have someone like you as a friend."
He said exactly what i wanted to hear. And it felt good. My mind played that sentence over and over. He considered me a proper friend.
Christine was wrong. About my feelings and Dylan. There was no way I would be happy with just friends if I wanted something more.
I hope so...
Because, right now, i was feeling the most accepted i ever have...
Dylan wasn't like him. He was good to me.
"So, shall we go?" He asked, opening up the umbrella. I nodded in agreement.
I wish home was further away.

Sappy as all hell. Is what I feel when i read this. Idk I just keep criticizing myself. Anyways, it looks like Sara finally succeded in her mission to become friends with Dylan. Does this mean progress? And she might be mistaken about her limits as a friend. Who knows? After all, she wont tell me everything just yet!
Don't forget to vote and hope you enjoyed!
Lots of love
