It was almost morning, when Mike reached the spot. Earlier he tried to call his friends to inform them that he would be reaching there soon but none of them picked up, so he thought maybe they were sleeping.
When he reached and knocked at the door, he found the door was already open. With a light push he sneaked in as he wanted to surprise and tease everyone for their clumsiness to have kept the door open for a whole night.
But what he saw left his body frozen and he stood there dumb-founded, unable to grasp the sight. In front of him were lying the three dead bodies of his friends.
He rubbed his eyes, to think this must be an illusion of his because of his tiredness, but when he touched their bodies he found them cold and still, he put his trembling fingers on their nose and found none of them breathing.
He yelled and called his friend's names while shaking them vigorously, but in vain. He sat there with red eyes looking at their frozen bodies. After a minute, got up and called the police.
When the police reached they asked him what he saw, and he told them everything. Then he called their parents to give them the bad news.
When all parents of the dead students came, the police didn't allow them to enter the scene and blocked them. They couldn't enter the DO NOT CROSS tape.
They were arguing with the police officers to let them in as they wanted to see their children's bodies, when one by one, the bodies were being brought out on a strecher. The parents ran to the ambulance.
Some were screaming, some were pitifully calling their child's name while holding their cold hands and some were fainting, the sight was a heart breaking scene to see, even for the police.
Police took Mike's statement but it was a somewhat confused one as he himself did not see anyone living around the place or any sign of the killer.
The police also examined that there were no sign of struggles or any injuries on their bodies it was as if they were all killed in the blink of an eye.
Police carried on their investigation but could not arrive at any conclusion, they failed to get any clues. As it created a huge outrage among the public and blamed them for their yet another failure to find the killer and criticised their inefficiency in solving the crime.
Taking cognizance of public's reaction the authorities banned any type of excursion to the place with immediate effect.They also posted police guards and did not allow any one to go to that spot.
