Crystal was looking for something to eat for dinner, she was unaware of the coming danger. The only thing she could think about was how much she missed her mother. That disappeared days before but she did remember when. Her mother told her many stories about the dragon's, and that she too would one day become a dragon rider like her father.
Her favourite dragons were the crystal dragons that were also known as the royals dragons among all dragons kind. They were known for there use of all the elements and their immunity to poison but was also considered one the most beautiful among all dragons. They are ice blue with big wings, strong bodies and long powerful tails.
The dragons were known for there scales that looked like it was decorated in gemstones. It was said if the sky dances in colours you can find them dancing in the sky. They are very rare and very dangerous and so some kingdoms banned riders from approaching the crystal dragons.
The royal crystal dragons also believed that taking a rider is a sign of weakness, so they have never had a dragon rider bonded to there kind. Crystal wondered If her dragon has hatched yet? What she was up to or even if she realizes she has a rider? While she was looking for food, the king's men came into the forest. "are you sure there are more dragon riders hiding in the forest?" one asked. Crystal decided to hide in a tree and studied the men from above when she noticed she wasn't alone in the forest anymore.
One was wearing golden armour and the other silver armour they were riding a white horse and a black horse. "yes sir, I asked in the village and they said that the princess came here often so it was thought that she had a dragon hiding inside," the guard in silver replied.
"This forest was a sacred place for the queen, she used to visit the Evergreen forest elder as regularly as she could and even introduced him the to the princess when she was born," the guard in gold said. "what happened?" the guard in silver asked. "The queen died in the forest and the king blamed the dragons for her death." the guard in gold said.
Crystal watched the men moving deeper and deeper into the forest and climbed down slowly but that was where she made a mistake. The men looked around and saw her standing next to the tree. Crystal ran deep into the forest choosing routes that made it difficult for the horses to follow. Crystal was really fast and she knew the forest really well. She ran straight for her hiding spot a cave behind the waterfall.
The men were puzzled and looked around for some time but retreated back into the forest. The cave was dark and wet but if you didn't know that there was a cave behind the waterfall you would not know there is a cave, so well it was hidden, but that night the guards discovered the cave and found Crystal hiding. "Who is she?" the guard asked. "don't know but we can't leave her here and look she's a chosen rider, the mark on her hand that means she's been banished from the kingdom.
" the silver guard said. "let's take her to the border and leave her with the closes village across." the golden knight said. The men took Crystal to the village and left her there with the village elder. The village elder didn't like orphans and to him, the worst was orphan dragon riders so he ordered the girl to be chained up and to be treated as a prisoner.
Crystal studied her surroundings, iron bars, wooden floors and walls. She would receive her meals three times a day but was never allowed to play with the other kids. Crystal asked for her mother and the elder but all she was told is that they were dead. Crystal didn't trust anyone her mother warned her of strangers and so she never made an attempt to talk. The villagers called her the mute dragon rider.
Then one day seven years later they took her to a cabin in the woods it was old and falling into pieces. "we can't want the dragon riders to discover you," the elder said. " why?" Crystal asked "You're a dragon rider," the village elder answered. Crystal didn't like the man he had a nasty attitude and short white hair, he wore an ugly white shirt and brown pants and he was always accompanied by two men dressed in dark brown leather that was known as his guards, not that he needs them the village is never under attack.
Crystal thought. The cabin was old and dusty, there was no bed in the cabin and the guards chained Crystal up again. "Behave I would hate for those riders to find you." the elder gave an evil laugh. "you can scream but out here they will not hear you," one of the guards said. "o and one thing you will receive food once a day makes it last you will not get more than that," the village elder replied. That night it began to snow and Crystal had one blanket to keep herself warm. The village elder has followed buy dragon rider who suspicious of the elder's behaviour, Crystal found herself being shaken awake very late that night. "come we need to go," a man said.
Crystal did as she was told and found herself staring at a dragon in the dark you could only see his eyes but you could see it was a dragon. The dragon flew both Crystal and his rider to safety and in the morning they landed in a camp filled with riders and dragons. Crystal hoped that the Evergreen elder was here but when she noticed how small the camp was she knew he wasn't here.
"Hello my name is Devon and this is my dragon Fang" Crystal looked at the man and said, "My names Crystal," Devon looked around and asked, "where's your dragon my dads looking for your dragon but he hasn't found any dragons." Crystal gave a small smile and said, "she's waiting for me at the mountain range called Aurora Mountain. The Elders separated us for we were forced to bond at a to young age, things happened and I got separated from the elder." Crystal asked. "What elder are you talking about?" the young man asked.
"The Evergreen dragon elder he and the forest keeper looked after me when mom couldn't." Crystal answered. "I see, how old are you?" the man asked. Crystal looked around the trees didn't have any leaves on and the ground was bare it looked like fire came threw here had there was no clear water close by. The young man in front of her was wearing a dark brown leather jacket and pants with matching boots.
His dragon was a red dragon with large wings strong build body and a tail with spikes on and he was as big as a one-story house. " I am Seventeen" Crystal answered. "So you haven't met your dragon yet only bonded at a young age," he asked. "yes," Crystal answered. Devon called back all of the riders and told his father what Crystal had said. "who is your parents?" the man asked.
Crystal wasn't sure but she knew who would know. "That is something you'll have to ask the Evergreen elder my mother was a close friend of him and I think she told him who my father was but for safety reasons at that time they could not tell me." Crystal answered. "it couldn't be could it," One man asked. "I don't know John," the man said.
"Dad, what's wrong?" Devon asked his father. "nothing, did the dragon elder say where your dragon might be Crystal" Crystal smiled and said. "The Aurora mountains" The group of men was shocked and said, "your dragon is a Crystal dragon but they have never taken riders before," John said. "The nursemaid forced us to bond without anyone knowing, that's all I know" Crystal answered. "fine we leave for the Aurora mountains in the morning and then we head to base camp." Devon's father ordered. "yes sir," John said.
