Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

"I'm so nervous the day is finally here." Rowena has been saying that for the past few hours and believe me it's no joke having someone in your head repeat one sentence more than a hundred times.

"I know that." I snapped "stop talking."

"Oh." she was quiet for a while but then continued her chant. 'Someone would think she's trying to complete a ritual.'

"So...what should I do to attract her attention?" I asked as a form of distraction. It's already the day of the princess's arrival and Rowena is quite nervous to see her although I am too but she's being annoying.

"Nothing. The truth is that she approached me, asked for help and I followed her."

My mouth twitched. "Please tell me you knew she wasn't a bad person."

She shook her head. "No, I was at the lowest point in my life I didn't really care about who she was. Good or bad with my mentality back then I would have gone with anyone, I was tired of eating trash."

"Oh right. Don't they give allowance to the students in the academy. Why were penniless when you came here."

"I wasn't penniless." she blushed in shame "I was scammed."

For a while, I was speechless and then chuckled "Seriously how many years did you live in the academy that you forgot how the streets were."

"I had an urgent need for money so I invested the one I had and got scammed."

"Why didn't you check them out before you invested?"

"Too much work." She shrugged.

It's a good thing she doesn't have a physical body she's the cause of my misfortune. How could she invest everything in an unknown venture.

"Anyways back to the main topic. The princess must have investigated you before she came." I suppressed the murderous intent I had.

"Due to her being quite meticulous I can believe that but why? I'm not that important, am I?"

"It's good you know how unimportant you are. You were accepted into one of the best academy in the kingdom you should have a little potential." I analysed.

Hurt by the statement, Rowena cried out. "I'm very important."

Ignoring her I continued pondering. "There's something I'm curious about."

She looked up at me. "What?"

"Why would she come all the way from Angeli to get you? You're not worth it." I emphasize.

Her smile froze. 'Hits my nerves everytime.' She thought. "Thanks for reminding me...again. I wasn't the only one she approached but I was the only one who followed her back."

"Tell more about the princess." I queried. I need to start planning how to convince her that our plan is not completely stupid.

"I already did." She replied distracted.

"I mean her personality"

Her eyes lit up. "She's indifferent, cool..." she paused deeply immersed in whatever she's thinking. I shouldn't have asked a brain dead fan for information about their idol. With this peesonality can she really act out this farce.

After a while she shook her head and continued. "She had 13 aides in my past life including me. Twelve of them were her childhood friends and she tells them almost everything but they also betrayed her and are the main causes of her downfall due to the fact that they leaked some of her secrets."

"I don't understand how all of you could betray her so easily." I interjected.

Suddenly we heard footsteps and an hooded figure stopped in front of me.

"Good day." The figure said and she has quite a nice voice, cold and calm like the lake outside the city.

"Good day to you too." I responded.

"Miss Williams?" She questioned.

"Yes...who are you?" She stepped back and took of her hood. It's strange that I can't see her features properly.

"I'm Tiana." She said. 'Oh I know who you are' how could I not Rowena has been repeating "she's here" since she came. I really need to find away to block her mouth.

"I need your help." She got straight to the point. "Of course I'll give you something in return."

"Revenge?" I asked.

"You want revenge?" She glanced at me or I think she did and I shivered. Her gaze is quite cold, is she going to kill me if I say yes?

"No." I responded firmly.

"Good." The gaze disappeared. She appears to be in a good mood.

"So why don't you..." I almost completed my sentence of asking her to take a sit when Rowena shrieked. "Don't you dare, my master likes cleanliness."

"And I'm the one that doesn't like being clean." I groaned holding my head.

"Are you alright?" Tiana asked.

"I thought they said your communication skills are nonexistent." I said without thinking and I froze.

"Why would you ask her that?" Rowena shrieked again. Seriously she's giving me a headache.

"Shut up." I roared.

Tiana paused. "I'm learning." Tilting her head she said. "You seem to know who I am."

"I do." I replied scared.

She stared at me contemplatively for some time then waved her hand. "It's alright."

Standing up I told her. "Let's go to the lake outside the city it's cleaner over there."

"Alright" She agreed.
