"Seriously? Where did you lose your ID?" She continuously asks while we're walking in the corridor
She's too loud that's why most of the students in the corridor are keep on glancing at us with those curious looks on their faces. I wanted her to lower down her voice or much better to make her stop.
"I don't know" I force myself to answer
Were walking slowly while I'm hugging myself. I'm cold because of the rainy weather. It's not Ber months yet but the wind monsoon is already giving me this kind of chill. Just like now, the rain won't stop since this morning.
"Why so careless Cam? You know the policy right? The office won't issue another ID if there's no affidavit of loss. You need to present an affidavit of loss "
I glance at her and nod my head. She's right, I need to present an affidavit of loss before they allow me to request a new identification card. Hassle, but I don't have a choice Rules is a rule
"I'll work on that later" I answer as we both enter the school cafeteria
As usual, the place is crowded. I honestly don't want to eat here because of the noise of chattering and screaming voices of those students. Can't they eat in silence? It's honestly ear-splitting. But then, I can't do anything because Ella is with me.
"I'll go with you later. Sabby said she gets her affidavit in the mall-"
"You're so talkative El, and I can go alone," I said rolling my eyes not letting her finish her nonsense speech
I walk towards the table near the glass wall and I immediately settle down putting my things on the table. My forehead creased when I notice my fingers again full of dry droplets of paint. I forgot to wash my hand again. Oh well, I'm a fine art student in the field of painting and drawing so I really can't prevent this thing.
"You want alcohol?" Ella offered when she also saw my hands
I raised my eyebrow and didn't say anything but she smiles and cheerfully get the alcohol inside her bag and handed it to me.
Did I say yes?
I just accept it and didn't complain.
"Thanks" I mumble feeling lethargic all of a sudden
"I'll order for you " she volunteers
I gave her a nod and hand her my wallet but she refuses. I didn't insist anymore because I'm aware of what will happen if I reject her offer. She happily walks towards the counter making me shake my head. She's so easy to please. And she's so transparent with her emotions that's why it's irritating sometimes.
I sighed and just busy myself looking outside the cafeteria. The sky is dark and foggy because of the rainy weather and up until I still don't know how to get used to it. Rainy days...
"Cam, are you okay?" I heard Ella ask beside
I didn't pay attention that much so I didn't know that she's there already.
I just look at her as she put the tray on our table and then I realize what she orders for me making me blink my eyes.
"I order chicken masala for you, I observe that you like chicken that's why" she explains
I stared at her for a second. I'm not expecting that she's observant. I thought she's just a happy-go-lucky girl who doesn't care about those things that are not noticeable. Well, she's right. I like chicken, but am I that obvious?
"What do you want? Orange or Pineapple? " she asks again
"Anything will do"
She gave me the pineapple juice and I nod my head a little as my way of saying thank you. I just don't like talking to her because surely she won't stop blabbering once I engage myself in a simple conversation with her.
We silently eat our lunch and I'm feeling relief about it. I wanted to ask her about Sabrina because I didn't saw her this past few days but I controlled myself not to. I'm just kinda curious because I always saw them together, but on the second thought, it's not my business anymore so I shouldn't interfere and involve myself with them.
"Are you sure that you don't need someone to accompany you?" Ella inquire and by the look on her face she's so hopeful that I would change my mind
"Yes, I can go alone"
"But I need to buy something on the National Book Store, maybe I could just tag along with you. You know?" she reasons out
I snorted in front of her letting her know my reaction. I'm aware that she's just making excuses. As I said she's so transparent and I can easily read her, she's not good at lying. And it's needless to explain more.
"You're free to go on your own, you don't have to go with me"
"Please... It's raining and I will ask my driver to dri-"
"Stop insisting, you know you can't force me to agree with you"
She pouted her lips and stomp her feet on the floor. She's acting like a spoiled bratinella, reason why Sabrina and Ella click together because they almost have the same attitude. As what it said, same feather flock together.
"Where's your friend?" I speak up to change the topic
"She's with Andrius" she whispers in response
I was taken aback when she leans on the table and moves her face closer to me as if wanting to say something controversial.
"I have this strong feeling that Andrius is just playing Sabby around " she whispers again
"What's your basis for you to say that?" I snapped giving her an interrogating stare
But we were distracted when we heard a loud laughed coming from those group of students, the reason for it is because of the girl in the center jumping like crazy. My brows furrow before I look at Ella again.
"Don't you dare do that act when I'm with you" I warn her and she just giggles
That so embarrassing okay!
"You're always grumpy. Now I know why Andri flirt Sabby instead of you, it so obvious that he can't woe you like those other girls around him"
I crossed my arm and rested my back on the backrest of the chair. Here she goes again, she's so sure with her hypothesis that Andrius had a thing on me. It doesn't sound pleasing in my ears, and it's creepy.
"If Andrius is just toying Sabrina, why don't you tell her?" I ask
She make face and I wanted to laugh because of it. She looks disgusted.
"Sabby likes Andri that's why. I don't want her to think that I'm meddling with her" she explains sound a little bit disappointed
"Toxic" I commented
"What toxic?"
"Your friendship with her" I honestly reply before I stand up and leave
Some of the students who recognize me greeted me with a smile so I also smile but just a little showing my respect. I walk at a normal pace so I'm not wondering how Ella runs after me so easily.
"Can't I go with you?"
"Ella Jimenez, can you stop talking?" I said losing my patience already because of my talkative mouth
She walks with me towards the art room. It's needless to say that she'll stay there until the next hour because this is not the first time. My blockmates called her my 'tail' because she always follows me around especially if she's not busy and up until now I still can't get used to it. She's too positive and optimistic, her positive vibes are giving me this uncomfortable feeling the reason why I don't want her to be close to me.
I pushed the wooden door of the art room and I'm not surprised anymore when I saw George Velazquez sitting on the high stool wooden chair. She immediately turns around when she heard the creaking sound of the door as I push it and just like Ella she gave me a genuine smile so I smile back at her.
"Hi, Cam! You are with your tail again ha" she joked while laughing
She's a girl by the way and I wonder why her mother name her George when in fact the name George doesn't compliment her beautiful and innocent face. She's too feminine to be named George.
"That so harsh Georgie! You have never been kind to me since then" Ella complains acting like a kid as she stands in my back
I guess I don't need to explain why they both know each other. She's always here that's why.
"Well, I was just stating what I observe. You've been following Cami everywhere she goes"
She said laughing
I agree
I didn't mind the two and I just wear my apron to start. I need to go home early for my affidavit of loss.
The two continue talking and Ella is not bothering me, thank goodness. I just hope George is always here at this hour because Ella is too engross talking to George. They both click together because they understand those things that I don't know.
After a couple of minutes, Ella left after she bid her goodbye to me. She needs to attend her last subject the reason why the art room is filled with silence again. Finally. George silently continues what she's doing same as mine. It took hours and I didn't notice that it's already 4:00 p.m. not until George told me that she needs to leave already
I was left alone again so I just continue my canvas until 5:00 p.m. I forgot my plan of going home early. It always happens though, especially when I'm holding my brush paint.
I shake my head and massage my nape a little. I stretch my arms feeling how my muscles contrast on my every move before I stand up straight and look at my work. My lips curved into a smile as I saw how mesmerizing my artwork is.
"Phantashia Verus..." I whisper upon realizing that it's almost finished
