Chapter 1 - Prologue

Eternal World was into a state of turmoil after the shocking battle between two powerful forces! One was the Supreme Ruler of Eternal World, while the other one was the rising star of Eternal World, Wu Shai.

The battle between the two could be said was the peak of the Era!

It involves countless great powers, ancient families, and Imperial Lineage! Many lost their power and was annihilated, while bystanders were affected by the millions of kilometers pursuit and battle!

However, in the end, Wu Shai, the Rising Star, was sealed in the Forbidden Land of Eternal Darkness by the Supreme Ruler.

Many mourn for his death! Wu Shai that lives for three millenniums had the power to fight an entity as strong as the Ruler of Eternal World — The Supreme Ruler! He was a genius adored by many, the one that could kill the treacherous ruler of Eternal World!

But in the end, although he was very young, his power was still insufficient to deal with the Supreme Ruler and was sealed in the Forbidden Eternal Darkness!

The Supreme Ruler's prestige and power were hundred times powerful than the people of Eternal World; they simply can't battle with him!

Thus, even the Rising Star, Wu Shai, — who almost have the battle power of Supremacy — was sealed in the end!

Forbidden Eternal Darkness means Death! No one could escape from that place and even the previous Supreme Ruler had died in that place! Thus, the people who mourn for Wu Shai's death could only sigh to clouds and mists of helplessness.

...

Ten millennia passed like that. The Eternal World undergoes major changes. The Fall and the Rise of clans, the heroes of generations, and the changing course of time.

Eternal World, Forbidden Land of Eternal Darkness.

The world with no light nor the existence of daos, a young man sat atop the cliff of a fake mountain.

The fake mountain stood straight and floated in the pitch of darkness. There was no light, but it was as if the young man on the top of the cliff could see beyond the darkness.

His gaze landed across the land — where a profound sealing formation was laid down — and a sigh escapes from his mouth.

He taps the ancient ring on his ring finger, and instantly, a bottle of whisky wine appeared. He grabbed another glass of cup from his ancient ring and started to pour wine.

He looked at the horizon, leaned in the tree behind, he raised his cup slightly to the air and gulped it down.

"Time passed, humans mature. The longer they live, the more terrifying was their craftiness. Terrifying Growth was humans forte— unless you would be able to utilize it perfectly, it will be your terrifying hidden card. Oh, Supremacy, you sealed me here for eternity, your power, and strength to be wary, but sadly, it's the fate that decides my destiny." He chuckled while drinking and looking beyond the darkness.

This man was Wu Shai, the former Rising Star of Eternal World.

After the Supremacy sealed him to this place for eternity, he struggled from his fate and tried to flee from this place, but after ten millennia, he finally acknowledged how terrifying this place was — he simply couldn't escape from this place.

The place was covered with darkness like this place was the nothingness. Every particle or the 3000 daos of Heaven and Earth didn't exist in this place. If Wu Shai didn't have the Eternal Supreme Constitute, he simply couldn't survive from this place for ten millennia!

He looked below and his gaze penetrates the darkness. Even though it was dark, Wu Shai could feel the Law of Nothingness, even utilizing it wasn't difficult.

Below, he could see countless corpses scattered about. The land amounted to millions of millions and it could form a huge mountain of corpses. He could see precious artifacts tainted with blood that had darkened considerably.

He couldn't help but sigh quietly: "Honestly, I envied you all. Living is the most precious armament to a person. Wealth and Prestige are merely secondary. But when one experiences a life of helplessness, there are times we felt death is better than living — when do I can see the light? I bet you ask this before your death, am I right?"

He gulped another glass of wine and continued: "But as cultivators, we are once mortals. Helplessness is one of our obstacles in life. The mortal life isn't easy, we struggle for millions of millions of years to reach the power we held. Simply letting yourself be devoured into helplessness means your dao heart crumbled down. Unfortunately for me, I still can't resign from fate. I have many things needed to accomplish. The world is always into a constant struggle to supremacy, for only the reason of their goal!"

"I-i am the same." He closed his eyes and a graceful figure appeared in his mind. "Ever since you have died because of me, my heart turned cold and I felt my world halted. They say: 'once you lost a person, only when you realize how precious they are' — I blame myself, I hate myself, so I have to become strong to see you...I have to..." His voice grew weaker at the end and his eyes turned slightly red; tears that seemingly he tried to hide gushes out from his eyes.

But what could he do other than to mourn from his helplessness? He was trapped in the darkness with no one else but darkness. How could he ask for more?

"Clap* Clap* Clap*" Suddenly, a sound that he long has been forgotten echoed from his behind. Wu Shai was shocked and hurriedly stared in that direction.

He looked at the figure that appeared from his sight — an old-man shrouded in fog and wearing a simple white tattered cloth. His nose was slightly crooked and his hair was messy. His eyes stared at Wu Shai and his mouth opened as voice followed: "Very well. It seems like destiny is fated to meet. Whenever or how far they reached they eventually return from their nests."

Wu Shai looked at him, confused.

He thought for a moment and said: "But fate is predestined. Even if they returned from their nests, they eventually realize their helplessness."

"Oh? What kind of helplessness?"

"...Like losing your loved ones," Wu Shai continued.

"..." The old man was silent for a moment. He looked at a certain direction and sighed: "You are right. No matter how strong we become and how eternity we could live, we are bound to be helpless in front of fate. Did you resigned from your fate?"

"No." replied Wu Shai without hesitation: "Fate is something we cannot change. But to alter fate one shall be prepared for loneliness and suffering, transversing difficulties, and thread into the path of no retreat. When I walked in this path, my heart is firm, so why I should resign to fate?"

"You are right Dao friend." He looked at him. He hesitates for a moment and said: "What if you will be given another chance?"

Wu Shai looked at him, then said: "Then I should gladly take it. I guess this is fate. But to overcome fate, one should accept fate then overturned it towards the end. If fate bestows me a chance, that time, I will stand at the peak. A peak with structures supporting you from behind."

The place grew quiet. The old man again looked at that direction and a glint appeared into his eyes and said: "Very well, young man. Life is unpredictable, nature changes as times passed. I shall bestow you a chance to fulfill your regrets, but I do hope you can change the fate..."

Wu Shai was stunned. He could only see a blinding light engulfed him as he lost consciousness afterward.

But before he lost consciousness, the land of darkness, he could hear the old man stood there as he muttered: "Nor your fate nor mine... But the fate."
