Emmelyn decided to ask Mars about this when they returned to his castle later. She was really curious to know why Mars's parents chose their son to have a reputation as a cruel monster rather than the people knowing his true condition.

"I am not feeling sorry for you. What for?" said Emmelyn, rolling her eyes. "I'm the one who should be pitied here, not you. I've become an orphan because your rotten kingdom decided to invade the other kingdoms on the continent of Terra."
Mars' smile disappeared. If Emmelyn had spoken like that, he could never win. She was right.
All of the girl's words were true. Mars must not feel sorry for himself in front of Emmelyn. The girl's life was more miserable than his, and it was all thanks to his family's doing. He already felt guilty enough without her bringing that up.
