Chapter 1 - Prologue : Sudden Lust

When he suddenly pulled her close to his chest, she didn't expect anything as it was almost natural for him to push and pull her at his demand or will. After all she belonged to him. Though in whatsense she wasn't sure.

But she never expected such a forceful kiss on her which felt as if he would devour her entirely if possible. He wanted her. Despite her being a virgin, she had few here and there teenage fling to know a man's touch and need. Not to forget almost all her friends were guys to begin with. She was no naive child, but she was nor reckless. Maybe if she was, life would've been much different.

At first she was still as a stone either from shock or from the eminence force of his body on her. In maybe a few minute or half she was pushed onto the kitchen island ignoring her silent denials from the pain on her back as it hit the hard stone. The pain is what bought back her senses and she tried to free herself from such strong arms in vain. It's not like she never kissed before but he never tried to ever get intimate with her in all of their 13 months of living together. Not to forget he was not a light kisser either. The rapid pulse she could feel under his chest and the heavy breadth forced her to follow along with him.

Truly how long can you avoid answering to such a passionate kiss anyway. She felt more impulse than passion in his touch. But when he got impatient from just a kiss, he went down to his business and slipped his hand under her shirt.

Luckily it was winter and he just got home, as a result his hands were ice cold on her warm burning skin. It bought back all her senses in place when cold shivers went down her body and she finally jerked herself free from his grasp. It took him a while to realize what he was doing. She couldn't pinpoint if his expression was that of shock or disgust, maybe both.

Without another word, he glared at her as if she was to blame for this seduction and barged out of the house. She was still shaken up from such impulsive act. Her heart was ramping on her chest as if it would break out of her body. Just when she was about to get herself a glass of water, the front door suddenly flung open.

Coming inside he boldy walked in,  grabbed the car keys from the kitchen table without giving a single glance at her and left without a word. She already knew he won't be coming home tonight. He never does when he leaves at such hour.

It was 9:30 pm on the clock and Liyana Caldine was annoyed, furious, sad, upset and most of all tired from such a hard and draining day. As much as she needed to think what just happened, she also needed sleep. They say denial is sometime a better remedy.

She has work tomorrow and projects to complete. Her whole body was aching and she needed rest. As much as reckless her life was, she was not to collapse for a guy who messed up her life. Looking at the table filled with dinner, her body advised her not to look at it; she knew it won't even sit in her stomach today. So as soon as she was done with her water, she went up and got into shower.

When the cold water hit her, she felt her mind calm down and come back to reality. She didn't even flinch from how cold she felt. She had nothing to flinch over at this point. She knew her life had lost its meaning for some time now. Now, she was just surviving, flowimg with time, barely living. Just living.

Walking out, she didn't even bother covering her, who'd watch she thought. Dressed, she slowly went to bed. But her mind was wide awake despite how tired she felt.

She wondered when did exaxtly her life stopped meaning something to her. When was it that she stopped feeling alive. What was dreams amd where are they now. Out of all of this, she reached one conclusion that she has started to believe.

Life is never fair, especially to those who don't fight for it when need be.

As she drifted off to sleep, a small part of her still wondered where he is, if he was okay. She let out a small bitter chuckle at herself. How unfair it is that even her heart wants to know how her torturer is.
