"Alvin, I don't understand. What's wrong with this guy?" You asked him, noting that his eyebrows were beginning to twitch.
The brown-haired Irishman wanted to tell you his secrets so badly. He wanted to be able to cure all of your curiosities and calm your mind. That's why he took you out to lunch after class today.
But now, he was on a different playing field.
Dark had taken over now, he knew that. It wouldn't have killed Mark if you were to know about the otherworldly being's existence. But now, Alvin was fearing for his own safety. What did this mean for him? What was going on in the other dimensions that they lived in?
Alvin was quickly brought back to light as you began to wave your hand in front of his face.
You had explained everything that you had been through to him, and he was just going to give you a blank stare? You weren't dumb. Something was up, and you needed to know what it was.
"Alvin, my house was broken into. They paralyzed my legs, and I wasn't able to move them. Every time something bad happens, I always hear this agitating ringing noise. And every time this happens, I'm around Mark. What does it mean?!" You asked, leaning froward against the table to try to get your point across to him.
Alvin opened his mouth to answer your questions, but quickly closed it. He was fearful, and it seemed the Dark had already chosen you. Alvin knew what would happen if someone stood in his way.
But what could he do? Alvin knew that you were going to get angry with him. It was inevitable. His hands were tied, and there was no way to relay the information that he wanted to say without breaking Dark's rules.
Your voice broke him out of his thoughts.
"Alright. Let's try another way. I'm going to ask you a question. it will be a 'Yes.' or 'No.' answer. You don't even have to say anything. Either give me a nod, or something else to signal your answer, okay?"
Alvin sat there, amazed at your idea. It was perfect. Dark couldn't blame him for anything, because he wouldn't have to say anything. Sure, there was still a risk, but you were more unsafe than he was. He had to make you his priority. Besides, Mark wouldn't want you to be stuck in this situation. Alvin knew that.
"Let's start out with something simple: Is your name Alvin?"
You were asking this so, if he needed to use some sort of action, he could make them up now, and you could see what answers they were for. You knew that Alvin was hiding something; he seemed to want to tell you. He didn't want to hide it, but something fearful kept him from spilling.
So, cheat the system.
In response, Alvin tapped on the table. You nodded.
*'So that's a 'yes'.'*
"Are you sixteen?" You asked, knowing that it was false.
Alvin replied by rubbing his arm.
*'And that's a 'no'.*
So, with that out of the way, you started with the real questions.
"Do you know Mark?"
He tapped on the table.
*'I wonder why he didn't tell me about him before. He acted like he didn't even know of his existence.'*
Regardless, you went onto the next question.
"Does Mark have something to do with the occurrences I've been dealing with?"
He paused for a moment before tapping the table again.
*'Why did he hesitate?'*
"Is there someone else involved in these events?"
Once again, Alvin hesitated before answering with another 'yes'.
"Are there three or more people involved?"
He answered with a rub of his arm immediately.
You cocked your head to the side in confusion, but asked a similar question.
"Are there two or more people involved?"
A quick 'no' was received once again.
Quickly getting confused, you thought about it, but it made you even more upset.
"Is there only one person involved?" You asked.
He tapped on the table.
You glared suspiciously at Alvin.
"Are you being honest with me?" You asked blandly.
He tapped his finger on the surface again.
You groaned and leaned back against your chair, causing the legs to screech against the floor.
You whipped your head back in attempts to rattle your brain for answers.
What was the reason that Alvin was now being so cooperative? During psychology, you avoided talking to him. The only reason being that he always made you more confused than you already were. Then again, so did Mark.
So what was different between the two?
The more that you questioned yourself, the worse your stressful thoughts became. Did Mark really have a part in this? He did, but Alvin also said that he was indirectly responsible, meaning that there has to be someone else involved.
But he said that it was only one person?
"Oh my Lord! You're so confusing! You shouted, covering your face with your hands.
You heard a familiar tapping of the table, causing you to throw your head back up to give him a glare. He smiled at you and shrugged.
"Ha. Ha. Very funny." You said sarcastically.
"Are those all of the questions you have for today?" He asked, his familiar confidence returning.
With a smirk, you tapped against the table.
