Alvin huffed as he took his ear away from the door, upset.
You must've known about Dark's existence, but from the sounds of it, Dark was... Cooking? That's not something that a parallel would do. Some of the things he saw from before added up, but did they really?
Maybe he was just making this all up in his own mind. Was he jealous of Mark?
No, why would he be jealous? He has no reason to be. But something was poking at him from the corners of his own mind. He shook his head in disbelief and began to walk towards the apartment complex's elevator.
'I'm my own worst enemy..' He said to himself, saddened.

The rest of that Sunday was relatively uneventful, only including Dark preparing more food for you, since you had begged for it. He was an amazing cook, you had to say. Of course, this only boosted the entity's ego, so he was more than willing to prepare a meal or two for you.
It was now Monday, and history class was beginning to start. Now, instead of avoiding eye contact with Dark, you openly talked to him. You asked him a couple more questions about the universes and such, but for the most part, he avoided talking to you about them. Luckily, you were doing some research on your own, away from Dark's prying eyes.
It wan't long until you found a reliable site supported by the FBI themselves. In the many articles were many topics, but one that interested you was titled, "Do all parallel's have traits of the others?". This site was run by a blogging system, so a guest on the site answered it, which opened up the playing field.
Yes and no. The secondary parallel's (one's that aren't 'human') have pieces of their human counterparts. And if multiple parallel's have taken over before, they all start to act a little like one another. Of course, the humans stay relatively the same, but by staying around a human, they develop some of those attributes. Sometimes, it can be dangerous to get close to a parallel, as one day, they lose their ability to go back home. This upsets the balance of the parallel universes, which would upset our world as well.
'Interesting.' You said to yourself as you scrolled through other questions. You were sitting next to Dark as the professor talked throughout class, looking at your phone. Upon noticing that you were on your device, Dark leaned in towards you. He still kept a close eye on the professor's movements as he spoke.
"Put your phone away, idiot." He spat. You rolled your eyes and put your phone back into your bag, knowing that Dark wouldn't be satisfied with you laying it on your lap.
"Whatever, mom." You mocked, holding your head in your hands as you watched the professor with intent.
Honestly, you hated lectures. You wished that they would just give you the book, tell you what to study, and let you take the test over it. But sadly, not all students were like that. Especially not Amy and her crew.
It was funny, because you would sometimes see the girls turn back towards you and Dark, but as soon as he saw their eyes look back at either of you, he sent them a glare that made them regret their choice.
It was nice. You know, having a supernaturally powerful being as an ally. Though, you wondered what he thought of you. Were you just an annoying human to him? No, because he wouldn't have spent all of this time with you. You were sure that he wouldn't hesitate to kill you if he didn't like you. So, you naturally wondered what your relationship was to him.
Unbeknownst to you, a 'new' kid sat in the very back seat at the edge of the last row. He gazed on you and Dark with immense hatred and ignorance. He couldn't understand it. Why would you choose a foreign entity over another human being? It frustrated him to no end, but he needed to be able to gain solid proof. At this point, he was beginning to develop self doubts about his theory himself anyhow.
Amy turned around in her seat, agitated by the teasing and joking that was apparently going on between you and Dark. You were beginning to giggle, and it was eating away at her nerves. She went to say something, but instead caught a glimpse of someone sitting behind the two of you, a hood covering his face.
He was doing the exact same thing that she was trying to do, glare at their exchange to make them stop. Knowing that the professor was no longer paying attention to his students - instead his own lecture - she got up from her chair and walked towards the boy in the back, curious.
He didn't seem to notice her as she walked up to him, his fists still clenching at the sight of you and Dark conversing without a care.
"What are you doing?" She asked, keeping a hushed tone.
His head shot over towards her. Obviously, her sudden presence surprised him. He quickly looked down again, allowing his conflicting emotions to take over his behavior again.
"Nothing of your concern." He spat, causing the girl to smile.
Of course, she knew exactly why he was acting the way that he was. There was some sort of anger or jealousy aimed at the two.
To make things more comfortable, she sat down in the chair in front of him, hoping to catch his gaze as she turned towards him.
"Who are you looking at?" She asked, smiling deviously. She knew who his eyes were on. Confirming her answer, he slowly looked over to the pair that she despised as well, "Ah, I see."
He whipped his head towards her again, his gaze piercing. She could now see the majority of his features. His hair was brown, but the top was now dyed a lime green, highlighting his blue eyes. But now, his eyes held nothing but resentment in them.
"What do you want." He demanded to know through gritted teeth. Amy giggled slightly as she hit a chord with him - a favorite hobby of hers.
"I just wanted to get to know you. And to understand why you were looking at the two, but now I see that's it's clear."
Alvin didn't understand her comment. What could she see that he couldn't? What emotion was hindering his ability to focus clearly? Why was he so obsessed with finding the truth? Did she know why he acted this way?
Before he could ask, the professor announced that class was over, prompting Amy to exit the classroom quickly.
She loved to play games.
"W-Wait!" Alvin yelled, trying to chase after her. He ran out of the room, the door being held open as more calmer students exited.
You and Dark stood there, facing where Alvin just was. You weren't sure how long, or why he was there, but you knew that this wasn't good. The two of you looked at each other, your face concerned while Dark's was angry.
"He knows, doesn't he?" You asked, receiving no answer as Dark walked out of the room without waiting for you to follow.
