Audrey's pov
"Unhand me woman, I'm fine taking the bus till you get a new bike, something faster hopefully"I said and pulled my arm away from this newly magnetic sister of mine.
"Are you sure?, I could call a cab and I'd go with you"she offered.
"Let's pretend you didn't say that, now if you don't mind, I have to go before I miss my bus"I said and pulled up my school bag.
I walked over to the door then turned the knob. I loosened my grip then turned back to my sister- who hadn't moved an inch from her position on the floor.
"Sooo, reconsidered?"she asked and stretched her hands out to me. I rushed straight to her and hugged her tightly, moved her hair from her ear and whispered "Never, but please don't get hurt".
She hugged me back and patted my hair, her way of assurance.
I kissed her cheek, which actually shocked both of us, then I ran out of the apartment to the bus stop.
A couple seconds later, the bus did arrive and the unnecessarily happy driver hit the brakes hard once he noticed me, causing everyone in to be pushed forward harshly.
"You came!"he beamed and instantly the door opened. I stepped in and greeted the man. "Stop with the formalities kiddo, how was your night? Hope you're ready for school? We could stop by a deli so you could pick up something nice if you want"he offered.
The other kids in the bus started murmuring and I just remembered I stupidly forgot to remind my sister to make something. "Uhmm, yeah, I'd like that, thank you sir"I said and took a seat by the window.
"Anything for you kiddo"he said and hit the gas, this time I was victim for his unnecessarily excited driving.
"Hey new Kid, what's going on with you and the bus driver, why is he giving you special treatment?"a senior I don't know said as he appeared in front of me.
I eyed him up and looked back out the window, "None of your business"I replied.
"That's not an answer kid"he said in a very low tone that I assume was supposed to be scary. I noticed the bus fell deadly silent.
"If you're done trying to sound intimidating, go back to your seat"I said not looking at him.
My attention was drawn to some strange man wiping his hand across the street.
.
.
.
"....hurt you....listen to me...hey!"
I groaned and turned around "Aren't you done yet?!, Well I'm done playing nice now get lost"I yelled and turned to face the window, I couldn't find the strange man anymore, well obviously since we're going a bit too fast. A hand came flying towards my head and I instinctively ducked. It hit the glass hard, but not enough to leave a crack. I turned to face him, this time, I was angry.
"You little idiot! Answer my damn question!"he yelled holding his trembling hand.
"None of your business, now sit down before I make you"I said annoyed, "Is that supposed to be a threat?"he asked looking very very pissed, good. "Wanna find out?"I asked and took off my blazer, it was starting to make me feel too hot inside.
Something caught my eyes again, a shiny black car with an oddly familiar driver...stranger?
Sadly I could see from the glass, a very familiar head and hand were coming at me again and I raised my elbow just as his hand was near my head, blocking him then swiftly turned to punch his left collar bone hard.
"Argh!"he cried then I jumped up on my seat , holding the head of the seat in front of me and mine, I hoisted myself up and kicked his face. He went backwards and hit the door, then fell into a very uncomfortable position on those small steps by it.
Two of his friends rushed to assist him. Once he was up, he and his friends stared at me with hate. I rolled my eyes, still swinging above my seat. "Dammit just answer the question already!"one of his friends asked growling like a dog.
"If you had brains to justify your class, you would have asked Mr. Peter by now... honestly you wouldn't care, so my answer stays the same, it's none of your business. And except you want my shoe print on your face, sit down like good doggie"I said...might be too much sass but swinging is fun, I don't really remember why I was mad honestly.
They groaned and quietly walked to their seat just as the door opened. "We're at the deli kiddo, anyone else want a bite you've all got 7minutes, we'll be at school early anyway"he said.
"WAIT!!!" a girlie voice screamed, we all turned to see a certain blondie running like her life depended on it to the bus.
Eve reached the bus faster than I thought she would. She climb in panting and dumped herself beside me. "I .Made. It"she panted, "You would have made it if you walked. He's parking so we could go to the deli"I said and pointed at the deli. She stared at me confused, "I guess if he were driving I'd never make it but why is he stopping by the Deli? it's not exactly like him"she said twirling her hair around her pinkie. A strange habit I've noticed she does when she's thinking.
"Don't over think it blondie, just, come to the deli with me before our 7minutes is up. Let's make one thing clear, simple and non expensive stuff okay now move, get out"I said and pushed past her.
I got out of the bus with her behind, I looked over my shoulder and noticed she had that weird look on her face again. "What is it"I said as I pushed the door open and pulled her in. I turned around to see her pinkish. "You're turning red"I stated, I watched her blink rapidly, opening and closing her mouth like a fish.
"You know you're wasting time, if you don't want to, just go back to the bus, if you're interested, meet me by the counter, it's simple Eve, but if you're sick go back home"I said and walked away.
"Hello there handsome, what can I getcha?"the older brunette Lady behind the counter said. She wore this big smile that could rival Mr. Peter's. "Yeah, I want 2 veggies wraps, a medium bag of fries, ham sandwiches and a fruit juice, orange for my sister's sake"I said looking around. She blinked down at me, "You sure that's all honey, you sure eat alot"she said as she started calculating my fee. "Hey! Half of those are nutritious, and no, Eve, make your order"I said, not taking my eyes off the sandwiches on display. "H-how did you know I'd be here?"she suttered, "I just did, now order or we'd both be late"I said and let my eyes drift around the room.
My eyes went wide once it locked on to something.
I calmed myself and looked back at them. Mr. Stranger and Mr. Peter sharing a table at a secluded corner, Mr.stranger talking and Mr.Peter nodding like a good doggie...uhm... person.
They were too far away for me to hear anything and we had about 1minute left. "Here you go kids, honestly, I'm actually surprised your driver let you all out here, despite it being good for business"the brunette Lady said once she handed us our take-outs. "That's what I've been thinking"Eve added and held hers to her chest.
"Can I ask who that man he's talking to is...Mrs?"I asked the lady. "Shelly, well I'm not sure but I think I've seen him on that business boy's security detail once, the one that's got all the young ladies excited?"Shelly answered. I noticed Eve rolled her eyes like she was disgusted by the thought of who ever business boy is.
"Thanks Mrs Shelly, I hope I'll see you again"I said with a genuine smile at her and paid. Eve looked at me like I was a pretty endangered bird.
"Move it blondie", she snapped out of her trance, looking a bit relieved.
We hurried out but still had to wait a while before the driver got back. "Everybody in?!"the driver hollered. Various murmurs of "yeahs" and "yes" came as his answer, then he floored the gas again, nearly throwing Eve out of her seat.... I pulled her up and close to me before she could reach the ground.
"Are you okay?"I asked once she was pressed on me. "Y-yes, thank you"she said and snuggled into me. I stared at her golden blonde her and her almost snow white skin.
****"****"****
"Eve?" "Yeah?" "We'll need to go to the beach sometime, you and I need a tan, yours is so you're blush won't be so obvious and mine so people will stop asking if my sister and I are truly related, it'll prevent me from harming people like that. So, what do you think?"I told her. She started turning pinkish again, "So, it's like a date then?"she asked shyly, clearly avoiding looking at me. "Uhm, whatever you wanna call it, you can ask your brother or sister to come with you, I'll be with my sister cause she'll never let me out of her sight. After school of course"I added, if I don't let her come, she'd follow on the roofs anyway.
"Okay"she said and tugged my hand. I blinked at her, guess I got side tracked, "come on, we're at school already"she said and pulled me out with her.
Our class mates gave us funny looks as we passed together, I ignored them, but Eve however started changing color again.
"Eve really, I'm this close to believing your not human"I groaned, "uhm sorry, but is that lady staring at us your sister?"she asked. I stopped in my tracks and looked around. "Where?" "The brown one wearing joggers in front of the entrance"
I looked forward again and, there she was. My sister in full flesh and blood, smiling as wide as her lips could stretch and waving.
"Eve, save me a seat will ya, thanks"I said and walked away from her, straight to my sister.
"Hey sweetpea!" She said, lowered herself to my height, and squeezed me. "Why are you here? How are you here?!"I asked not bothering to struggle.
"Well I decided to get back in shape, so I ran. I must say your bus driver isn't exactly child friendly...how was the deli by the way?"she asked.
I felt my right eye twitch.
"There is no way you ran all that way! For someone trying to get back into shape, that's nearly a marathon for you, especially since you went on roofs"I said and tugged hard on my hair, groaning. "Yeah, you're right, half way to the deli I met Maurie, so she drove me off...you seemed interested in someone. Who is he?"she asked sounding a bit too serious for the light hearted woman she is.
"I don't actually know, where's Maurie now? I don't have that much time but I did learn he's on some 'business boy's security detail. I hope you took a photo. And I want meatballs tonight, I've gotta go now love you doughnut"I said and hugged her back for a few seconds before running up the stairs.
