'First, Tower management structure and history.' Henry enters the library and faced the librarian.
The staff in charge of the library is a blue humanoid fish as it has a glass helmet with water. His gills moving on his neck. It's clearing a male due to its fierce look no nipples.
"Hi! I'm a new student. Can I ask where can I find a book about the history of the Tower? I'm just overwhelmed. Hehehe," Henry displayed his best polite smile and excited gleeful eyes after he removes his hood.
"Oooh? I love to help you there. Wait for me," he replied in a smooth voice that lacks hoarseness rather it has echoes like of deep calling.
'Why does he have a bluish aura? Is it about his core? Maybe... Why do I also feel his emotion? Empathy? Cool... Wait, I also feel it during the past but almost negligible.'
"Here it is..." He handed Henry a thick brown book. [The Tower's History] with its image being on the front page.
"Thank you... Can I ask you something?" Henry then tried to push for more.
"Go on..." He leans forward with interest.
"How long have you been here?"
"Hm... About two decades if I'm right. Why?"
"Ohh? Nothing, I'm just baffled by how fast you got the book from this place I can see that there is a vast number of bookshelves inside," Henry complements the librarian and the mermish smile at him in delight.
"It's nothing, I already read about half of the books in public display," he boasts for more and Henry smiles at him.
"Oh! Shit! I'm going to be late! Hahaha! It's my first time. It's wrong to be late. I'm Henry Karlos btw!" Henry then tries to hasten his action.
"Hurry! Instructor's have different views. Good to meet you Henry, Hagard Btw!" He shouted his name and Henry wave at him looking back while leaving.
'Haaa... It's easier than I thought. I hope Harbek's warning isn't true or it will be bad for me.'
Henry stands by the door of the lecture room. He didn't see anyone besides 30 divided small rooms.
'What the hell is this?'
Then a portal opens and a humanoid came out.
"Student?" When Henry stares at him he got familiar. An Elf, or rather a Night Elf.
"Yes sir," Henry bowed in response.
"What a polite kid. To enter an empty sit," he said. He has a resemblance to Marvel's Elf. He has long pointy ears, pale skin, and white eyes.
"Let's start... I'm D, your Instructor for years to come if you are still alive," he menacingly said that surely will be evil if a weird noise didn't come from beside Henry's room.
"Now, first we all know about cores. We here all have black magic cores. The topic here today is where, why, and how cores emerge?" D looks very amused in the silent lecture room. He is releasing his black mist to cover the whole room.
"As I know, every core is born from a magical being. That is where. Next, is why? It's due to adaptation and being constantly under such circumstances that lead us to have battery storage like how we store our food and digest it for energy. Last, is how? It's easy, through our orifices and skin. There is one special circumstance. Human, yes... The mortals aren't magically born but somehow they have magic cores. Well, they aren't magic born so they require special means. Contracts where the two sides will create a deal. Contractors will give the human what he wishes for in exchange for a copy of his Magic Core. It will cripple the contractor's core for a year before being fully healed," Henry has a knowing look as he thinks about it and his situation.
*Ding...*
'Oh! There is something like this? A bell for questions. This is becoming interesting...'
"What about Vessel, Avatar, and Retainer from Pantheon?" A voice that carried the sweet curse of death sleep came from behind that makes Henry shiver from the sheer feeling of sleepiness then black mist conjugate on his room shielding him from further influence.
'Shit... What just happen?'
"Ohhh! Those, they are unique beings except for retaine-"
*Ding....*
"Aren't retainers greater than them? They got their powers from hard work?" A hoarse voice that resembles the whisper of a demon came from beside where the chattering came.
"Yes, that's why they aren't unique. There are 1 trillion beings working very hard to rise in power so they aren't unique but lucky and smart. Vessels are chosen beings that will be born when a god dies, replacing him in his throne of power. While Avatars are the holders of will and right hand of every god. Retainers are people that rise in ranks that will be given a special core that have the same property as the god. The thing is that retainers core is a sub-core that can be taken back,"
'Oh! Shit on Holmes! Now we are kicking... I think this man is from the left side of the coin.'
*Ding!!*
"Sir D, I just want to ask. How do cores vary from one another if it's only an accumulation of energy?" The great me surely only ask well think questions.
"Ahh, that's easy. Everybody is unique in their ways. That is what we called WILL. It's like our signature to the world. If you are a stubborn fool then you may get Fire or Earth Core. Now let's move on. Rules of Black Magic," Henry nodded at his answer. Somehow he feels his WILL did helps him survive that ritual and create a new core for him.
"But we will summarize it in 1 world. Balance, that's it. Every black wizard will have corruption in some way or another. If you don't know. Corruption does and will give you more power. It will boost every curse and jinx you will do. On the opposite side, if it crosses the safety line of Corruption. Then I'm sorry for you, you'll either die from the hands of your colleagues or be kidnapped by Demon to be converted," He smiles like a maniac hunter waiting for his prey as the black mist plays around the room like it was looking for a target.
'Shit... Freaking fetishes. I hope I won't be a target by this monstrosity,' Henry keeps his smile.
