Chapter 2 - Party With The Mitsuyas~!

Welcoming the Mitsuya couple into the house, Miyuki exclaimed, "It's been so long, Emily! How have you been?"

Walking into the house, the brown-haired emerald-eyed woman took off her shoes, exclaiming, "I've been doing great!" Pulling Miyuki into a hug, "Come on, let's go catch up and introduce the babies to each other!"

Watching them walk off, Garret murmured, "So we're watching the older siblings again Henrich? We've got a lot to catch up on as well!"

Slinging his arm over Garret's shoulder, Henrich replied while brushing some of his red hair away, "Don't be so down in the dumps~ I know you like watching over Suzuki! Just like how I enjoy watching over my son Shousuke!"

"Yeah, yeah…" Garret sighed, guiding the small children and Henrich to the playroom, "So like... other than what we talk about at work every day, what's up?"

"Nothing much... Did I tell you I got invited to a Magic lecture as a guest speaker?" Henrich asked, holding the door open for Garret, "Apparently, they want to hear from someone who works with magic every day, which is me? Meh, I guess I do... but I also do a lot of paperwork."

Laughing, Garret retorted, "Well sucks to be you... I don't really get paperwork~ just chillin all day long~!"

"I don't care we work in different areas of the military," Henrich answered, waving his hand a few times, "you're just a trainer currently... lucky piece of shorts. I should've volunteered to help train some rookies too..."

"Nice censorship," Garret complimented, watching Suzuki and Shousuke play the games that 5-year-olds play, "So you're going to be a guest speaker? What are you speaking about?"

"Dude I don't know..." Henrich sighed, taking a seat at the side of the room, "I'm supposed to talk about what I specialize in, but you know, both our magic specializes in like... not so friendly areas... and some of the magic you and I use are government secrets."

Taking a seat next to Henrich, Garret asked, "So what are you going to do? Just talk about what you know about some other... more friendly magic?"

"So this might sound weird," Henrich prefaced, leaning back into his seat while keeping his eyes on the children, "I'm considering letting Emily do it instead, she specializes in support magic... which is much easier to present on compared to attack magic."

Keeping an eye on the two playing children, Garret agreed, "That's true, plus she's a lot better with her words than you Henrich..."

"I think we all know this Garret," Henrich chuckled, taking a picture of Shousuke and Suzuki playing with each other, "Those school presentations really pounded them in... she's just... a fountain of words."

--------

Meanwhile, the fountain of words was chatting with Miyuki, "So I know we can't really introduce our children... but we can let them see each other, while we catch up!"

Giggling, Miyuki cradled Erina while asking, "So any news since we last talked yesterday?"

"Not much to be honest," Emily replied, rocking Yuiko in her arms, "I was going to ask about like, how are you and stuff... but we already see each other at work every day, so I don't really know..."

"Oh yeah, didn't you tell me at one point you might be speaking somewhere as a guest speaker? Why don't you tell me about that?" Miyuki asked, getting comfortable in her chair.

Nodding Emily explained, "Henrich asked me to be a guest speaker instead of him because he can't talk about a lot of the magic he uses while I can... I'll probably just start easy, talking about the language of magic, moving onto the tiers of magic after... Since they should all know that, I'll then move on, talking about how at the higher levels of magic, the different tiers don't actually matter."

"That's true..." Miyuki murmured, shifting her position slightly, "Many people learn magic believing that the high tiered magic is always better than every magic in a tier below. Holds them back from getting to the highest level."

Taking a quick sip of water, Emily asked, "So what do you think? Is there anything else I should speak about?"

"I think you're good... maybe just show off some spells?" Miyuki pondered, looking out the window, "Like, wow them real quick... maybe use large but simple area magic? Add some flourish maybe? We all know you like adding your flourishes!"

Breaking into a large smile, Emily chuckled, "Of course! I'm the master of adding flourish, it's my passion in life! Thanks for the advice though... I think I'll start off with one magic, and end off with another... get their respect and then leave an impression of course!"

Sighing, Miyuki murmured, "Both of us haven't even studied psychology... you might not even be right..."

"Meh, who cares?" Emily asked laughing, "Not me! Even if it's wrong~ it won't hurt showing off some cool spells will it?"

Laughing as well, Miyuki agreed, "I guess... well, knock yourself out... you want me to take care of Yuiko and Shousuke that day? Or has Henrich got it covered?"

Spending the rest of the afternoon chatting, Miyuki and Emily met up with the others to make dinner.

"So we're all making dinner together?" Garret asked, rolling up his sleeves, "Sounds like we're going on an adventure... it'll be a fun one though... and tiring."

"Don't be such a party pooper, Garret!" Henrich laughed, fist-bumping Garret, "It'll be hard, but we'll be in it together!"

"We put the babies in their cribs, and the older children are playing in Suzuki's room, so cooking will be easy!" Miyuki exclaimed, putting on an apron, "So let's get cracking!"

Handing an apron to Henrich and Garret while donning her own, Emily agreed, "It'll be great!"

Cooking up a banquet, both families ate to their heart's content while chatting about various topics ranging from childcare all the way to the newest innovations being made in the several technology fields.

Finishing dinner, the Noragi couple saw off the Mitsuya couple before going back to their room to prepare for bed.

"That was fun wasn't it Miyuki?" Garret chuckled, looking at Miyuki's happy face, "It's been a while since we could just hang out hasn't it."

Nodding, Miyuki exclaimed, "It was so nice talking to Emily outside of work..."

"Also~ I was talking to Emily... and I think it'd be nice for Yuiko and Erina to become friends," Miyuki added, getting into bed, "With Erina's condition, it'd be cool for her to be friends with Yuiko. It'll be a good friendship that could last her whole life. Plus, Yuiko could help take care of Erina too if something really bad happens when we aren't around."

Climbing into bed next to Miyuki, Garret agreed, "Yeah, that'd be good! We shouldn't force it, but we should let the two have more time to interact. Then, hopefully, they'll become friends!"

"Yeah~!" Miyuki agreed, pulling up the covers, "It'll be great~!"
