Azure Dragon 5 respectfully reported to Cult Master Chen Luoyang, "Dragon Scale 45, 62, and 97 are assigned to Amrita Manor."
Chen Luoyang wanted to check on them. Azure Dragon 5 and Dragon Claw 11 were surprised but hid it well. They led him to the manor's secret underground basement, where Dragon Claw 11 stayed on the surface to guard.
The underground area was dark but well-ventilated. As they walked, they heard faint cries coming from a room. Azure Dragon 5 explained that Dragon Scale 62 was interrogating a prisoner from a C-class faction called Pegasus Mountain.
Chen Luoyang learned that Dragon Scale 70 had infiltrated Pegasus Mountain, and with the help of Dragon Scales 45 and 62, they aimed to gain control of the faction and its valuable transportation and information network. The Demon Cult used their skilled agents to infiltrate various factions in the Central Divine Province.
Azure Dragon 5 led Chen Luoyang to a stone room, where Dragon Scale 97 was reading a scroll. The scroll contained information about an illegitimate child of the Wind Fire Valley's Second Valley Master, a B-class faction. Dragon Scale 97 had memorized the information and spent time with the child to imitate his behaviour and learn his martial arts.
Azure Dragon 5 showed Chen Luoyang a human skin mask, which they would use to impersonate the child. The real child had already been captured by the Demon Cult. Chen Luoyang realized the true nature of the Demon Cult and struggled to maintain his composure.
He collected himself and didn't show any change in expression. He responded with a simple "Mm," while opening the scroll beside his hand. The first thing he saw was the name and Four Pillars of Destiny. Then, it detailed appearance, distinctive features, temperament, habits, martial arts origins, family background, relationships, and other basic information.
The scroll contained up to a hundred pages, which recorded the person's entire life experiences. There were so many details that even specific conversations, dates, places, and food consumed were included. Some of the content might have been confessed by the person or observed in secret. The level of detail was truly amazing, and some records could have started with the previous generation of the Demon Cult Master.
Armed with this detailed information, the operation would normally be smooth and easy to execute. The shadows of the Demon Cult continued to corrode the Divine Province. Chen Luoyang thought of his subordinates and their various roles, realizing that he was the mastermind behind the scenes. He wondered if it would be better for the public to view members of the Demon Cult as magnanimous, heroic, loyal, and genuine individuals instead of villains.
Chen Luoyang closed the scroll and praised the duo, encouraging them to continue their efforts. He offered advice on improving their skills and urged them not to become complacent. Afterward, he turned his attention to the jade scrolls, which contained information on the Grand Divine Province and his circumstances.
After spending an entire night reading, Chen Luoyang had a better understanding of the situation. Following breakfast with Ying Qingqing, he had his chief attendant escort her away. He then returned to his room to continue reading the jade scrolls.
At noon, he heard a commotion outside the manor. He summoned Azure Dragon 5, who reported that enemies were attacking the manor. Chen Luoyang maintained his composure and subtly chastised Azure Dragon 5 for the situation, causing him to break out in a cold sweat.
