"Hey Harry. Thanks again for helping me clean out the attic."
"You said it was easy money Jake, so of course I'd help."
Jake and Harry are two typical friends who have known each other since second grade. They're now both in different colleges with many goals (one of them being "To lose our V-cards") and Jake has spent his last day at his mother's house trying to clean it as a surprise for his mother before he moved into a dorm.
"You finally going to ask her out?" Harry asked Jake.
"Ask who out?" Jake asked.
"You know who I'm talking about dickhead."
Jake continued to pretend that he had no clue as to who Harry was talking about.
"Lisa. Lisa Meyer. The girl you've had eyes for since fifth grade. Your childhood friend."
"Oh! You mean the girl who would reject me/friendzone me before I even mutter a single word out of my mouth, causing me to lose her as a friend along my will to live." Jake said with sarcasm.
Lisa Meyer was a loner at school, but she always went out of her way to help others. She didn't know a lot about Harry, but she was pretty close with Jake.
"Well, she most certainly won't go out with you when you like like that." Harry joked.
"What's wrong with the way I look?" Jake asked.
"You're hair is messy, you have bags under your eyes, and your clothes and obsessions scream 'WEEB!"
Harry actually screamed that last word.
"Don't make fun of me. It's just what I like."
After a few moments of the two of them arguing what the best arc in Sword Art Online was, an object behind them fell to the ground.
'THUD!'
"What just fell?" Harry asked as he quickly turned around.
"Oh shit! I hope is wasn't something valuable!" Jake cursed as he quickly headed over to where the sound came from.
What Jake found, however, was something that he had never seen before.
"What the..." Jake paused.
"What is it?" Harry said right behind him.
"It's some kind of...camera"
"A camera?"
"Yeah. It looks pretty old though."
Jake clicked what looked like the power button and it turned back on after a few musical notes.
"I think this thing was made in the 80's," Jake said. "The screen looks like you're watching a homemade VHS tape."
Jake pointed the camera at Harry.
"Smile for the camera!" Jake joked.
Harry didn't say anything back. In fact, he didn't even move.
"Uh, Harry," Jake questioned him as he waved a hand in front of his face. "You ok?"
Suddenly...
"I kinda want to go home and masturbate to pornography, so can I have my money now." Harry said as he held his hand out.
Jake lowered the camera and had the most confused expression.
"Umm...ok?" Jake said.
Jake slowly walked down the stairs that led to the attic and went to get his wallet.
'He's probably just doing a poor attempt at a joke.' Jake thought. 'I'll just play along with it. We're done cleaning anyways.'
Jake was about to head back up to the attic until he suddenly saw Harry running to him.
"Something 'important' come up." Jake said with a few winks.
Harry was breathing heavily and looked like he was panicking.
"You ok?" Jake asked.
"Did I fall asleep?" Harry quickly asked.
"No, I don't think so." Harry said.
Harry backed away a bit from Jake and rubbed his forehead for a bit.
"I'm not feeling well right now," Harry said as he started heading to the front door. "I'm gonna head home."
"Um, ok," Jake said. "Here, take this."
Jake gave Harry the money and sent him on his way with a 'Get well soon.'
'I hope he's ok.' Jake thought to himself.
