The two girls sat by the fireplace while Anna Gale sighed as she pulled the three mattresses upstairs bit by bit.
She refused that they help her and almost cried as she realized how heavy they are. But still stubbornly persisted taking up at least one and leaving two downstairs stacked one on other.
The books were placed for now in far corner and the bowls in the corner with pots and pans.
With a sigh she yawned and realized she was dead tiered. But she had no wish loosing this chance and already prepared few big plastic bags.
As soon she was done clearing stuff the gate opened up again and she asked something it wormed her.
"If we put timelines of gate one after another and connected them to each other, then no big problem might happen." She actually just wanted three hours in one swipe.
*Time between opening gates has to be at least one hour. You can't connect them into one. We can connect them so that you can stay safely there only for one hour a time."
Anna Gale knew this so the best she will get and agreed.
"Good. Then let's start." She crossed the gate and went straight to nearest room and grabbed as much clothes she could find.
Next room was children room so she brought bunch of stuffed toys and games.
The two girls rushed to just drag them into the house and she finally found rain clothes and boots, but only girls could use it as they er tiny.
With resignation she grabbed them and stuffed the bag and added various other things like beddings.
Anna saw that there was only twenty minutes left and rushed to take shower and rushed just in time back.
"This time I'll sleep downstairs. You two sleep up." She stretched her arms and smiled at them. "I brought something you two will like."
They already used the chance to go to toilet in the other world and brought bunch of toilet paper with them.
Now that they saw a pair of plastic rain boots and rain jacket they cheered. Even if it's raining they can go to outer house on their own.
Anna Gale could only chuckle and slowly dried her hair but the the oven.
Rice was long done, but they ate just now.
Anna Gale still didn't let Alice cook on her own as she almost burned herself on to fireplace.
"You can see what kind of clothes villagers wear and try sewing such clothes. I don't think our clothes are appropriate here."
Alice glanced at them and remebered how the young man reacted as he realized that they were girls.
"Map."
The map opened up and she narrowed picture so much that the people were visible so clearly like they stood next to them.
Females wore long brown dresses with black apron in front of them. They had for a hair cover brown scarves.
Young unmarried maidens wore braids while married women had closed hair into a low bun.
Shoes were various as everyone had own style. only clothes looked similar, but not the same.
"I could make these as upper garment over our thick clothes. But wearing these like they wear it, it would be too cold." Alice shook her head.
Anna Gale nodded. ''We can slowly make such clothes for winter time. For now, I must find store that has cloth we can use to make those. Anyway. Let's go to sleep. The night is coming and I still need to get our solar lights here. Sigh, I really need to bring one glass window."
Whole day in closed room without sunlight was boring and not only that, it was not healthy.
Anna Gale dragged her tiered body to her new bed and just entered the beddings she took from neighbors home.
They still smelled fresh as she probably washed them before this happened.
That night she slept so deep that she didn't hear her two sisters coming down in morning.
Alice glanced and the donut that was her sister and shook her head. "She is tired."
"Yes. Let her sleep a bit longer. It seems we won't be eating bread today." Michelle Gale pouted as her hungry belly growled.
Since this apocalypse started she started having a huge hunger. But she didn't dare to tell her sister about it.
Anna could hear their whispers and slowly opened just one eyes. The other eyes was tightly pressed in the pillow and was still sleeping.
The open eyes was red and visibly sleepy, but she pushed herself to wake up... unwillingly.
"Before the gate opens up, let us make food." Suddenly the notification appeared on front of them.
*Gate to Earth ready.*
"Not going now. In two hours." Anna Gale wanted to wake up, make bread and eat something before going.
Suddenly she stilled. "Open map of my city."
The map opened up and she saw few people rushing here and there from house to house.
The most important thing was, the mall. "Can the gate be opened up in the mall?"
The gate suddenly appeared and a long hallway in the mall could be seen.
"No zombies?"
*No zombies.*
She looked at her sisters and chuckled. "Let's go and buy bread. Even if most of it is rotten, there are still those that are turned into toast and similar. And we can drive the pushing cars."
The mall had huge store and they could get ninety percent of their supplies exactly here.
The two girls were fired up.
"Sister, can I have a chocolate?" Alice loved sweets, but they never bought much.
"Yes, chocolate and cookies and chips." Anna Gale calmly agreed.
She didn't see any humans near the mall and each of them carefully just hushed over the street, not planning to go that far away.
She glanced at the small house and rubbed her temples. "We must find way to put things into that hidden place of Mrs Stevenson."
*Secondary gate approved.*
Huh?
Huh??!
She jumped from her bed and put her clothes on. Both gates appeared right there so they will have to push everything here and then into Stevens home. "Can the secondary gate be in basement?"
*Your request has been denied. Gate can be open currently only on the ground floor.*
Oh, there is such a thing...
