"Like Soulless?" Zierra broke the silence that followed Noah's reveal.
"No like physical daemons," he looked scared and fidgeted with his hands. "Some of the elders have said they'll start with the house in the woods and eventually make their way to town and slaughter us."
"Unlikely," both turned to me as I spoke, my voice tense as I stood from the crate I was sitting on. "Greater daemons wouldn't hold up in an abandoned house in the forest if they wanted to feed off your town."
"But the elders-" he started but I cut him off by slamming a hand on his desk, making him shrink back in fear.
"You're elders don't know shit about greater daemons," I growled. "Trust me, if a greater daemon had their sights on slaughtering your town then you'd all be dead by now."
"Sapphyre," I felt a calming hand on my shoulder and, as always, Zierra's gentle presence was enough to make me take a calming breath.
