It replied with another hiss. Zack turned around and began walking again, and took out the summoning scroll to check its loyalty.

'Hm, so spending time outside like this strengthens our bond? I wonder how much fighting together will make it increase. . .' he thought while putting the scroll away.
Not long after that interaction, Zack began to see the thick forest come to an end. The open field was another five minutes or so away at the pace they were going. However, Zack got on all fours and began to crawl.
Although it was painstakingly slow, this was the safest way for an amateur hunter like Zack to approach his prey. At least, that's what Diz had told him. It seemed to hold true in practice, so Zack didn't bother questioning it.
