Chapter 1 - The Beginning

My awareness slowly rose with every breath, I cough slightly as I slowly sat up, my brown shoulder length hair trailing down my neck and playing at the wind. my gold eyes glisten as I scan the emerald green meadow below the cliff i sat upon.

My name is Sira Dragonflame, and i knew little else. age, favorite color, or even family all gone! Lost in the wake of something happening to me, something that has caused me to panic as I slowly stood, my faded lilac purple dress torn and shrouded in dirt stains and stains of other sorts. My hands small yet calloused, showing I had worked hard at something, but what?

The sounds of a swinging hammer come to mind but I shake that thought from my mind. Who would ever hire a girl in a blacksmith shop? My hands glide down the dress till they cup the hem near my knees as I brush off what I can, my bare toes wriggling slightly in the tall grass that was yellowed underneath me.

I slowly start forward, making small sounds as I continue forward. The grass shortened as I neared the edge of the cliff, as if to signify it's appearance. Cracks of rock and soil hit the air as the ground under me gave way, rocks, grass and dirt flew around me as I fell, a scream echoing from my mouth.

Pain flares in multiple spots on my ankle and back, my ankle hitting a stump and my back hit rocks as I rolled, I come to a stop at the bottom, the emerald green grass tainted with brown as dirt slipped past it. I gasp in pain as I held my ankle for a minute to ease the pain. I stand and slowly slowly limp away from the landslide. I look behind me to see the extent of my fall, the long angled cliff littered with grass, dirt, a stump here or there and large boulders with small rocks littered about.

Flames of pain spark in my ankle but i push them aside, I needed to find civilization to try to figure out where I am. Aching pain flares through me as I continue walking through the emerald green meadow till suddenly the ground gave way under me again and I slipped off into the black of sleep.
