This is too much!
Theeya screamed suddenly at the top of her lungs.
She felt suffocated and could not open her eyes as it stung when she tried to open them.
The ground gave way and she felt that she was falling down freely and this time she embraced the free fall.
"Such a nice feeling to just fall and fall and fall, not caring about doing anything or making any decisions," she thought.
After what seemed like an eternity, her peaceful soirée was abruptly ended as she fell with a soft thud.
She tried peeking out of one eye and then discovered that it no longer stung so she carefully opened both eyes.
The sun was peeking out from the window and she was back in the current world. It was the bedroom that Zaccheus tucked her in before they time travelled back to their past life.
She took a deep breath in and exhaled with a loud sigh.
"So we are back here now. And I am still legally married to Zaccheus. I wonder how Jeff is and the rest of the Forty Thieves descendant. It seemed like so long ago since I last talked to them," she wondered as she reached out to her mobile phone which was surprisingly fully charged and with full reception.
Suddenly it rang.
"Hello, Theeya speaking. Yes. I am fine. No, I can't be there yet. Okay. Alright. 2 o'clock. Okay. I will see you then," and she hung up.
She glanced at the clock and it showed 11am.
She saw that Zaccheus left a note on the bedside table:
"Time's up. So we are back. Enjoy your day. Remember that you are my wife. Credit card is in your purse. PIN number is 9989. Go shopping. Have fun. Love, Zaccheus."
She smiled.
"Freedom."
So she could actually leave the house now.
She got ready and stepped out of her room in a sky blue sundress and shades.
A maid asked if she'd like to have her meal and she shook her head and asked for the car keys instead.
"Milady, over here please," she was shown to the garage with over 20 top of the line cars for her to choose from.
She tried hard not to show her amazement and schooled her expression.
"Give me the keys to the red Mini Cooper," she said.
The maid complied and she stepped into the cute little red car.
Her stomach was growling when she stepped into the restaurant.
"Welcome to Paradise, Ma'am," a smiling waiter with the nametag Alex opened the door for her.
"Reservation for two under the name of Everett," she said.
"Over here, please, Ma'am," he showed her to the table.
She was an hour early.
As she was famished she started ordering first and was halfway through her steak when a familiar voice greeted her from behind.
"Theeya!!! It's you! I thought I would never see you again!"
Theeya swallowed the morsel of food in her mouth and turned around.
Jeff looked as dashing as ever and her heart still skipped a beat as he flashed his signature smile at her.
She did not bother to stand up as she was in the middle of her meal so she just pointed to the empty seat in front of her motioning him to sit down.
He was disappointed she was less than enthusiastic to see him but he took the seat anyway.
A waitress with the name tag Jane came by to ask Jeff if he wanted something to drink and he absentminded told her to give him whatever the lady was having to dismiss her quickly.
Theeya continued to cut into her steak and brought the piece up to her mouth and slowly chewed on the juicy meat as she listened to Jeff's tirade of almost angry ranting and complaints about how irresponsible she was to have ran away and left him hanging when they were supposed to be married.
"Bla... bla... bla...." was all Theeya could hear coming from Jeff's mouth.
She finally finished her steak and wiped her mouth.
Jeff looked at her expectantly, but she did not speak nor acknowledge his mlm.
She then took a look of the menu and motioned to the waitress, and Jane came by with a smile and took her order of dessert.
"I feel like cheesecake for dessert would you like one too, Jeff?" She finally spoke to him.
He sighed and nodded, "Yes, I can have cheesecake."
"Two cheesecakes and English Breakfast tea for me please. Thanks Jane," she smiled at the waitress who seemed chirpier than the man seated from across the table from me.
She turned to look at Jeff.
His steak untouched in front of him.
"Let's talk about the meal, okay? Eat up," she smiled at him as she sipped the red wine from the goblet.
Jeff looked flabbergasted at Theeya. She seemed like the same woman 5 days ago yet she felt like a totally different woman altogether.
"I am no longer the love-struck young lady who hangs on to your every word, Professor Everett," she thought inwardly to herself.
He grudgingly cut into his steak and started eating his lunch.
The waitress Jane came by with two cheesecakes and Theeya devoured one in a matter of seconds.
Time travel really ate up a lot of her energy!
"You can have the other cheesecake if you want. I didn't know you like cheesecake so much," Jeff said.
She didn't wait for him to finish his sentence and attacked the second slice immediately.
With a satisfied look on her face, she smugly smiled at Jeff as he finished his steak.
He was gobbling it down with red wine.
He wanted to get the eating part out of the way so that she would talk to him.
He wiped his mouth and looked up at her with quizzical eyes.
"Where had you been, Theeya?" Jeff finally asked.
"I've been around. I got married so I was on my honeymoon," she said matter-of-fairly as Jeff's eyes widened in a mix of horror and shock.
"You got married? To who?!?" He nearly screamed.
"Some rich guy," she calmly stated.
His eyes betrayed his emotions as looks of disbelief, betrayal and disappointment all came in one after another.
Theeya could almost hear his brain wrecking itself, trying to make sense of what just happened.
Just then her phone rang. It was Zaccheus.
"Excuse me, I need to get this call, it's my husband," she said as she looked at Jeff whose mouth was like a fish out of water, gasping for air while no sound came from it.
"Hello dear. Yes. Alright. I should be done in awhile. Yes, at Paradise restaurant. See you then, bye," she put down her phone and smiled brightly at Jeff.
"Would you like to meet him? He's on the way here," she put on her sweetest smile at Jeff who just looked at her unblinkingly.
