Chereads / THE RED PHOENIX / Chapter 6 - "The Doubt"

Chapter 6 - "The Doubt"

"Love doesn't die out of distance. It dies out of doubt."

*

Dylan sat up slightly as I gathered up and continued to recite my old memory.

'"Run! We shouldn't stay here! He can't hurt you again!"

"I can't escape, sister. He said he is my owner now. If I ran away, I wouldn't be happier again..."

This guy must have been crazy or something. Just as I was holding the girl in my arms, the man burst out, gasping on his nose. I started yelling.

As I screamed, someone finally heard my voice. A man came up and took my wrists and told me to stay calm. I glued him to the ground as I hit the man. I didn't know where this power was coming from. Someone took a step towards me while everyone around was giving me an uneasy glance.

"Don't come close... Don't... Don't... Don't touch... Don't hold my wrists... Don't touch..."'

"I was delirious, it was the last thing I remembered. I passed out. This is it. That's why I fainted that day. I'm sorry if I scared you. "

He was looking at me, his gaze was so deep. He sat next to me on the bed. He gently lifted my wrists and gave tiny little kisses. I was staring at him hypnotized as he left the most beautiful kisses in the world on my wrists. Why was he doing this? Why was he getting me so high?

He stopped kissing my wrists and started kissing my fingertips. Everywhere was burning now. Dylan was throwing me into the fire. But I was enjoying it. Maybe fire was in my nature. I did not know.

Dylan finally let go of my wrists and started bowing to my face. What was he doing? He blew his breath into my neck suddenly, thinking he was going to kiss my lips. He spoke in a hoarse voice as I waited for what would happen with my eyes closed.

"These wrists are mine now. I have sealed them to myself. I'll wipe that man's touches one by one. Maybe your wounds will leave scars, but I'll heal you anyway."

"Don't do this for me..."

"Not for you... for myself... I can't stay away from you, I can't get well. I feel you Elizabeth. In every cell. And it's not good..."

These ones were not funny at all. He parted his lips again as I stared at his face like a fool.

"Welcome to my world, Elizabeth..."

After he said this, his body began to color. I heard voices as black smoke wrapped around his body.

"Dylan, get the girl in your net! You know, buddy... Nobody can say no to someone like you!"

"I don't know, David! The girl seems to have caught me in her net..."

"What does that mean?"

"I'm impressed by the girl. I don't know, but I can feel her emotions. I just think about her. I guess it might be better if someone else does it for me..."

"Dylan, don't worry about this! She's the heir of both Phoenix Fire and the cursed blue fire! It's normal to be impressed by her. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll hate her when your vengeance takes over!

"I do not know..."

These voices were coming from Dylan's head. His old memory that he was thinking now was echoing in my mind. Phoenix Fire... Cursed blue fire... Emotions... Heir... What was that? Cold soul, warm heart... What are you Dylan? I looked carefully at Dylan. I didn't know how many minutes we were looking at each other. His eyebrows were still the same when his old memory came to his mind. I reached out and smiled.

"I'm sleepy, Dylan. See you, okay?"

He was startled and looked at me in surprise.

"Ah! Sure... See you... Have a nice sleep..."

He leaned over my face and kissed my forehead. When he left my room, I remembered the dream I had when I had an accident. Looking at the smoke in the air, I raised my hands and wanted the smoke to disappear. The smoke disappeared but left a clue behind. Looking at the statue on the floor, it no longer looked as meaningless as it used to be. The statue was a fairy now!

For minutes I looked at the statue. This object, which previously meant nothing to me, now took on a shape that I will never forget. My hand burned when I touched the statue and I immediately stepped back. However, I have kicked it.

I should have taken the golden fairy statue from there. If it burns others as it burns me, that wasn't good at all. It wasn't good at all!

I sat on the floor and brought both hands around the statue. I'm focused. Right now I was aware that I was doing something stupid, but the feeling that I could do it took over me.

I wanted the statue not to hurt me and I wanted to be able to take it. My body was shivering from the cold. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. When I opened my eyes again, the statue turned blue. I touched the statue, it was ice cold. I froze the statue. How did that happen?

I took the statue with both hands and placed it in the deepest corner of my closet. I covered it. I sat on my bed hoping that no one would find it. What could I do like this? Who was I? Is Elizabeth Vincent really a normal person, or a creature who doesn't know what she can do?

While I was thinking about these, my mother called me from below. I ran down the stairs and looked at my mother who was sitting in front of the TV. She smiled slightly when she saw me coming.

"Sit down, Elizabeth."

I sat next to her and looked right into her eyes. I was curious about the thoughts running through her mind. I wanted to hear them. And I heard...

"You have grown so much, my daughter. What a beautiful girl you are. I wish I could forget the fear that you will leave me, but I cannot. I see them every night. They take you and they leave. I cannot stop them. They want you. They want to kill you and take your soul and heart. I am so sorry..."

I expected my mother to speak with my expressionless face as her thoughts floated through my mind one by one. She seemed uneasy and indecisive. She kept correcting her speech in her mind. But I heard everything. It must have been difficult for her to say that. I stood up and smiled at my mother.

"Mom, can we talk later? I have some work outside..."

"Ah… Sure, my daughter. We can talk later."

"Okay. Can I stay in Gwen tonight?"

"Okay dear. You can stay."

"Thank you."

I quickly put on my coat and shoes and went to the Gwen. When Gwen opened the door she went out before I could go inside.

"What happened, Gwen?"

"I was just going to come to you. Anyway... Shall we go to you?"

"No. I just ran away from home. Let's stay here."

"Not here. We had a fight with my mother a little… Anyway, it's always happening. But now I don't want to listen to her."

"Let's sleep on the street then, Gwen! I'm coming here to get rid of her. It's as if you wouldn't fight today."

"What will happen? We can sleep in the park ahead. The benches there are more comfortable than the beds in our house!"

When we both laughed, two young men passing by the street stared at us laughing.

"What are you laughing at?"

The faces of the men fell suddenly. Just as either of them was coming towards us, he pulled the man next to him laughing.

"Sorry ladies... Good evening."

They walked away laughing. Gwen suddenly squeezed my arm as I looked after them.

"Oh! Gwen don't do it!"

"I do! Why are you standing up to the guys? What if they had done something?"

"Never mind!"

"Oh okay! So why did you run away from home?"

"My mother knows, Gwen. I just had to get out of the house. I'm not considered to have run away."

"Okay Elizabeth. I'm not pushing you. You'll tell me at last everything!"

"You know me well, sister."

"I know of course. Anyway, let's go to the park. There were times when I slept there. Nobody interferes with us there. They are already using that park for sleeping."

While we were both giggling, we had already come to the park a little far from their home. There were two opposite benches. I slept on one and Gwen slept on the other. Although it was a little cold, it seemed comfortable. Come on, it was comfortable for a bench so...

Gwen and I were looking at each other. I could give my life for this girl. I love her so much. I didn't realize Gwen was smiling at me because I was smiling unconsciously.

"What are you smiling at, Elizabeth?"

"I'm smiling at myself."

"Why?"

"I realized that I love you very much, so I smile at myself."

"You crazy... I love you too."

"Aa! I was going to ask you something. How's it going with Tom?"

She smacked my forehead when I moved my eyebrows up and down.

"Girl, I would tear your eyebrows. Stay relaxed!"

"Okay okay. Tell me. Come on. I am curious!"

"It's going well. But it's like there's no excitement. I don't know. It's like he doesn't feel anything towards me. But he also feels like. I'm confused so..."

"Got it. Don't make a problem. I think you'll fix it."

"We've been fixed already!"

I looked at the owner of the voice coming behind us. Tom, Dylan, and a few strangers were looking at us laughing. What were they doing here?
