Chapter 3 - Randy

Hey y'all! I'm Randy Trường! As you may sort of know me since I sent a text back to my friends GC that Ivy created for us to chat instead of texting each other individually & then spreading the news to everyone else in our "Gang" (though we are in different grade levels) & we've basically known each other since we were all in diapers.

The text that I texted to Emma saying, "Hey Emma... you shouldn't be huffing about that you have to travel to Vegas for four freaking hours long. What Ivy had said was right, you shouldn't be the one complaining about that... but she should be the one complaining about going to her dad's farm which is nearly half a day long."

And then just like that... everyone jumped in that message and texted right back stating, "Agreed. Uh huh, Randy's right." and all of those other things like that. Soon after that, half of us were defending Ivy while that other half are defending Emma. The fight was continuous until Henry managed to change the subject to something else other than bickering about whose trip is gonna be longer and stuff.

Honestly, after Henry changes the subject everything went all smooth again until Ivy picked up her phone and decided to FaceTime us... "Hey guys." Ivy said monotonously. "Hey Ives. What's up with you talking so monotonously?" Danny asks Ivy, confused. Ivy shrugs her shoulders saying (normally in her regular voice), giggling, "I don't know... maybe because I'm going on a trip to Sacramento with my family and friends... maybe that's why... who knows?"

And then it hit me... hard. I just realized that I was going on a trip to Northern California (AKA Sacramento) as well... the same day that Ivy, her family and her parents friends (whom my family also knows... as well...) so my parents are planning to come over to her house later so that the parents can sit down and talk about the trip to Sacramento. While they're at it, Ivy and I are planning something for our gang during so that things don't get out of hand while we're out of time during that week.

Ivy and I are the ones in charge of our group chat and the controlling the whole gang. Her as the head, and me as the assistant. Ivy and I are the most strictest of all so that voted Ivy as head of the group, and me as her assistant. We're to control the others behaviors when it gets out of hand and the others can't do anything about it, either Ivy or I has to step in and break up the argument. We're also known as the "peacemakers" in our group as well...

Well anyways... I'm just chilling in my room (more like daydreaming...) when I suddenly hear, "RANDY!!!!! LET'S GET GOING TO IVY'S!!!! RANDY THIỆN TROUNG!!! GET YOUR LITTLE BOTTOM DOWN HERE!!! RANDYYYYY!!!!!" That... was my younger sister, Rachel. I literally jerked up sitting upright and fell right off of my bed with a thud. "Owww..." I muttered getting up, rubbing my bottom and tell the others, "Hey. I gotta go now. Bye guys. I'll see you later Ivy." Ivy turns and looks at me and says, "Uh, okay... see ya then Randy. 'Kay, see you then man." Danny says jutting his chin out at the camera and then hanging up.

One by one, everyone then went and hung up on the phone. "COMING!!!" I call back, mimicking my younger sister's voice. As I quickly went over to my closet, pulled my shoes on and then ran downstairs. "Let's go?" I ask as my dad nods and then go over to the door, opening it and stepping out into the fresh spring air of the late day in May with Rachel close on my heels and Reagan talking to my mom while they walked out onto the front porch.

Dad was turning the security alarm on in the house, so he's gonna be coming out of the house later while we wait for him in the car (that's what we normally would do anyways... so... yeah...). We all piled into the car with me sitting up front (of course...) with Reagan, Rachel and mom piling in the back seats. I'm the only boy in my family (not counting my dad)... and the middle too...

JUST KIDDING!!! I'm not the only boy in my family. I have an older brother whose currently out of the country for college and won't be able to come back to California so we're going to the ones flying over there for Forth of July (our gang and our families). My older brother's name Ryan and he's in an English college in England.

So... yeah... so my dad's in the car now (driving...) and we're gonna go over to Ivy's house so that my parents could discuss with her mom about our trip to Sacramento and about us staying with them at her sister's house in San Jose.

Both our dad's has a farm in Sacramento and they're near each other. They're diagonal from each other about a mile or two (about 10-15 minutes (if on bike) 20-25 minutes (if walking) five minutes (if driving the RTV/ any other vehicles) away from one another. So basically, we can literally drive the RTV (for those who don't know what an RTV is, it's like a gold cart but made for off-road) to each other's farm and back.

Or we'd walk or ride our bikes over there and then switch bikes (which we'd always do when we know each other's family's there or not- if not, we'd usually just stay on our farm, hang out and help out). It was always us hanging out with each other every time we were there and excited too.

Out of everyone in my gang, Ivy and I are the ones who are the closest of all. We're basically best friends... but... I think we're more than just friends. The way I have been acting when I'm around Ivy and the way she's been acting around me when I'm around.

Welp... we're in the car ride to Ivy's house (obviously...) and we're about five to ten minutes away from Ivy's house. When we were almost there, my dad looked over at me telling me, "Randy, call Ivy and tell her that we're almost at her house would you?" I nodded and pulled my phone out and dialed Ivy's number.

Ivy picked up a moment later saying very monotonously, "Hello? This Ivy speaking. How can I help you?" I cleared my throat and then Ivy perked up quickly. "Yes? What's up?" Ivy asks normally. "Hey, we're almost to your house by the way." I say, "we're about four, five minutes away."

"That's nine minutes!" Isaac calls from afar. My parents, siblings and I all laugh because Isaac always makes a joke like that every single time someone says a number with no pause in between. Even on the other end of the line, Ivy's laughing too.

"Well anyways... see you later then Ivy." I say as I maintain myself from laughing. "O-o-okay. S-s-see you later Ra-Ra-Ra-Randy!" Ivy stutters while still laughing. "Bye." I say, "Baiiii!!!!" Ivy says as she hangs up.

"Oh... Em... Geeee...!!!!" Reagan exclaims, smiling, "Ivy's got a so super funny brother! Wish you were like that Randy. But we already have Ryan making all of the jokes and stuff." I gave a weak smile and say quietly, "Yeah..." Reagan notices the tone in my voice, her smile falters and she says, "Oh, I forgot that Ryan was your role model and everything. I'm so sorry Randy. I'm SUPER sorry Ran."

I managed to smile a little and tell Reagan, "Hey, it's okay. It's been awhile since we've seen Ryan so we might've forgotten our older brother. So it's okay sis, I forgive you though." Reagan let's out a sigh and then says, "I guess you're right Ran. I just sometimes forget that we had an older brother and I keep thinking that you're the only male in the family... BESIDES DAD just because Ryan is 5,323.21 miles away from us in England. It's hard, I get it."

And then we were in front of Ivy's house just like that. The heck, how is it possible that Reagan and I were talking for the whole four, five minutes left of the ride over to Ivy's house? I thought, making a face.
