"What took you so long, Em?" James asked curiously, finding it odd Emma had stayed in his sister's room for a couple of hours and managed to make it out there injury-free.
"Me and Carina just had a little chat," Emma admitted.
Truth be told, Carina was elated for both her and James. The newest addition to the family she was looking forward to would be the carrington heir, and not to mention, she'd have a niece and or nephew soon.
Just by the look on her face, she knew that. Even if she had suggested such a horrible idea of booking an appointment to erase what she wanted them to think was a mistake. She was just as excited as they were.
James asked in surprise, "Without attempting to murder each other? Color me shocked."
"If you thought that, why didn't you come to rescue me?" Emma asked, batting her eyelashes.
