Connor cleared his throat, as if trying to make himself seem less embarrassed.
Emma came to the not-too-shocking revelation that they were definitely in-the-middle of something when she had intruded their conversation.
She apologized once more, at the same time reasoning with the two, specifically Connor, "Sorry for the intrusion, but I really am worried, and shouldn't you be in attendance of your father's abdication, Connor?"
Connor looked at his watch, which was one of the priceless pieces his father had given him. The same man who'd be abdicating, renouncing his throne, and inevitably announcing James as his heir.
