Chapter 137 - A Great Suggestion

"If you want to get experience, you can easily do so by defeating all the monsters around here. Why go through all the trouble to join the military?" Alex asked, not understanding why Rem chose to join the military.

He couldn't care less about what Samael did.

"Joining the military would allow me to improve my communicating skills. Since we're going to be fighting well-trained demons, I'll get more experience than by defeating the monsters around here. I actually didn't really go through any trouble in joining the military. General Ross offered a high position in the military herself." Rem revealed.

"I can understand why you're joining. It can't be helped, huh?" Chloe said after finishing her egg toast.

Everyone else finished their breakfast already.

"May I speak with Rem privately?" Samael asked, chiming in.

He hadn't spoken a word during breakfast until now.

"You guys can go out and explore Leroy City today." Rem suggested, directing this to Alex, Izel, and Chloe.

"Sure. I was thinking about spending all day exploring today." Chloe answered.

"Izel will go where Chloe wants to go," Izel spoke.

"Urgh, fine. I'll come along as well." Alex decided.

He didn't want to interrupt Rem and Samael talking even though he doesn't trust Samael yet.

"Be careful and don't get into any trouble, okay?" Rem sounded like a mother speaking with her children.

"Got it!" Alex said loudly as he put both of his hands behind his head casually.

Chloe glanced at Rem and gave her a small smile and thumbs-up, indicating that she would take care of the troublesome Alex while Izel only nodded.

"Alright, let's go back to our room to chat." Rem said after the three left.

"Yes, I would like to speak with you in a place where there isn't anyone around." Samael agreed.

He followed Rem to the room. When they were inside, Samael was the first to speak.

"I know you went outside last night," Samael confessed.

'I didn't sense anything wrong last night. I thought they were all asleep... His acting skills aren't bad.'

"So what?"

Rem raised one of her brows.

"I followed you and saw how you annihilated a whole skeleton army by yourself with one attack of yours," Samael added.

'He what...? Ah, he was indeed in front of the door before I came back...' Rem remembered.

"How did you follow and see me?"

"Perhaps it's because I'm a half-werewolf, but I believe I have extraordinary speed, hearing, smell, vision, and I can see well in the dark."

'He admitted that he's a half-werewolf that easily??? Is he dumb or what...? How can he just trust someone he met for not even a day?' Rem wondered, observing the 'older' boy in front of her carefully.

'Eh? How come I didn't sense his presence then...?'

{Werewolves, no matter a half-werewolf or not, their sneakiness is one of the best in the world. With your abilities, you can detect him if you tried hard enough, but you were too busy thinking about the army of monsters.}

'Makes sense. Wait... Don't tell me he saw me speak with that necromancer!'

「I would have detected my kind nearby if he was following you, Master. I couldn't sense him at all.」

'Well, that complicates things.'

"What did you do after you saw me?" Rem finally asked, breaking the silence.

"I went back," Samael claimed.

'No, he's lying.' Rem noticed thanks to her hidden ability, the 'Eye Of Truth.'

"I see..." Rem mumbled.

"That wasn't what I wanted to talk to you about though."

"Then, what is it?"

"I saw how powerful you were last night. I was wondering... Can you create your own army?"

'Create my own army...? I certainly thought of that a long time ago. The last time I checked, I didn't have enough mana. I'm way stronger and have more mana now. Creating an army... It won't hurt to try, right?'

"You're right. I can try." Rem spoke.

"Do you have any suggestions about what kind of army I should make?" Rem asked Samael.

She wasn't sure of what she should create.

"Anything but a human or beastman army. Is it possible for you to create an army out of strong monsters?"

"Like?"

"Dragons, phoenixes, or maybe the Demon Ki—"

"Stop right there. Thanks for the suggestions, but I think I'm good. Thanks for telling me this. I'll make sure to make use of it. Nothing is free no matter what would you are in, so what do you want?"

Samael smiled.

"I simply want to join the military. If possible, I want to join the base you're going to be in."

"As I said before, I will try."

'Cynric, are you fine with staying with Samael for the time being? If you stay with your kind, you might get your memories back.'

「Yes, I'm fine. I'll do whatever Master asks for me to do.」

'Hm, okay. Stay with Samael for the time being.' Rem ordered.

Rem took the necklace with the small blade on it out of her pocket.

"Here, Samael. Take this." Rem threw Cynric towards Samael.

Samael easily caught the small thing and stared at Rem in a daze. He doesn't understand why Rem threw him this.

"Take good care of it. I'll be leaving now, bye." Rem gave Samael a quick wave.

Then, she jumped out of the window.

'The dumpster is large, and there weren't many people the last time I checked. I know the perfect creations to be in my army! Since the shadow is my main and strongest element, I'll use that to create my army.' Rem decided.

She memoried where the dumpster was after just going there once. As all of you know, Rem's memory is great and almost inhumane.

(A/N: Get it? Rem isn't a human! XD)
