"I can revive anyone you want. From humans to even demons. Their personality and memories will stay the same as well." Maya claimed.
'She's not lying...'
"In exchange for me reviving whoever you want, I would like you to do me a favor when I ask you to," Maya said carefully.
"I don't even know what you're going to tell me to do. For now, I don't have anyone I want to revive. Too bad because I'll have to decline your offer." Rem responded nonchalantly.
"I understand. Please keep in mind that this offer will be available at any time. If you happen to change your mind, visit me at Death Valley." Maya gave Rem a small smile.
Rem said nothing as Maya left. Before she knew it, Maya was already out of her sight.
Rem flew back to Leroy City where she meets Nor who was hiding in the shadows. Nobody noticed his presence except for Rem.
Rem walked to a dark alleyway. Before she could say anything, Nor showed himself in front of Rem.
"Good almost morning, Icy!" Nor greeted Rem happily with a smile on his face.
"This is the first time you showed up without me telling you to do so." Rem stated.
She has a few questions for Nor.
"How mean... Not even a greeting? We haven't seen each other in a long time, you know?" Nor pouted.
"Hello... Happy now...? Geez, what are you here for?" Rem asked, getting straight to the point again.
"You've changed, Icy. Hm... Maybe I should change that nickname. You're not that icy anymore. Well, you're still as cold as ever though. It's just... You're slightly melting bit by bit." Nor exclaimed while rubbing his chin like a detective who's deep in thought.
'Me, changed? That can't be. I'm the same as usual.' Rem thought, not seeing how she changed at all.
"Stop spouting nonsense. What is it?" Rem raised one of her brows.
"I was just here to greet you, okay? Why wouldn't I greet a friend I happened to meet???" Nor asked as he kept his smiling face.
"Stop with the act. We're not friends. If you don't have anything important to say, I'll be leaving first." Rem said coldly.
She slowly walked towards the inn.
"Meanie...! I was really just saying hello, but if you want to know, I'll tell you that I'm going to say in Leroy City with Helena for some time." Nor announced.
"What are you staying in this city for and who's Helena?" Rem questioned.
She stopped walking and turned around to face Nor.
Rem didn't care about Nor's personal life. However, she felt like she needed to know the reason why Nor was here. If he was here, it would mean that he's doing some kind of work.
"We're staying in Leroy City because I have a business to do here. Do you know how Arka City and Orthio City are both taken over? I'm sure you do. Let's see... How do I tell you this...? I can't tell you in detail...! So, uh... There's going to be a war soon. We're here to prepare for the war and form alliances with other Cities and Kingdoms." Nor explained.
'I should get stronger quickly.'
"And also, Helena's the girl who saved your friends. I believe they were twins named Yukino and Yukio." Nor added.
'Oh... It's that lady. I should thank her properly the next time I meet her.' Rem decided.
"May I ask you a few questions?"
"Anything for a friend like you, Icy!" Nor replied joyfully.
Rem's face remained unchanged despite her cringing on the inside.
"Do you have any news about how the principal of Starim Academy and Kaito is doing?" Rem asked.
This has been in her mind for ages.
"Mrs. Caden is being imprisoned and watched by the demons. We'll try to save her and get her out of there as soon as we can. Unfortunately, we can't save her just yet." Nor began.
'Maybe I should sneak into Arka City and save the principal.'
{What a reckless thought they had there.}
'I know, I have to get stronger.'
"As for Kaito Caden, I don't know what he's doing. I did hear the news about him leaving Orthio City before it was attacked with the First and Third Princes of Arka City." Nor continued, answering Rem's question fully.
"Kaito left with only the First and Second Princes of Arka City?" Rem stared at Nor.
She was clearly confused and shocked by what she heard.
"Yes. At least that's what I was told." Nor answered Rem.
"What about the others?"
Rem wanted to know how Karina, Yukino, Yukio, and Oliver were doing too.
*Brrrrr!!!
The sound of vibrating could be heard.
Rem glanced at Nor's left pocket.
"Ah... Sorry, I have to go now." Nor apologized.
"I see... Thanks for telling me." Rem said aloud.
Nor gave Rem a surprised Pikachu face. He never thought there would be a day when Rem would personally thank him.
"A-Am I dreaming...?" Nor pinched his cheek.
"Ow!" Nor yelped.
"What are you doing?"
Rem gave Nor a 'are you crazy??!' look.
"Sorry, not sorry. I was simply surprised that you thanked me. I'm so happy!!!" Nor smiled brightly.
"Shoot! I really, really, really have to go now. I can't be late!"
"Wait, you didn't ans—"
Nor disappeared into the shadows in a hurry without hearing the rest of Rem's sentence.
'I suppose my question will remain unanswered. Aye, what a mess.' Rem thought, sighing.
She walked towards the inn, only to be stopped by the General. The same General who saw Rem annihilate the army of skeletons.
"May I have a moment of your time?" The General asked, stopping in front of Rem.
This caused Rem to stop in her tracks.
'What does she want???' Rem wondered, beginning to get tired of all the talking.
"Have you perhaps seen a woman with long, dark purple hair and dark purple eyes? She's a very dangerous criminal who's on the loose." The General stated, waiting for Rem's reply.
'Oh, right. She's the woman who spoke to me in that scam incident.' Rem remembered.
'I made a deal with that necromancer, so I shall keep my promise.'
"No, I've never seen someone with dark purple hair, much less, dark purple eyes before." Rem lied.
"That can't be helped, huh? Anyways... I was wondering if you're willing to join the military." The General said.
'What's this all of a sudden???'
"Why should I join?" Rem asked, uncertain as to why the General would ask her that.
"Please hear me out."
'I should get back to the inn before they wake up and notice that I'm gone. It's almost morning...!'
"I don't know you. Why should I hear you out?"
Rem didn't feel like dealing with something troublesome. After all, so much has happened these days.
"Apologies for my rudeness. My name is Judy Ross. People usually call me General Ross." General Ross bowed slightly.
"I vow to give you a higher position in the military." She claimed, standing up straight.
'I believe she was there when I got rid of the skeletons. I didn't think anyone would see my face... Should I join? There's going to be a war soon. Would it be a good idea to be in the military and help out? Perhaps I can help end the war. While being in the military, I might as well gain some experience. There's going to be a lot of killing and that would give me plenty of exp. Getting a higher position in the military doesn't sound too bad either.'
"Are there any requirements in order for me to join?" Rem asked, making a conclusion.
"Not particularly." General Ross answered.
She looked at Rem with hopeful eyes.
"I'll join." Rem finally responded after a long pause.
"Thank you! I won't disappoint you. May I know what your name is?"
"Rem."
"Noted. I'll make sure the preparations are completed by the end of today. Miss Rem, you can depart tomorrow morning. A knight will guide you to our base."
"Understood, General Ross."
Rem saluted at the General. The General saluted back and they both departed to where they were going to go.
Rem looked up, seeing the sunrise a tiny bit. It was still dark, but the sun was about to rise. This indicates that it's early in the morning.
'Who would have thought I would spend so long talking? I'll have to think of a way to take care of Alex, Izel, Chloe, and Samael.' Rem thought as she walked toward the inn without any signs of being in a hurry.
