"Reporting!" A man in black and red clothing walked in, kneeling in front of the Demon King.
"Speak."
"My Lord, everything's going fine except for the death of two low-ranked demons." A man in black and red clothing reported.
"How did two demons suddenly die?"
"I'm not too sure. If I could guess who it was, it might have been one of the humans. The same human who managed to destroy a few of our bases...!" The man said angrily.
"Oh? Who was that human you are speaking of?"
"We don't know yet but after we catch that person, we'll make that person regret what they did."
"You better not let that human ruin our plans." The Demon King said in a menacing tone, staring at the human below him with his piercing eyes.
"Of course. We'll try our best to find that person."
"Good. I sent 50 low demons and now there are only 48. How many of your humans are there again?"
"There are around 1,000 of them. We have one leader, 10 high-ranked people, around 100 strong ones, and the rest are all low ranked."
"Hm... Alright then. Tell your leader I need more. More power! I'll send a few high-ranked demons to help you. You know what to, don't you?"
"Yes, I'll immediately report back to our leader. As you ordered before, we already sent one of our strongest there to help you and we also sent 100 others to kill all the people in the city. They're on their way to the city."
"Good, good. I need a lot more power. I don't care what you humans are working on. As long as you help me, I'll help you in return. Remember that. Now, you may leave." The Demon King waved his hand, sending the man away.
Meanwhile...
"Please, I want to leave."
"Me too..."
"I don't want to be here anymore!"
"What are you guys doing??! We're knights of this Kingdom! Get back out there and fight!!!" One of the commanders yelled, pointing at the exit of the city.
"Why should we risk our lives?"
"Yeah! Why should we? This city is doomed anyway. We might as well get out of here while we still can!!!"
"Everyone, stop." The prince said.
Everyone went quiet, looking at the prince.
"Greetings to the prince and Commander!" The Commander made his hands into a fist and put his right hand on his chest.
"We are Knights. We're not asking you to die. We're asking you to protect everyone in this city! Even if we can't protect it, at least make it so some people can leave safely! We need you! What do you think you've been a knight for? For show? No! For the people in this city, we shall do our best!!!" The prince yelled.
"PROTECT! PROTECT! PROTECT!" All the knights began to chant.
"Now get out there and kill these monsters!" The prince said, pointing his sword at the monsters that could be seen near the city.
"YES, SIR!" The knights said altogether, charging at the monsters.
"Good job, prince. You sure are quick to act." Fania said.
"Yes, of course. I don't know how long we'll last but I'll try my best."
...
"The monsters are already here. I don't think the barrier will last that long either. I'll help so the barrier won't shatter. We already gave all the teleportation scrolls to all the nobles... We don't have enough to make more. One low-ranked teleportation scroll can only one person while the medium ranked ones can fit three people and the higher ranked ones can fit five or more people. For those who didn't get any scrolls, they would have no choice but to use some other transportation to get out of this city." The principal said, using her magic to keep the barrier intact.
"There are magic vehicles but only the nobles have these. What should we do about the others?" Kaito asked.
"They would have to leave this city by walking." The principal replied.
"There are monsters! They would die if they do that!"
"I can't do anything about that. All I can do is keep this barrier and try to bring us more time to escape." The principal stated.
"But—"
"Go back to your friends. I've saved these medium-ranked teleportation scrolls. Here. Use these. Now go." The principal ordered, tossing two teleportation scrolls to Kaito.
"What about you?"
"I'll stay here and keep the barrier up. Go, quickly." The principal demanded, looking pale.
"Okay... Don't die!" Kaito yelled, running towards where his friends were.
"Haha... That stupid son of mine. I won't die that easily, you know?" The principal muttered.
