Chapter 87 - Meeting The Royals

When Rem arrived at the blacksmith shop, the shop was already half destroyed.

"Is anyone here?" Rem asked.

No answer.

'I guess they're either at somewhere safe or they're dead. Good thing I marked the blacksmith on my map. At least he's not dead. Seems like he's at the church...' Rem hurried to the church.

The church was in the West of the city. Rem got there in a few minutes. On her way to the church, she killed every monster that was in her way.

'The church is huge!'

Many knights were guarding the church. Just as Rem was about to enter the church, one of the knights stopped her.

"Stop right there. State your name and what's you're purpose for being here." The knight said sternly.

"Name's Rem. I'm here to visit an acquaintance and a friend who is helping out here."

"You may enter." The knight let Rem enter.

Rem walked into the church.

'Why are these places so large? I'm so glad I have a map...'

Rem was never good at directions.

'Oh, there's Yukino!' Rem walked to Yukino.

Yukino was busy healing a woman whose shoulder was bleeding. Rem waited for a few minutes since she didn't want to interrupt her. When she saw Yukino walk away from the patient, Rem decided to greet Yukino.

"Good afternoon." Rem waved at Yukino.

Yukino saw Rem and smiled.

"Good afternoon. Where were you? Everyone was worried sick. Especially Rina." Yukino stated.

"I was just... You know, I had some personal matters to take care of." Rem replied.

Rem could see the black bags under Yukino's eyes.

"Are you doing alright? You seem extremely tired. More tired than Karina..." Rem sounded worried.

"Yes, I'm tired. I've been healing nonstop all day..." Yukino sighed.

"Let me help. You go rest." Rem suggested.

"You need to get permission from one of the priests first. I'll bring you to him." Yukino walked towards one of the priests.

"Hello. My friend here wants to help out." Yukino said to the priest.

"Oh, it's you! We're so thankful for you. You were a great help these past two days. Thank you. If your friend wants to help out, she needs to show us what she can do." The priest said, looking at Rem.

"Alright. I just have to heal everyone who's hurt, right?"

"Well, not necessarily every-"

Before the priest could finish speaking, Rem already used her wind magic and healed everyone in the room.

"I'm healed! I'm healed!"

"This is a miracle!"

"Thank you! Thank you!!!"

"What did you just..." The priest was shocked.

"I healed everyone here. Can Yuki rest now? She needs rest."

"Yes, of course. Perhaps... Do you want to become a priest?" The priest asked.

"No thank you. Goodbye." Rem left the church with Yukino.

"Wow... I never knew you have three elements. You can use shadow, fire, and wind!" Yukino was surprised.

Having two elements is already extremely rare. Every 100,000 people, there will be someone who will be born with two elements. Having two elements is a huge blessing. Rem, however, has three elements. Technically, it's four. She can use shadow, wind, fire from Roy, and ice, a new element.

"Keep this a secret that I can use three elements... Okay?"

"I know, I know. I promise I won't tell anyone!" Yukino promised.

"Oh, right. Do you know a blacksmith?"

"Hm... I think he's on the second floor of the church."

"Thanks. You can go back to your dorm room and rest. I need to get something done. Be careful and bye!" Rem ran back to the church.

Before entering the church, Rem used her disguise and transformation skills to look like a boy. When the knights saw Rem, they didn't do anything. They let Rem in. Rem ran to the second floor in a hurry.

"Blacksmith man!" Rem stopped in front of the blacksmith.

'Why is he crying..? Oh...' Rem saw a familiar woman lying on the floor, injured severely.

The woman had cuts and scratches everywhere. The most severe injury was right next to her stomach.

'So his wife was in this state... She was stabbed.'

"The doctors and priests said it's impossible to heal her..."

Rem put her hand over the stab injury.

In a few minutes, the injury was healed.

"I healed her injury but you need to take good care of her because I can't do anything about her blood loss." Rem said.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!!! I'm forever indebted to you..." The man sniffed.

"It's fine. Did you finish with the weapons yet?"

"Of course! I've hidden them in the basement of my shop. My name is David. May I ask what your name is?"

"Rem."

"Sir Rem. Please follow me. I'll give you the weapons. I finished them a little earlier than I had thought."

"Shouldn't you be taking care of your wife?"

"The knights will protect her, hopefully."

"Alright, lead the way."

David lead Rem to the basement of his half-wrecked blacksmith shop.

"Here they are." David handed the completed weapons to Rem.

"You don't have to pay," David said.

"Why?"

"I'm indebted to you. This is nothing. You, giving me the chance to work with these precious gems and weapons are already great." David explained.

"What do you plan on doing now? Your shop is destroyed and it's not safe here."

"We're thinking about leaving to another city. We hadn't thought of which city to go to yet."

"I see... Thank you for this. I'll walk you back to the church. It's not safe here." Rem suggested, walking David back to the church.

"Thank you, young man. I really appreciate it." David smiled.

"Thank you to you too."

...

After guiding David back to the church, a boy who looked around Rem's age wearing white and blue medieval clothes with golden accessories walked towards Rem.

The clothes he wore looked like ones nobles would wear.

"My name is Leonardo. It's a pleasure to meet you." The boy bowed.

"What business do you have with me?" Rem asked, trying not to sound annoyed.

Rem never liked strangers who talk to her without a good reason.

"That's the first time someone had talked to me like that..." Leonard smirked.

"I saw you heal everyone on the first floor easily and you even saved this woman over there. Your healing powers are extraordinary." Leonard said, smiling.

"Why are you talking to me?"

"I just wanted to waste your time," Leonard admitted.

"Go bother someone else." Rem tried exiting the church but a few knights stopped her.

"I would like for you to answer a few of my questions." A man's voice said.

"Commander! What should we do with him?" A knight asked.

"First, there was a report of a boy and girl killing every monster in sight. Now, there's a boy who has powerful healing abilities..." The Commander sighed.

"Who are you?" The Commander asked.

"Rem."

"I'm not asking for your name. I'm asking for where you came from and what your purpose is." The Commander said seriously.

Rem could sense the lie detector in the Commander's pocket.

"I don't know where I'm from. My purpose here is to visit an acquaintance of mine."

The Commander saw the lie detector turn green.

"Elder brother. Stop bothering my friend already!" Leonard pouted.

"Your attitude is the same as always." The Commander stated.

"Greetings to the First Prince and the Third Prince. Third Prince, we have to go." A knight bowed.

'First Prince? Third Prince?'

"Wait, let me bring him." Leonard looked at Rem.

"I apologize but you cannot do that."

"What did I say about calling me a prince outside of the palace?" Leonard glared at the knight.

"I apologize. I'll be more careful from now on."

"I'm bringing him. You have no right to order me around."

"But this is the King's orders..."

"You mean that trashy King? Who cares? Rem, let's go!" Leonard pulled Rem towards the direction of the royal palace.

"Leonard. Don't act like a child. You're fourteen. Act like one." The Commander scolded.

"Elder brother!!! Give me a break..." Leonard complained.

"When did I ever say I would follow you?" Rem asked.

'Getting involved with nobles is troublesome.' Rem thought.

"Oh, come on! Don't be like that!!! Aren't you the one who won the tournament in the Arena? This is a good chance for you to ask what you want from the King."

"Fine." Rem followed Leonard to the palace.

The Commander sighed again, shaking his head.
