"Caution: Please stay still; Your seat is being raised." Dana warned. The chair slowly started rising towards the roof. However, the control panels did not move up. After reaching a certain height, the chair stopped moving.
"The seat has been risen." Dana announced. Daniel sat up. Now he could see in space behind the ship.
Daniel's heart was throbbing with wonder and glee. His eyes sparkled and you could see his teeth as he smiled. He looked like a child who was about to get its most favorite toy. After a few moments it became visible as a dot and it was briskly coming closer.
Comet was coming at a speed at least 100 times faster than Dana. However, it was very far away so It would take five minutes to reach them and same amount of time to cross them and disappear on the other side.
Daniel looked at it with his jaw dropped. It looked beautiful. The whole sky gleamed with colors and light. I was getting bigger and bigger. It became thrice the size of Mercury in their solar system, as it reached above Dana.
The comet was going away and then Daniel saw the most amazing scene. Another comet of the same size was approaching from the other side. Daniel sat motionless with amazement. He was not even blinking.
Both comets were approaching each other. He had never seen the sky illuminated this much.
"The comets are going to collapse. I am going to witness the biggest collision in my entire life." He thought.
"Collision?" He murmured.
"Dana! Quickly calculate the explosive strength resulting from the collision of these two comets and check if we will be able to survive the collision." Daniel shouted. He had come out of trance.
"Only one comet detected." Dana informed.
"What? Are you insane?" Daniel screamed and looked at both the comets. They were about to collide in less than a minute.
"I can see them. Check again." Daniel ordered.
"I have thoroughly checked. Only one comet detected. Please check the radar image." Dana affirmed. Screen illuminated on his back. There was really one comet moving away. Nothing was coming from that side.
He looked at the comets again. They were as real as he was. He would look at radar for one moment and then look at comets again. He was flabbergasted. Now his jaw dropped for an entirely different reason. He could not think of one reason that would explain why the other comet was invisible on radar.
"Have the events of past few months damaged the system. I will thoroughly check everything after I am done here. There must be a problem with radar imaging system." He thought.
He was now staring at comets. They were getting closer every passing moment. They were about to collide.
"Dana! Are we recording the event?" Daniel asked.
"Yes sir." Dana affirmed
"Nice." Daniel responded.
"Five seconds." Daniel thought.
"Four seconds." Daniel whispered.
"Three Seconds." His heart was racing.
"Two Seconds." He was about to witness a collision that could kill them.
"One second." Daniel skipped a heartbeat.
And the comets crashed.
But nothing happened. The comet from this side and that side vanished into each other. It looked like both comets devoured each other.
"What the hell is happening? Nothing is making sense today." Daniel murmured. He was confused and lost.
He then glanced at the radar imaging and was even more astonished. The radar was still showing comet. It was there but he could not see it. All his knowledge was proving to be useless in explaining today's events.
"First, freely moving bodies appeared out of nowhere. Then they launched projectiles and their projectiles disappeared into thin air. After that two same and most unusual comets appeared from opposite directions, devoured each other, and vanished into thin air. Lastly, the radar that could not detect one of the two comets can now detect invisible comet." His head felt like it was spinning. He sat there for a few minutes.
"Dana! Lower the seat and run the recording of comet on right side." Daniel was being impatient. A thought struck him like the lightning.
"Caution: the seat is being lowered. Please hold still." The screen on the right switched and played the recording.
"Play last 1 minute of video." Daniel commanded.
He was looking at screen with full attention.
"Seat has been lowered." Dana announced.
Daniel did not pay attention to it. The camera recorded everything as he saw them. The cameras were placed at the strategically calculated points to cover all the possible angles. The recording of the camera was not as clear as his view from inside the room. However, it was clear enough to prove that he was not hallucinating.
Now, He was at the part where comets collide. He saw both comets disappearing into each other. He re-winded the video back to 10 seconds and watched again. This time he paused the video at the point where the comets become one while disappearing. He zoomed in and looked closely.
He could not move for a second. He got out of his chair and ran to the front window. His heart was pounding. He thought he had witnessed his life's most fearful event when he was about to get sucked in by a Black Hole. But he had just been proven wrong. He was now witnessing the most fearsome event of his life.
He had figured out all the mysteries of the day. He had figured out WHY those events happened. He still needed to figure out HOW part of the mystery.
The point where all the projectiles vanished and the point where both comets vanished into each other were on different positions in space. One happened below dana while the other way up in space. They happened on different positions in space but on the same plane in space.
