Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

18th December 2050

There was razzle-dazzle of reporters, journalists, Anchors, Columnists, media coverage personnel and cameramen from different Print media, Digital Media, and Social Media Channels from across the world, in the Media and Communications hall of Saans Technologies. They were here to cover the press conference of Founder and CEO of Saans Technologies. Just yesterday, He had announced that the Saans Technologies would colonize Two Billion people in space within the span of next Fifty years, before earth would explode.

He named this Colonization Program as "Peoples' Association". He had further added that for the program, all the people will be selected from Third World countries that would have no alliance with the Permanent Members of the United Nations. He had invited craftsmen, scientists, researchers, and space enthusiasts from all walks of life and from throughout the world to become the founding members of the program.

No, Countries or Governments had not announced any sort of plans yet. The Governments were asking their people to stay calm and to carry on their lives until they figure out the details of upcoming disaster. The news of "Peoples' Association" spread like a wildfire across the world. There were all sorts of reactions to the news; some called it fake; some called it humane; some called it revolutionary and visionary; some called it a pathway to limelight and others viewed it as a Crazy Dream of the rich.

Whether one loved it or hated it but for sure no one could ignore it. After receiving such reaction, Saans Technologies invited all the media from all the world to attend this special press conference with CEO of Saans Technologies.

The Conference hall was designed to host a gathering of 1000 personnel. At the front there was a stage on which a large conference table was placed in the center. Table had Ten Mics set on it and Ten chairs lied behind it. A podium was placed at the right corner of the stage. Name and Logo of Saans Technologies were displayed on the screen behind the table.

Ten rows of desks were placed in front of stage, leaving space for Cameramen. Each row of had one hundred desks. Each desk had a Mic on it, an electricity port to connect chargeable devices and a wire to connect to the LAN of Saans Technologies. There was enough space between desks that attendees could walk freely and there was also a wide walkway that separated five rows from the other five.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Lisa R Eastwood was standing in front of stage with her Cameraman and her Assistant. She was checking the Mic and Camera performance. The live connection to her Channel had already been secured. This was an extremely important press conference, and she did not want any mistakes. She gave her assistant a few instructions and moved towards her designated seat. Her laptop, and Media kit from Saans Communications were lying on the table.

Lisa was the Senior Journalist for the biggest media group in the world. She was Anchor and Producer of a primetime Television program. She wrote a monthly column on current issues for a Journal that was also published electronically. She had a huge following on all social media platforms. She was superstar of the time. A prestigious lifestyle magazine touted her among the ten most powerful people in the world and the most powerful woman in the world in 2050.

She had earned this title through a career spanning over twenty years. Lisa was famous for being cold and smart, hard-hitting reports, honest portrayal of news and events, recognizing the opportunity when offered, locking horns with the system, and not giving in to the wealth of the worlds. She was an influencer on social media and a potential lobbyist and propagandist in the world of politics and business. She was respected and feared by her colleagues, politicians, Government Officials and Businessmen.

Lisa was in her late 40s, but she looked like she was in her late thirties. She was average in height and red headed. Her facial features suggested that she was Hispanic. Her mother came from Spain with her parents around 50 years ago. Her mother then married a British-American guy, and she was born. Lisa had one sister: her only family in this world. She loved her sister to death. Her parents died ten years ago in a plane crash. Lisa was still unmarried. However, she was dating a successful businessman.

Today Lisa wore Blue bodycon dress with high heels. In that dress she looked like a model rather than a journalist. It looked like she was determined to one up the winters. As she walked towards her seat, she saw a man with grey hair coming towards her. All of a sudden, expression on Lisa's face switched. It seemed like she had swallowed something distasteful.

"What the hell is this creep doing here?" Lisa thought.

"Here is our superstar. I can't say I am surprised to see you here." He was smiling from ear to ear while trying to looked into her low-neck dress. Lisa felt a little uncomfortable. She has been meeting such creeps for twenty years now on daily basis, but she still couldn't get used to them.

"Hey! Steep! How are you doing?" Lisa smiled pretentiously and intentionally misspelled his name.

"Hahahahahahaha. You are as funny as ever." He laughed it off. Lisa tried to move but he continued.

"So? What do you think? Are they telling the truth? Is world really dying?" He was smiling.

"My job is not to judge or make decisions. My job is to deliver my audience, what I am told, as it is." She was annoyed. But he did budge. He was nodding hi head.

Hey! I don't think I need to say this, but I cannot stress enough on how beautiful you look today." He came a bit closer and said in the sexiest voice he could ever generate. His eyes still on her bosom.
