Chapter 30 - XX

The sun came up as the birds sing over the horizon. The vast space where the ocean can be seen is such a magnificent sight. The creatures that roam the island are having a great time. The warriors start preparing for another day of training.

Laryo and Uran are at the far end of the island where a big waterfall is located. Stephen trains with the other Angel Gods. Triton learns how to control his transformation as time passed by. Alviary is still nowhere to be seen. And as for the Queen, she has trying to forget the face of the former King of Voyagerinda.

She sighs for the umpteenth time before starts pacing around her room. She was wearing nothing but a simple dress and her hair hasn't been combed. She has been stressed out ever since that faithful day. She can't get Alviary out of her head and it's taking a toll on her more.

She had become frustrated that it affects her leadership as days passed. The other Angel Gods can see her frustration over the past few weeks and wanted to do something about it but what they can do? They don't know Alviary personally.

So, when Chione suggests to Stephen to ask Alviary if he could show up just this once, Stephen didn't hesitate to help them. He went to the far end of the island by the big waterfall and gather all of his strength that Alviary gave him and calls for the Eastern Forest King.

"Alviary."

A large smoke of clouds forms right above the waterfall. Blonde hair and striking green eyes came into view. Alviary looks different from before but he still looks ethereal as ever. "Hey, kid." He greets in his unusually deep voice. Stephen has heard his voice before and he never notices that it was this deep.

"Alviary?" Stephen asks as he stared at the living god in front of him. He looks like Alviary but he doesn't sound like him. Stephen suddenly becomes nervous than he is before he met Alviary.

The living God just smiles and steps out of the large cloud that surrounds his body. He was wearing a chiffon dress that looks like exactly the gods that were told in Greek mythology.

What the boy didn't notice is the growing wings behind him as the clouds disperse into the horizon. "I am back, kid," Alviary said as he smiles brightly at Stephen. The latter haven't seen him smile before but it was nice seeing him smile for the first time.

Stephen felt tears in his eyes as he watches Alviary smile and walks towards him. "Welcome back, King Aeolus," Stephen suddenly blurted out. Alviary stops in his tracks and Stephen covers his mouth.

"I-I am so sorry. I-I didn't mean to call you t-that n-name," Stephen stutters and covers his face who is now as red as a tomato. Alviary laughs as he watches the kid trying to hide his embarrassment.

"No one had called me by that time for such a long time. You never cease to surprise me, kid," Alviary said as he laughs even more. His laughter rings loudly throughout the island, alarming the other Angel Gods and even the Queen herself.

As a precaution, they went to the place where the laughter is being heard, and what they saw shocked them all, including Laryo, Triton, and Uran.

"Is that Alviary?" Uran asks as he stares at the living God who is having the best time in his life as he teases Stephen even more. "Is that his true form?" Laryo asks as he stares blankly at Alviary who is now looking at them. His striking green eyes stare wildly at them and when he smiles, the Queen suddenly runs to him.

"My King!" she exclaims as she threw herself to Alviary, who catches her in his both arms, as they stumble to the ground. The queen cries her heart out and Alviary tightens the hug. "I miss you so much, my King," the Queen wails as she hugs him. Suddenly, she felt something soft and silky behind him. She gasps when she saw his wings.

"Your wings! They are back!" she exclaimed in excitement. Alviary looks behind him as he watches his wings spread showing his glistening wooden-green-colored wings.

He watches them with amazement. He misses his wings so much. The last time he saw them was when he got captured by Siyenthera who constantly tortured him before cutting his wings. At the time of his death, he wishes for his wings to be part of the forest, creating a protection field that surrounds the whole forest.

In return for his death, he was appointed as the Forest King of the East. As for his name, it came from the people who believe that he exists. In Abyasi's language, Alviary means "the hidden hero", giving him that name as they recall his heroic acts.

Stephen gasps when he saw Alviary's wings. They looked so magnificent. The wooden color of his wings came from the roots that sprouts towards the lining of his wings, the green color spreads towards the tip of every feather in his wings, and the base color of his wings is a beautiful blue color that compliments the color of his hair.

It was a truly magnificent sight to witness. "Wow," Stephen softly mutters, earning a chuckle from Alviary. "You know, you can also have one if you wanted to," he said as Stephen looks at him in disbelief.

"You're kidding. Humans like me can't have wings," Stephen retorts. The Queen looks at him then looks at Alviary, she notices the confidence in Alviary's eyes as he offers Stephen the choice to fly. "Says who?" Alviary asks giving Stephen a very challenging look.

Stephen looks at him, not knowing what he shall do. Because he had been reading scientific artifacts saying that humans don't have the right genetic material that could create wings, therefore, they can't fly.

"I am asking you, kid. Who told you humans can't grow wings?" Alviary asks one more time, a little bit stern this time. Stephen's mouth gaped like a dying fish, asking for water, as he stares at Alviary's eyes. Alviary sighs before looking at him again.

"It isn't easy, though. You need to learn the proper techniques of producing such things," Alviary said as he looks around. "This place can be a training ground for you to train. Your combat training is already enough for you to survive the war but these wings will help you gain more power," Alviary said as he exhales a heavy sigh.

"You don't mean that, humans can't fly, science already prove that," Stephen said emphasizing every word. "That's why I ask who said that?" Alviary said emphasizing his words also. "According to Science, humans can't have wings.

They can't fly and whatever you are saying right now is merely impossible," Stephen said trying to calm himself before he raises his voice to the living God.

"If you are a human, it will be truly impossible," Alviary said calmly as he watches Stephen realizing something he should've realized the moment he called the white wolf. "Do you still think that you are human, kid?" Alviary asks the kid as if asking him for a challenge. He lets go of the Queen and went to Stephen.

"Why do you think you can call the white wolf? How do you think you can communicate with him telepathically? Why do you think you can see Uran. Laryo and Triton when others can't? Why do you think you can enter this island if you are a human?" Alviary said spouting every word with a hint of revelation that Stephen might not be a human. A revelation that was hidden even before his grandmother dies.

A revelation that his parents secretly hide it from the boy before they went away leaving the poor kid with no explanation as to what is happening to his life. "No one can see us, Stephen. Humans can't see us, we are just a part of their creative imagination. No one knows we exist, just you," Alviary said as he held Stephen's shoulder shaking it a bit, making him realize what could he be.

"Stephen, you are not a human. You are one of us. You are elemental." Alviary reveals to Stephen, earning a few gasps from other Angel Gods present on the scene.
