Chapter 13 - III

Biringan. A known urban legend amongst the people from the Philippines. According to the legend, the residents are wealthy and powerful.

They even have a voted president and the locals are friendly.

But the people that surround the area are all afraid of going inside the city because according to them, the residents living in that place are encantos or faes just like the white wolf.

What is more mysterious is that Biringan is nowhere to be found. The geographical area of the place does not exist.

There is no picture of the said place just like common folklore amongst the elders in that area.

So, when the boy heard what the wolf said he ended up laughing. The wolf looked at him with dead eyes and smirks, "You think the place does not exist?" the wolf asks.

The boy stops laughing and nods.

"Then, why would you believe that I exist?" the wolf asks. "I don't," the boy replies. "I know that this is just a dream and you don't exist," he added.

The wolf smiles and suggests for him to go to sleep. He agrees with the wolf and went back to sleep.

The wolf smirks as he watches the boy went on to slumber.

As he watches the boy as he sleeps, he noticed that bad spirits normally goes to the boy not because the wolf is there but because the boy is too open for the bad spirits to possess.

He uses his other form to scare off bad spirits because he no longer has the strength to kill them.

As the dawn passes and as the sun rises as well as the neighbor's chickens roar, the boy's alarm rings filling up the room.

A drowsy hand would have stopped it when it suddenly stopped on his own.

Pale blue eyes welcomed the boy from his slumber. He screamed at the top of his lungs then covers it afterward.

In front of him is a white-haired dog with pale blue eyes and a wet nose. It opens his mouth then the boy starts to tremble in fear.

"Good morning," it greets. The boy's eyes suddenly went wide and scramble to his feet to run away from the dog.

As he grabs the door handle the dog speaks once again. "You are not going to leave me, are you?" he asks.

The boy turns around and saw the dog transforms into a humanoid form. "You are real?" he stutters.

The dog now man looks at him with piercing eyes and said, "I am. Do you believe me now?" he asks.

The boy staggeringly sat down by the ends of his bed and looked at the man in front of him. "What do you want from me?" he asks curiously.

The man looked at him and said, "Take me back home and I will set you free. Free from bad spirits and free from anything elementals," he offers.

"Home? You mean Biringan?" I ask. The man nods at him and the boy laughs once again.

"You do know that Biringan does not exist, right?" he asks while laughing. "How do you know? Have you been there before?" the wolf asks.

The boy stops laughing and told him, "That's the point," he said. The man looked at him confusedly.

"I've never been there so it does not exist," the boy added. The man sighs in defeat and said, "Fine. If you don't want to believe then don't believe it," he poutily said.

The boy shrugs his shoulder and went to wash his face when the man speaks again.

"I won't stop bothering you then. That's your decision and I respect that so respect mine, too," he said as he sat down on the boy's bed and went to sleep.

The boy looks at him as he brushes his teeth and wonders, 'What is his name?'

The boy clears his throat and rinses his mouth before dumping a towel to dry it.

He walks to the bed and said, "I'm Stephen. Stephen Ferrer and you are?"

The wolf looks at him one eye opened.

"I don't have a name. You can give me one if you want," he suggests. The boy thought for a moment and said, "How about Triton?"

The wolf looks at him and nods. Then, the boy suddenly declares that made the wolf jumping in excitement.

"From now and forward, you will be given the name, Triton." The wolf smirks away and went back to his sleep while the boy continues with his morning routine.

He decides to take a picture of him and the sleeping men.

When he looks at the phone after taking the picture, he noticed that the man is not in the picture. He looked at the man who is sleeping soundly and looks back at the picture taken.

He could not believe his eyes so he wakes up the man asks him about the picture. "Triton," he calls. "Triton," he tries again.

The man wakes up groggy and looks at the boy. "What do you want? I am trying to sleep," he replies.

"Can I ask you an important question?" the boy asks. The man nods and the boy asks away.

"Are you perhaps a ghost?" The man suddenly opens his eyes and looked at the boy confusedly. "Or maybe a lone spirit?" he asks again.

"Me? A ghost? A spirit?" the man confusedly asked. "What do you mean?" he asks again.

"No, it's just I took a picture of the two of us, and suddenly you not at the picture," the boy panicky replies. "Picture? What picture?" the man asks.

When he suddenly went to his space and looked at the phone. The boy consciously looks at the body mirror beside his bed to see if he could see the wolf's reflection.

He saw no reflection in the mirror. The wolf looked at the phone he is holding and that he is not in bed.

"Are you perhaps a vampire?" the boy suddenly exclaimed. The wolf-man looked at him and said, "No because vampires don't exist."

The boy looked at him confusedly when he speaks again, "Vampires don't exist so as wizards and Nephilim," he explains when he is about to go asleep again he remembers what he forgot to tell the boy before he went to sleep earlier.

"Oh, before I forgot again," he said now facing the trembling boy.

"I forgot to tell you that you are the only one who can see me," the wolf-man said and he sat down in the middle of the bed.

"So, if I were you I won't attempt on talking to me in public if you don't want people calling a mental institute for you," he added.

The boy tries to retort but he does not know what to say because he still could not believe what he saw.

"I am a wolf; not a ghost nor a spirit but you are the only ones who can me. So be careful," the wolf warns and went back to his slumber leaving the boy with many questions rather than answers.

Deep inside of him, he still thinks that he just dreaming and none of this is real.
