After the daily greetings, the happy family had their breakfast together with all their favorite dishes enjoying their family time to the highest. The people witnessing this were used to this scene daily that no one felt anything out of the ordinary.
Under her happy and a blissful smile, only Jiang Xiurong knew how tense she was at this moment. From the moment she woke up, all she could think about was the prince with whom she had an encounter earlier. She is immensely worried about his motives of leaving her while knowing that she was the assassin that harmed the Emperor.
Above all these, he guessed her identity with just a single glance at her face and yet he did not say anything about it. Did he really believe that she was not the Lady Jiang that he thought of? Or is there any other scheme behind his words?
Why did he leave her there hanging on the edge of a cliff without saving her or throwing her down? She would even be relieved if she was mercilessly thrown out but the wait for the result and the little to nothing hope of being saved is a horrible feeling to have.
Even under all these conflicting emotions whirling around, Jiang Xiurong managed to maintain her regular happy and carefree attitude in front of her parents without worrying them.
After the breakfast, she returned to her chamber and started pacing around while thinking about everything once again to know what exactly went wrong and also how to get a perfect solution for this problem.
Once she thought of everything, Jiang Xiurong took out a paper and started drawing something on it. With very soft yet strong curves that she used to stroke on the paper with the help of her brush, anyone who could see would understand that Lady Jiang is very proficient in the skills of art.
Once she was satisfied by her final outcome, she called for her personal maid. Within a second, a young girl in the attire of a maid who appeared to be very docile presented herself in front of Jiang Xiurong.
Though she looked so weak and docile, only Jiang Xiurong and the maid herself knew that she is very proficient in martial skills and is not only the maid of Jiang Xiurong but also her secret bodyguard.
These both women would be the perfect example to show that to never judge a book by its cover. The outer delicate appearances of these two would be the exact opposite of their original fierce selves.
"Hua, take this picture," Jiang Xiurong gave the paper that she just drew to her maid to take a look at it.
Hua took the paper respectfully from the hands of her Miss and glanced at it to find an image of a beautiful hand with valuable rings donned on it. Once she observed every little detail of that image, she looked at her Miss with respect asking for her further instructions.
"That hand belongs to one of the Princes. I want to know the exact identity of the Prince as soon as possible. I also want to know his course of actions from last night. I want to know every little detail about him that he did." She gave a set of instructions which sounded random but her maid understood immediately that it was a very important mission which could not be neglected in the slightest.
She is one of the very few that could understand Jiang Xiurong's emotions and feelings the most. Hence she could sense a hint of nervousness when her miss was speaking, though she tried her best to portray a strong appearance.
Hua respectfully agreed and left in a hurry as she also understood the urgency of the matter leaving her miss alone in her chamber.
There was a maid that entered informing Jiang Xiurong that her Father was seeking her presence immediately. Though she was stunned and nervous because of her actions in the night, she still managed to smile and nod at the maid and went to meet her father in the family hall.
Looking at the Imperial decree in the hands of the Emperor's man, Jiang Xiurong too went forward and sat on her kneels along with all the others in respect waiting for the decree to be announced.
Noticing that all the important people arrived, the man opened the decree with utter carefulness as he spoke the words clearly, "Seeing the loyalty of Minister Jiang the Emperor decided to give him something as a gift. Now that his daughter Jiang Xiurong was of age the Emperor decided to take her into his family by granting the marriage of the Fifth Prince with her."
"Hail Your Majesty."
Everyone kowtowed to the Imperial decree as everyone was happy by the bestowed marriage proposal of their young miss, Jiang Xiurong, while she herself was dumbfounded.
