As Jiang Xiurong was left alone in the large bridal chamber without any other presence, she took a seat where there was plenty of light that shone from the full moon.
She took out the two boxes that Hua handed her and opened the first one gently. As soon as she opened it, it shone reflecting the moon light that fell on it and Jiang Xiurong used her hand to cover her eyes instantly.
She then closed her eyes and removed the hand from them so she could use it to cover the box so that the moon light would not fall on it anymore.
When she looked at it carefully, she found that it was a stone in the size of an egg. By the reflection it just portrayed, she can say that the stone is a very valuable one.
She immediately laughed while looking at it. "This man, seriously." She shook her head while laughing. "He improved by sending a valuable stone to a girl but he should have already crafted it into a jewelry before gifting it. He really needs to know more about the gifts he should and should not give to a girl."
Though she made fun of the man who gifted the stone to her, she still placed it back into the box carefully treating it like a treasure. It is indeed a treasure to many people because of its high market value. But for Jiang Xiurong, the man gave it to her is the reason for her treating it as a treasure.
Once she finished safekeeping the stone, she then opened the other box. As soon as she opened the second box, strings of tears started streaming from her eyes.
Without blinking her eyes or moving her hands she kept on crying without any movement or any sound.
Once a sob was released from her mouth, she placed the side of her palm in her mouth to bite in order not to make any sound.
After weeping soundlessly for a long time, she removed her hand from her mouth and used it to take a pair of jade bangles from the box.
The bangles are not new, instead were old but still looked novel after being taken care of for years. Jiang Xiurong recognized them as soon as her eyes fell on them.
She took the bangles out and looked at them without blinking her eyes but the tears never ceased to flow. A slight whimper left her lips which trembled severely, "Mom."
While whimpering she started calling for her mom a multiple times as the water never stopped coming out of her eyes. "Mom. Mom. Mom.."
She was reminded of so many memories while looking at the bangles in her hands.
She then slowly looked aside and then turned back to look at the box to find a small paper placed in it folded a few times.
She carefully took the paper out with her trembling hands to see the words in it, "Xiurong. I know you miss your mom a lot. She always wanted to give these bangles to you when you were married. I kept them for so long without giving them to you earlier just to fulfill her wish. I hope you forgive me. I don't know how you are going to spend your married life in that place but I want to give your mom's blessings to you so that you can have her along with you all the time. Just remember to stay safe. We remember your mother whenever we look at you. If something happened to you, we don't know how to answer your mother when we go to our afterlife. Don't think just about revenge and be safe too."
Jiang Xiurong cried while reading every word of the letter. She can understand why she did not give her mother's things before. She never intended to blame her.
Every word she spoke and every action of hers showed how much concern she had towards. How can she be angry with such a person.
Instead of being angry, Jiang Xiurong is instead happy to receive a gift that belonged to her mother on her wedding day.
No matter how this wedding eventually turns into, she will not forget this day. Not because it is her wedding but instead because she received a gift that belonged to her mother.
Her mother who is long dead and left her alone in this world and not the mother in the Jiang manor who pretended to be her mother.
