Chapter 38 - A Terrible Liar

I felt it quite weird to feel this warmth and security even in such a desperate situation. The world around me was trying to get its dirty hands on my life, and yet lying here on Aroon's chest seemed to be the most cozy place in the world.

It was also a bit fascinating to feel that.

I was haunted by weakness while all I could feel was the loud noises around. It seemed saving Aroon got on their nerves, or perhaps me killing a of them in the process.

Or maybe it was because we did all that without getting hurt. Excuse me, I was feeling so weak at the moment, couldn't that be considered an injury as well?

The horse kept running while Aroon only hugged me and did nothing else. After a few minutes I raised my head from his embrace and started to examine the world around me.

And I couldn't help but scream!

"Easy there," Aroon grabbed my body and pushed my head to sink inside his chest once more. "We are about to escape."
