Chapter 15 - Returning Back to the Mansion

"This place seemed special, have you investigated it yet?" I said, while starting to wander around the whole wide place, looking for any sign or mark or a remnant of the one who made it, or the one who owned it.

"We asked around in the whole area, and we learnt that this barn was old, so old already that it went beyond the memories and history of most of those who are living here," Emma said, explaining what they knew and learnt about this hidden enchanted hall. "However some said it's a relic, left over by the ancient great wars of the forgotten times," she added, and I was interested instantly by her words.

I knew many about this war, as I loved reading the old history of my kingdom, and how it came into existence. "And the mansion? Is it old as well?" I asked, as I walked around the whole place, and nothing could be found suspicious, except this shiny mosaic.

"The mansion was built couple of centuries ago, this was something known to many here," Oly said, before little punny jump in, saying in a wise adult tone:

"A new mansion built next to the ancient barn, that was what everyone said about this place."

I smiled, as this gave me no valuable information at all! I then took another turn around the place. The walls were made of strange rock that was so smooth and pulsating from its heart with sun rays. I knew this wasn't weird, as the enchanted corridor at my palace also had the same rocks.

The floor was made from another type of rocks, dim and slightly rigid, and that also was fine. The only abnormal thing here was the mosaic, however it was so shiny that I couldn't see or detect anything wrong in it, or at least through my short seconds of observation without feeling pain in my eyes.

"Big sis, we should head back. It's almost dawn, and Entely will be awake at any moment soon," Oly suddenly said, attracting my attention away from this mosaic. "Alright, let's head back then," I said, while turning around at the door, before crossing it, glancing at the mosaic for last glance.

I didn't know why, but I had the feeling this mosaic was about me, and I had this impression about a face with calm warm caring eyes following me inside this hall, like a distant mother from another time.

I sighed, before turning and passing through the light to appear in the darkness and cold of the barn and the world.

I really forgot how cold it was in the real world, especially at this very late hour of the night. "Let's hurry back, the night is about to pass," I said, as I knew the habits of Miss Entely, she used to sleep after supper and wake up at dawn.

"What will you say to her when you are all sleepy?" a little punny said in an interesting tone, like this situation was amusing to her. "Nothing," I shrugged my shoulders, "I will pretend it's my first restless days as usual," I added, while referring to my perfect excuse. "But what about you three little devils? How will you explain being sleepy to her?" I evilly turned to throw the question back at the three.

For me, I had the perfect excuse ready to shelter me from the angry words and suspicious gazes of miss Entely, my first restless days after coming here. I usually had my first three days to a week hard in sleep, as I usually felt it strange to live my real nature after abandoning it for the entire year.

"Us?" Oly commented with a sarcastic smile over her face, "it's not our first night off the mansion, you know," she winked and I wanted to grab her head and hit her with my knuckles, however she and the two others were saved as we formally reached the backdoor of the mansion.

"See you tomorrow night then," I said, while ascending the stairs towards my private dorm. There, I found it quite, lightened slightly by the dancing flames of the hearth there. it did a great job in expelling the cold and darkness away, and when I felt the warmth in here, I had this sudden urge to sleep.

So, I went to my bed, lying only a few tables away from the fireplace, grabbed my thick covers, and buried myself deeply under them.

"What an interesting adventure," I muttered, while my eyes felt so heavy that I couldn't keep then opened any more, finally falling asleep.
