"Felex! what are you doing siding with Mede of all people, I thought you were my brother!, I thought you despised Mede!" Felix shouted, "Brother?!" Violet yelled at Felix.
"Felix, there are many things you still don't know, isn't there? Mede offered me the power and help I could ever need to take you down and take my rightful place as the god of fire, remember? I worked day in and day out for 100 years, yet when the selections came, you were the one chosen instead of me! so now I'm here to finish you off and take my rightful place."
Felix looked down with a guilt as his as brother closed in on Felix, Felix felt guilty and stood in place shaking with fear, "Felix what are you doing!" Violet shook Felix but he was despondent, Violet had no choice but to charge at Felex in a head on clash, Felex shot a fireball from his hand, Violet dodged but the fireballs kept coming, Violet ran a full circle around Felex to dodge the fire but there was too much smoke to see what was going on, Violet saw the shadow of Felix in the smoke get stabbed through the stomach with a knife.
'Felix!" Violet shouted and as the shadow of Felix began to fall over, Violet rushed into the smoke without fear and plunged her swords into Felex's limbs, they seemed to didn't inflict any damage at all as Felex began to fly up, when he was right above the castle, hundreds of fireballs were scattered around the castle and towns, putting them all on fire and killing anyone unlucky enough to get hit directly by one, Felex had become the new god of fire.
As Violet dodged the incoming fireballs, there seemed to be no end to the fireballs, but after a minute they stopped and Felex was sent tumbling downwards as Violet prepared to face off against the men that had survived the rampage, Violet was tired and scared but even so she steadied her sword towards the men, the men ran at Violet swinging their swords at her, she made ten swords and shot them at the men impaling 8 of them, Violet tried to re-focus herself and created seven swords the second time, she shot them at the few men that were alive but only managed to hit two of the three remining ones, the last man lifted his sword above Violet as she collapsed on the ground, the last thing Violet saw before fainting was a fast spear of ice impaling the man right through his chest, the sword started to fall on Violet when the man was killed and lost his grip, the sword fell directly into the center of Violet's chest.
When Violet woke up, Timothy, Inz and the king were next to her in the only part of the kingdom that wasn't badly affected by the fire, "where's Felix?" Violet asked, Timothy and Inz turned their faces down, "Felix was killed and his brother took over as the god of fire." the king replied to her question, "oh I see." Violet started crying as she felt guilty for not being able to save him or stop his brother.
"how long was I asleep?" Violet asked, "for about a month." the king replied to her question again, "thanks to your godly prowess, you recovered much quickly than a normal person would if they had survived being stabbed through the chest."
Violet sat up and wiped away her tears, "we should get going with what we came here for before Mede gets ahead of us or else Felix's death will have been for nothing." Timothy said trying not to upset anyone too much, "yeah, let's get going." Inz said, "Violet, you should stay here and get a full recovery before you join us." Timothy said before leaving the room with Inz to plan their next course of action.
"could you come with me to the church Violet? there's something I need to do before you leave."
Violet followed the king into the church where every row of seats inside were occupied and there were even people outside, the king stood in front of a podium as he started his speech, "I the king, hereby announce Violet, as a knight!" the king said in front of hundreds of people, "knight?" Violet thought, "she has demonstrated an big act of bravery and valor in the face of the enemy and managed to fend them off, even though this place is all that's left of the kingdom."
"I didn't fend them off, I nearly died myself, I even let Felix die." Violet thought as the king continued his speech, "but it was because of Violet that this place was spared and we all still have a place to live." the king said as he lifted a sword and tapped it on both of Violet's shoulders.
Everyone cheered, there were people outside cheering as well as people inside cheering, they were all cheering, "Violet!, Violet!, Violet!" Violet thought that she didn't protect anything or anyone, but since the fireballs were targeting her, they didn't go past the wall she stood in front off but instead dodged and deflected the fireballs from destroying the whole kingdom, when everything went silent and as Violet was heading out the doors, two swords were raised to her neck, the king and everyone else in the room was shocked that there were still men left from where Violet had fought them during the chaos, they managed to survive by running away and have now attempted to assassinate Violet once again, this time Violet was ready and saw that some of the people in the crowd had swords and had already created an invisible spell around her that would summon swords behind the people that were in radius at her command.
there were assassins next to the king as well, apparently they had banded together with other assassins that opposed the king, the guards couldn't do anything and Violet was only prepared for the assassins she had fought before, "one wrong move and the king dies, so no one move!" the assassins started rounding up the people outside the church and left only the knights, Violet and the king inside, "now you're going to give us money, your highness." the assassins targeting the king had put Violet in a troublesome situation, she was in a standstill between taking care of the assassins around her but endanger the king and hope the knights can handle it, or take care of the assassins around the king but endanger herself, to avoid both she decided to create a shield spell that would block three attacks no matter what they were, the archer would shoot at her and the others would swing at her, the spell was enough to block an attack from all three of them, then she used a her pre-made spell to finish off the assassins on the king and then deal with the others later.
Violet having come up with a plan, completed every step like she had imagined, but what she didn't know, was that there was more than one archer, a another archer stepped out of the shadows and shot an arrow at the king hoping to kill him before Violet pushes him out of the way, but in a flash a bolt of lightning struck all the assassins behind Violet as well the the other archer right through their legs making them stumble and fall over paralyzed.
A man walked out from behind the wall where the archer was and had a smirk on his face, "hey, aren't you the one who was fighting Felex last month?" the man said, "yes, but who are you?" Violet replied, "you don't know of me? how dumb can someone be to not know the very god they worship! I am Lein the god of lighting! and just who do you think you are asking a god who they are!" Lein replied with pride, Violet was looking at him with disgust in her eyes from the moment he called her dumb and made fun of her.
"anyway, I must thank you for trying to help the king, and since you're an official knight I suppose I can be just a little bit nicer to you." Lein said, "when will he stop bragging about being the god of whatever." Violet thought, still looking at him with disgust.
The assassins stood back up and tried to defend themselves from being shot in the back again, Lein shot lighting bolts at them again, but this time they blocked it, then Violet went in to finish them off, swiftly striking them all in the back of the head knocking them unconscious.
"I could've handled it myself, woman." Lein said, at this point Violet wans't sure what to think of him anymore, even if he was a god, he still brags about himself too much, was what Violet thought, at just the right timing, Timothy and Inz came back and they had gotten the shard, "hey what's all the commotion about? and why is everyone standing outside the church." Inz said.
"oh hi Inz, Timothy!" Lein said, "hey is this someone you know?" Violet asked Inz and Timothy, "of course we know him, he's the god of lightning." Timothy said, after hearing those words, Violet was shocked to her core, "how ironic, to be shocked by the god of lightning without being struck by lighting." she thought as she fell to the ground knees first while looking at the floor with a even more disgusted face than ever before, an even more disgusted face than when she accidently walked in on Felix showering that one time.
"are you serious? that guy is the god of lightning?" Violet said, "hey! what do you mean by that guy? you lowly commoner! don't think just because you helped me that I would even slightly begin to respect you and even give you permission to not address me by name!" Lein argued back.
"hey Lein what do you mean by lowly commoner? she is a god too you know." Timothy and Inz both said at the same time, "wait, this commoner is a god?" Lein said, "I would appreciate if you stopped calling me a lowly commoner." Violet said, "no no no, you must be mistaken! what do you mean she IS a god?" Lein argued again.
"did you not notice her aura? she's the original god of magic." Inz said, "yeah yeah." Timothy followed up, "what do you mean? she must be tricking you with illusion magic right? right?" Lein still didn't believe that Violet was the reincarnation of the original god of magic, Vemillia, so Timothy had to explain the whole story all over again to Lein but from his perspective and what Felix had told him before he died.
"wait, Felix is dead and his good for nothing brother took over! and not only that, he is even working with MEDE of all people! it would've been better if he worked for some human instead." Lein said after hearing the whole story, "I'm sorry I called you a lowly commoner Violet." Lein apologized to Violet right after, "well if you apologize then I guess I'll forgive just this once, but don't call me that again! so anyway why do you all hate Mede so much? what did she do?" Violet said.
"back in heaven Mede used to be the most loved goddess of all time, but then for some reason she joined the underworld and killed many gods and soldiers, we were able to suppress her and underworld but she is still alive and is still seeking revenge, no one knows what brought about her change of heart and soul, but in my opinion I think she was persuaded by some offer from the third prince of underworld." Lein explained, "oh I get it, so basically she betrayed the heavens and wen ton a rampage for underworld correct?" Violet said.
"well that's basically the gist of it, and with Felex on her side, her arsenal will be much stronger with a god as powerful as me with her." Inz said.
"we will continue this conversation later, for now lets check if anyone is injured." Timothy said before heading outside.
