Chapter 18 - -Chapter 17: Dreams of a Far Off Place-

-Zeke-

Have you ever had the feeling that you're being watched, but there's nobody around? Yeah. That's been me ever since I got home.

As of now, it's still here, and I've tried many things to make it go away. For now, I'll just ignore it.

I sit down and look at an old model kit of the Queen Mary that was sitting at my desk. I study all the little details and reminisce about the times I've spent there.

-flashback, Long Beach, 4.5 months ago-

I sat on the rocks; in front of me, a giant ship loomed, my old stomping ground. I used to explore the vessel like there was no tomorrow. But that wasn't the reason I was there today. By my sides were Kenmur and Luna, all looking at the water, and me, the big ship in front of us.

"You two ready for your flight?" Kemur asked, trying to sound supportive.

I slowly shook my head. Luna said nothing.

"Well, look at the bright side, you both will have new starts in a new city," Kenmur said, still trying to lighten the mood. I could tell he was trying to be strong, but nothing could mask his pain.

"Why couldn't we just have stayed here?" Luna asked nobody in particular. "We've practically been living on our own, Zeke and I, since I dropped out of school."

"Cuz they're selfish idiots who only think about themselves and the stupid company," I said coldly. All they talk about now is who they're going to pass off the company to. They want to pass it off to me since Luna dropped out.

"Well," Kenmur replied. "I'm sure you'll think of something. You always do."

He smiled, and nothing more was said. We sat on the rocks and watched the sunset before returning to our homes.

-Present-

I got up and retrieved a small paintbrush from my nightstand and started to brush away the dust that had covered the model.

"Hey, little bro," Luna said, appearing in my doorway. "I made some food. Want any?"

"Yeah," I say, still dusting off the ship. "I'll be down in a minute."

"I see you brought your old kit down." She said, looking at the ship on the desk. "It's so dusty."

"Yeah, I know," I say, finally turning to face her. "That's why I'm dusting it."

"Oh." Luna sat on my bed. "Erm.. hows the dusting going?" She asked as if she didn't know what to say.

I turn back to dust the model once again off. "It's going well. I'm just thinking about the times we spent there."

"What specifically?" Luna asked.

"Memories, old adventures I went on, the ship, why it's so much colder here then there," I say with a smile.

Luna giggled. "Yeah, I miss it too, maybe one day we can go back."

"That would be nice. I agree. "I'll be down in a bit. I just need to finish up here."

"Ok, don't take to long." She said in a joking way.
