I awoke with a pain in my stomach and I rushed to the bathroom just in time. I emptied whatever dinner I had left into the toilet. "Jupiter are you okay?" I heard my Husband say sleepily in the doorway of the bathroom. "Yeah I'm fine, just nauseous and really light headed." He started rubbing and patting my back. "Just let it all out, don't hold it in, you'll hurt yourself." He said lovingly. After all of that I brushed my teeth and took some Advil.
I checked the time it was five thirty in the morning. Should I go back to sleep or should I make up an activity for my students. I didn't feel tired. So I decided to make a card game up for a free class period. The hours passed by before I knew it, it was seven o'clock. I took a shower got dressed and grabbed cards and board games.
After my shower I saw that Noah was cooking breakfast in his uniform. I leaned into his taller body. "Good Morning honey how'd you sleep?" "Well after the whole barfathon not that well cause I was worried about you. How are you doing?" I'm doing fine, maybe it was the pizza we had last night. "I'm gonna eat toast for breakfast just in case it's not pizza. "Well babe I have to get to work I love you! Be safe" He kissed me full on the lips. I kissed him back.
I ate the toast on the road. I parked my truck and locked it. I scanned my badge on the scanner and got let in. I opened my classroom door. I put the games on the back table. I wrote on the board 'Hey class today is a free period you can do board games, homework, or you can be on your phone. If you're going to leave the room go ahead take the hall pass any questions just ask.' Oh today is October Sixth.
Something doesn't feel right. I feel like I'm missing something. I brushed it off. The first bell rang and some students walked in not all of them. I sat down at my desk and started grading papers. Within four minutes the tardy bell rang. I looked at the class and it looked like everyone was here. I went down the line of attendance and yup everyone is here.
A student walked up to my desk. He looked shy. "Can I speak with you out in the hall?" "Yeah of course." I said getting up. The whole room spun fast in my vision. I took a deep breath and walked out with Jacob. We made it outside of the doors. He looked around the halls and nobody was there.
"You're an omega right? Cause I need it." He looked around again and lowered his voice."I need a t-tampon or a pad." 'Oh I got you covered Jacob. Let me go back to the classroom and grab you a pad." I went back into the classroom, opened a drawer and paused. 'When was my last cycle?' I started freaking out inside. I gave Jacob the pad. He went to the bathroom.
I checked on my Juniors who were peaceful and working/ playing board games. "Hey class I'll be back. I need to go talk to Mrs. Blight." I went to Mia's office. She didn't have any students in her office. I knocked. She looked at me and motioned for me to come in. "Can we talk for a minute?" She put her pen down. "Yeah what can I do for you bro." "Well last night I had pizza for dinner and this morning I threw it up." "So you want to go home class just started."
"No no let me finish. When class started Jacob asked for a pad. That made me think of when I had my last cycle which was about a month ago. I haven't had my cycle yet. I don't know if I am late or pregnant. I mean I have been late before and Noah and I got our hopes up then I had my cycle. I can't do that to him again. We've been trying for three years to have a baby. What should I do?" She looked at me and thought for a few seconds.
"Well we could take lunch together and buy a pregnancy test and then we stop at my place because that's closer and you take it and see the results and then we eat. Sounds good?" I looked at her. "Yes that sounds good thank you Mia. I really appreciate you." "See you at lunch love you." "Love you too."
I walked back to my classroom. The kids were still behaving and doing what they did before I left. I sat down and started grading papers. The classes flew by and before I knew it it was lunch. As usual I met up with my twin sister in her office. "Ready to go Mia?" "Yup just let me grab my stuff." "Who's driving?" I asked, "I can't,'' she said looking at me." "Thanks. I feel like I wouldn't be able to concentrate." She smiled at me and patted my back. We made it to the pharmacy and I bought three of the best pregnancy tests there are.
We made it back to Mia's house in record time. I went straight to the bathroom. This is the first time i've ever taken one of these tests. Okay I breathed in and out. I followed the directions and I took the other two. I just have to patiently wait two minutes. Mia knocked on the bathroom door. "What do you want to eat?" "Something light please." "That's helpful" she mumbled and walked away,
I honestly hope it comes back positive. I've always wanted a family. I am twenty three. I married the love of my life at eighteen. I waited for the two minutes which were probably the longest two minutes of my life. I checked one. My heart stopped and it came back positive. I was so happy I was crying. The other two also came back positive. "Mia!" I shouted through the bathroom door. She came rushing in and I showed her the tests. She smiled at me and gave me a huge hug.
"Congrats" she whispered in my ear. "How are you going to tell Noah?" "Tomorrow i'll let it be a surprise because it'll be our fifth wedding anniversary.'' "That's so cheesy but adorable, well you need to eat something." Here she said handing me crackers with peanut butter. "We have about thirty minutes before we have to be back on campus.
"Can we leave earlier I have some grading to do." "Yeah that sounds like a plan. But eat first I know how you can get it." I smiled sheepishly at her and ate the crackers in silence. When I was done we left. We listen to some music before going back to work. I clocked in and graded papers...
The bell rang The students left. I cleaned up the classroom a bit so that the janitor doesn't have much more to do than what she does have to do. I grabbed my stachel and since I finished grading papers and putting them into the gradebook I don't have any extra work. I clocked out and on the drive home I thought about telling Noah tonight and surprising our parents tomorrow. Yeah that's what i'll do. I got out of my truck and locked it. When I opened the door I put my coat and bag on the couch and my shoes in the proper place.
For dinner I made mash potatoes, steak and veggies. His favorite. I heard his car pull up. I quickly grab one of the pregnancy tests and stuff it into my back pocket. I wandered back to the bedroom. I heard the door open. "Hey babe i'm home" I heard Noah say when entering. "I'm in the bedroom come find me!" I said playfully. I was sitting on the bed with the pregnancy test between my hands. He came in and looked at me sitting on the bed. "Are you okay honey? You look a little pale." "I'm fine thanks for asking"
"But I need you to sit down here." I said getting up and gesturing for him to sit here I sat. "What's up, are you sure you're okay?" "Yes babe I'm good, just tired. Well I need you to do something. Close your eyes and hold out your hand." He looked at me questionably. "I trust you." He said he closed his eyes and held out both of his hands cupped.
I brought out my phone and started recording him. I put the test in his hands. "Don't open your eyes quite yet. What does this feel like?" It took him a moment to think "It almost feels like a pen but not." For about another thirty seconds I asked. "Do you give up?" "Yes. can I look now?" I felt my heart skip a beat. "Yes you may." He opened his eyes. "Babe what is this? Does this mean what I think it means?"
"What do you think it means?" "Are we having a baby?" "Yes." I almost cried. His face lit up like it just got married. "Are you okay?" I asked him. "Honestly this is one of the best moments of my life!" He said getting up, picking me up and hugging me. He planted so many kisses on me. "I love you so much thank you! I know we've been trying for about two years. I'm so happy right now. I am speechless right now." I hugged him back and started kissing him back. "Well tomorrow is our anniversary I want to invite our parents and tell them.'' " that's the best idea that I have ever heard.
"Now let's go eat." I said heading towards the kitchen. We ate dinner with a little bit of chit chat.Then we cuddled and watched charmed. About six episodes later I texted Mia telling her my plans and that it is welcomed over as well. Then she replied right back. 'Okay see you tomorrow.. Love ya!' I texted back 'Love you too.' Then we went to bed.
I woke up to a text message from Noah. "Sorry babe I really am. I know it's our fifth anniversary today. I wanted everything to be special. I love you so much! I'm taking a half day to see you at noon babe Love you." It was sent at six o'clock. Am. Well at least Ican go shopping now! I thought to myself.
I felt nauseous so I slowly got up and dressed. I ate some peanut butter toast and I made my way to the nearest Walmart. I made it to wall art and walked in. I made it to the paternity section and bought a few new pairs of stretchy pants Along with some shirts that said worlds best grandma and words number One Grandpa. I looked for different versions too and I found the right ones. Worlds best papa and Gramps. Perfect. I thought to myself.
I also got Mia B A E shirt best auntie ever.I also got Noah's brother an uncle shirt. Okay enough shopping. I paid for the stuff and when I got home It was eleven thirty. Yes, only a half an hour. I wrapped the gifts and wrote names on them. I put the parents together so they each get a positive pregnancy test. I made sandwiches for lunch along with some chips. The door opened and Noah came in. I welcomed him at the door with a kiss.
"Welcome home honey." I said smiling."Oh I pulled some strings last night while you were talking to everyone and we have an ultrasound appointment with Dr. Couch in thirty minutes. It's about an hour that will still leave us time to set up the party cause the party starts at three." I smiled at him. "Aww thanks babe!" I said looking at him"Let's eat first, I'm hungry." "Well you are eating for two now. I ate slowly to make sure I didn't upchuck. We left ten minutes till.
We made it there in five. We walked up to the receptionist man. "Can I help you?" He said in a bass voice. "I have an ultrasound appointment with Dr. Couch at two." "What's your name and your birthday?" "I'm Jupiter Arlos, I was born 07/01/97." "Okay you can take a seat.' He said smiling at me. I felt butterflies in my stomach. "Don't be nervous we got this." Noah said with a lot of confidence. I felt relaxed.
"Jupiter and Noah Arlos Dr. Couch will see you now. I felt the butterflies return. I took a shakily deep breath and got up. Noah got up holding my hand.. The doctor asked me a few questions, took my weight and we followed him into the room. Okay sit here and lift up your shirt a little" She said getting the machine ready.
I pulled my shirt up past my abdomen "I'm warning you now this hell is going to be a bit cold. When the jell touched my belly it was cold but not that cold. "Everything looks great." she said "Would you like to know what the sex is?" "I looked at Noah "No let us surprised." We both said in unison. "Any fatigue or morning sickness?" She said looking at me. I shook my head yes. "Both and i've been throwing up a lot lately to be honest starting a couple of weeks ago. I work at North High so I thought I got a bug that was going around."
"Well I can tell you that you are about six weeks pregnant and do you hear that?" That's the heartbeat. I listened to it I almost started to cry. Then I hear an irregularity "Wait listen closely do you hear an irregularity?" She listened "Yeah I hear that." She said moving the monitor around. She gasped. "What? What is it?" Noah and I said in unison. My mind started going to the worst possible options.
"You guys are having twins!" She said excitedly. I gasped and looked at Noah ``Twins? Thats amazing! I knew it was a possibility I can't wait to meet them both!" Noah said looking at me. I smiled at him and kissed him. "Any concerns or questions?" "Nope." She whipped the goo off and I pulled my shirt down.
"I'll be back with the ultrasound pictures. We waited patiently for the picture. "We got this don't worry." He said. "I don't want to mess this up." "You won't." He said smiling at me. I got up and hug him. The doctor came back in. "So here are the pictures." She said handing them to me. "Awe thanks" I looked through them there were three of them each of them looked the same but not.
"Awe look at them they are so cute!" I said handing them to him. We made it back to my truck. He gave me a look. "What I'm driving while I still can before I become too big to reach the pedals. Also I can't wait to get home to make copies of this and put these in the gift bags." I said smiling.
When we got home Noah decorated the house I made the gift baskets. I heard a knock at the door. "Come in" I shouted Mia came in with pizzas.with our parents tailing them. "Father, Dad. How are you guys?" I said smiling and hugging them both. "We are good hunny, we are good, just a little lonely at home." Dad said hugging me back.
"I'll Make sure we'll visit more." I said enjoying their embrace. I let go to greet the next set of parents and the brother. "Mom, Pa. How are you doing?" Noah said, hugging them. I went Mia "How are you?" "I'm doing okay. I just have a lot to do at the moment. But I am here for you, don't worry." "Thank you so much. Where's the Misses?" "She made a case that she couldn't get out of, you know how lawyers are." 'Yeah I understand." "She has Monday to Wednesday off. So I can't wait."
I smiled and kissed her cheek. "Okay everyone. Please take as much pizza as you want." Mia said in her principal voice. "And After pizza I things for all of you!" I said ecstatically. I put on some background music. "So Father how's the business?" "It's going good. Not a lot of complaints to be honest it's going smoothly." "That's good to hear Charlie." Noah's Mom said "How's being a teacher. Jupiter? Isn't this like your second year teaching?' "Yes it is. So far teaching tenth and eleventh graders are nice they are more responsible and well mannered. So far this year for art we took a quiz about the right way to clean paint brushes and also a get to know you kinda project." Dad looked at me and noticed I wasn't eating. "Jupe are you okay? Why aren't you eating."
I look at dad "Oh i'm fine just my stomach is a little upset." I waited for about another ten minutes. I looked around and everyone was done eating. I set up our camera to make sure I didn't miss this. I made sure the lid was off and pushed the record. "Okay so the reason I called you guys here is because We miss you. Also we have some gifts for you." I said proudly.
Noah followed me to our room. "I'm nervous to show them." I said "Don't be they are our family." I too a deep breath in and let it out. "Okay. I want to do Mia and your parents. You can do my parents and Kyle." I put on a smile and headed back out into the living room. I checked to see that the camera was still recording. Everyone is talking about how Kyle Just graduated got done with college so he can now go out into the world and make it a better place as a Doctor.
"Okay so this is for Eric, Judy and Mia. Also if we could wait for everyone to open the gifts I'd appreciate it." I said handing it out in that exact same order. "This is for Jude, Luke and Kyle" Said Noah handing them out. "Alright go!" I said enthusiastically. I watched both sets of parents. My dads started crying looking at the test and the shirts. They got up and smushed me in a huge sandwich. "I'm so happy congratulations. I'm so proud of you. AH I'm a grandpa at forty one." "You guys had me at eighteen. I'm sorry but i'm ready for a family."
"NO don't ever be sorry for this. I'm so happy for you and Noah. I can't wait for my grand baby." "Grand babies. Plural." I said I would correct him. "Even a bigger reason to celebrate." My father said. I smiled. I looked over at Noah who was Smushed in a family hug as well.``Mia get over here." I said welcoming her in my arms. It felt like nothing could go wrong. I got out of the family hug. I walked over to see Noah cleaning up. "Congrats Jupe. I'm happy for you." Kyle said hugging me. "If you need anything just let me know.Having twins is really hard on the body" "Thanks I will." I said smiling and walking towards Eric and Jude who I think don't like me that much. "
"Congratulations Jupiter! I'm so happy for you and Noah I knew you were the right one for our son!" Judy said hugging me. I felt surprised. I hugged her back. "Congrats man I'm happy for you but it's about time to be honest." I sighed "I had infertility problems ever since the car crash. I had a major fracture to my pelvic area. But now i'm all healed up and stronger than ever." I said holding my non existing baby bump. "Since your having twins you might start showing a little bit at eight weeks." said Kyle interjection.
"I did not know that. I'm seven weeks pregnant on the dot. Woah. that's scary to think about." I said helping Noah clean up a bit. Everyone left on their own time. Cleaning up wasn't that bad. After that I Took shower with Noah. After the shower I felt pretty tired so I took a nap. I awoke again to a sharp pain and ran to the bathroom and retched and through my guts up.
Noah came in and started rubbing my back. Which felt pretty good. Its also good to know that he is behind me one hundred percent of the way. After about five more minutes of throwing up and nothing coming out. I brushed my teeth. "Here I read on the internet that saltines can help with the nauseousness." "Thanks"I said taking a cracker and nibbling on it. I was still tired and I had to work on lesson plans tomorrow. I checked the time it was 9:45. I can go back to sleep. I thought to myself.I layed down and Noah joined me. We snuggled he put a hand on my belly. I felt so at peace. I drifted to sleep.
