It's been 4 days since I first crashed and discovered it's strange but amazing plant life such as the blue apple and newly discovered orange roses. I was mostly studying the growth span of these blue apples which took surprisingly only 6 hours which was almost impossible if it wasn't for the fact the homestar turned out to project the plants growth rate even quicker than the quickest earth plant. it almost frightened me how fast those sprouts became saplings then fully fledged trees which withing a minute began to grow new blue apples like balloons, weirdest part is that the entire time the plant and the fruit growing were very warm like the other things which I remember were consistently in the ground but stop whenever they are removed like a phone getting removed from the charger. I was studying several orange roses when I was startled by rustling like you would hear when there Is a wild Pokemon in tall grass so i turn around to the foliage and see its rattling like if there was a rat in there, I was afraid to investigate because I didn't know what creatures dwelled here and sure as heck didn't wanna get in a confrontation with something mysterious and probably hungry. but it was never what I expected to come waltzing out of this bush, stumbling onto the ground to be something only talked about in earth mythology, it was a wolpertinger which was an animal from German folklore that inhabited alpine forests of Bavaria. it was heavily injured though as if it barely escaped the jaws of a shark because it was limping as soon as it came into view like a drunk man from a bar at night, "oh my!" I exclaimed as I scooped the poor thing up and rushed back to the satellite, I didn't tell you all before but I was a veterinarian before I was a scientist at NASA and I helped so many animals so now I would use my skills in helping to an extent by helping an alienoid species. I fumbled with the rolls of bandaids like a person's toilet paper with diarrhea in a Taco Bell and applied ointment to the wound before bandaging up the injuries which thank goodness weren't vital, I placed it on one of my crewmates spare clothes since they weren't here to use them as a bed for it to recover in. I stood bye and looked through a book I had brought on the nourishment animals like this needed and apparently they ate mostly peas and cabbage but this species bore fangs so it may not be the same. i decided to experiment once it was feeling better I slowly cut the blue apple slices and placed one in front of it, the wolpertinger was generally afraid of me because it backed away like I had a gun instead of nibbling the slide of apple. it took about 1 minute for the Wolpertinger to begin to examine the fruit as i sat near observing its behavior, it was sniffing it at first twitching its nose before it revealed its fangs and sunk them into the skin of the fruit and began to drink the juice almost as if it was it was one of those juice packets you stabbed with a straw and sucked. it had sucked the fruit dry and ate the remaining seeds by using its teeth similar to birds using claws to open nuts, i placed another one down and this time it didn't back away and looked up at my finger before eating the slice like before but a bit faster probably now realizing it wasn't a trap. I think it was after the 4th slice of apple that I placed my finger on the table and waited to see if anything happened and it at first was suspicious of my movements before slowly moving towards my finger just in case of any sudden movement like regular rabbits. it's nose twitched when it was several inches from my finger then it nuzzled its face against it like a cat does and I sort of sighed in happiness because either I had just befriended a Mythological rabbit or it just wanted more apples. I wanted to see what would happen if I gave it a full apple and it began lightly scraping the apple like a walrus scraping at ice sheets for several segments until it found somewhere which was a bruise it left when I accidentally dropped it bringing it in, apparently from this node it seemed that it looks for weak parts of the fruit to break through and drink the juice like a carton of orange juice. of course fully domesticating and taming an animal like a rabbit takes more time than this, I only gained its appreciation and needed to do more things for it like give it water and things to do, so I found several sticks that were as thick as my ring finger and put it near it because I had a feeling that those fangs needed to be sharpened somehow. what would you know? I was correct about this assumption because it began to run its fangs up and down the stick like it was filing its nails, this was definitely progress because it began to figure out a pattern of when it would be getting food, water, and entertainment. I had the thought that since it had wings? couldn't it fly? I thought as I brought it outside and lightly nudged the side of its wing to see if that would indicate that it should try and fly, it tapped its foot on the ground like Thumper and it lightly spread its wings and jumped about 6 meters in the air, "you can do it!" I said like I was cheering a baby to walk for the first time and those wings began flapping propelling it slightly forwards. I was half expecting it to up and leave but it came right back around in a circle back to me and it landed on my shoulder like a parrot, this stunned me because it usually took much longer to domesticate a rabbit but I guess this was a bit different. this was definitely going in the journal of amazing discoveries and achievements. this would hopefully put me and my crew as the greatest exploration team in generations and I couldn't wait to see and experience more.
